Liem Jewelry and Lee’s Alterations

I would like to start off saying that before taking my jewelry to this shop, I was hesitant. The shop owners hover over you obnoxiously as you browse, and watch you like a hawk. They treat everyone (or at least me!) like you’re going to pull a gun out at any moment and rob the place. It’s ridiculous. They are overpriced as all hell, too.
I brought an antique, sterling silver ring with a tiger’s eye pendant. The pendant had broken off and the ring had been bent. Though I wanted to bring my business to Silver Queen on East Bay, I didn’t have a way to get there.
I brought in the ring and told the man what needed to be done. The fixing costed as much as I had paid for the ring, which I expected. He told me to come back Monday. I arrived early noon on Monday, upon first glance, the ring looked polished and completely renewed, but when I looked closer, THE PENDANT HAD BEEN PUT ON BACKWARDS!!! One side (the correct side) was all stone, the other side, had almost a silver frame around it, to hold it in place. It was EXTREMELY obvious which side was meant to be seen, and which wasn’t. The man obviously has no eye for jewelry, or any common sense. I told him it was wrong and he apologized, telling me to come back the next day around the same time. I came back the next day, a little earlier. He gave me the ring. The pendant was on the right way, but the ring was still in less than perfect condition. It has a visible imperfection (a bend.) Disappointed and feeling down about having a ring fixed (more like ruined) for my boyfriend, I took the ring and said, «So since the ring wasn’t ready on the day you said it would be, am I going to get any money off?» I should have stood my ground when he and his wife shook their heads and laughed at me. I really wish I had taken my belongings and left. I really do.
The moral of the story is, these people have no eye or passion for jewelry, and aren’t interested in your feelings whatsoever. The review below mine says it all, too.
If you HAVE TO take your jewelry to this place, all I can say is be MORE SPECIFIC THAN NECESSARY. I was EXTREMELY specific when letting him know what I needed done to mine, but didn’t think to tell him which was the right and wrong way to adhere the stone.
