I agree with everything that has been said. I don’t live in this area, but was doing some work in the area and needed to pick up some cleaning supplies. Kmart was close, so we popped in. There is some serious people watching to be had here, customers and employees alike. Other than the people watching, this place is a bust. I won’t pile on, just read all the other reviews to get a fair warning of what is in store for you if you dare enter. Even though it is close, I won’t go back.

Nicer part of Clearwater, yet a step inside is a step back into a depressing part of your life. Not a hint of sunlight and funereal atmosphere. How did Clearwater get such a relic? A yellowish tinge hangs over this place, like bad lamination. Dull shelves, unpolished floors, beige ceilings, mustard-colors everywhere: a store that hasn’t been upgraded since the ‘70s. Years of despair settling on the poor help who wear blood-red vests to counteract this lifeless image. From all appearances, it’s only days from going out of business. The motto might as well be «Walmart/Target — We Surrender.» Haphazard sales racks are jammed into the central aisle, like an ongoing liquidation sale. And, of course, in all such horror movies, customers must be kept in line as long as possible. Cashiers are required to ask you about enrollments, emails, and phone numbers before ringing you up. Then an outdated cash register spits out a tediously long, and unasked for, string of coupons that are bundled with your receipt. Can you swipe your card in the meantime to save time? Of course not. The machines won’t accept your card until the very last item is scanned. One last thing: although the store is badly lit, there are florescent lights EVERYWHERE. I swear, when I closed my eyes I had florescent streaks burned into them. If you want to have an agonizing shopping experience, go here.

There were 3 people behind the counter with only 1 working the counter with a customer. There were a few people in line and the customer service people didn’t seemed phased by trying to quickly serve people. When it was my turn there wasn’t much interaction between myself and the employee as she was busy talking to the other workers in the counter area with her. The area was messy and disorderly. This is an old store with many employees at the registers not usually very happy or interacting with customers.

So I am standing here looking at items they claim they are out of stock and I am standing here looking at many of them. So since they can’t add it to cart I don’t get the sale! so I called the dot com help line nothing. So we decided not to worry about it then we saw a sign that’s said 33% off the reg price for ALL Jaclyn smith xmas Christmas décor! We get up to the cashier it don’t give the % off! So they call manager(Steve) he said of after trying it himself said everything but these items(a tree skirt and stockings you hang) then walks away not trying to deal with it but let the cashier deal with it! This manager isn’t professional at all and needs to be replaced but I do have to say the cashier rocked and need a raise! I’m not giving her name here because steve looks like someone that would take this out on her) He surely can learn from her! By the time I left he did give me the discount but to walk away to leave our backlash on him to her her was totally unprofessional! She tried what she should have shame on you steve!

Why have so many kmart stores gone out of business in the past few years? Because they are overpriced, disorganized, behind the times and their customer service is a hot mess. Why is this particular location still open? I have absolutely no idea. I tend to avoid kmart like the plague, even on the weeks that they do double coupon promos. It’s just not worth the headache of shopping here. However i recently got a coupon for $ 5 off any purchase so I decided to suck it up and stop in for 1 quick thing. That turned into a 20 minute trip, 18 minutes of which was spent standing in line to pay as both of the open registers had price check issues for the people in front of me and we had to wait and wait and wait some more while the only manager on duty attempted to fix it. Why do they always have price check issues here? Every time! Is it so hard to price your items correctly as they are advertised on the shelf? Apparently so… When it was finally my turn, of course there were more issues. The computer and cashier can’t find my rewards account by name, phone number or email despite the fact that they emailed me a coupon to the address I provided. Really?!? So ridiculous! Finally after another loooong time waiting on the cashier and manager to find my account, I was on my way out the door… for the very last time. It may be hard to believe, but even walmart has it together better than this store. I doubt I will ever be back. I plan to stick with target, who actually knows how to run a store and earn repeat business!

This is an older store and fairly large for Kmart. Store is pretty well maintained all things considered. Their prices are kinda high on stuff so you have to be picky about what you pick up. Staffing is like all Kmart’s kinda lacking. They want to cut costs by reducing the amount of payroll but they end up cutting profits because no one is around to help you.

Dirty, Nasty, Dingy! Took my grandson looking for a particular toy. Hated everything about the place. Left and went to Target and experienced a complete 180 degrees from Kmart

What can you say about Big K? It’s owned by Sears and you can find good deals at a slightly lower cost. A first generation bargain store, it’s inventory has slightly, very slightly, improved. With that in mind, it’s not such a a bad idea to check the store for household items, clothes, and sporting goods. I would definitely read their weekly fliers for sales. When I moved to the Tampa area 4 years ago, I bought an entire Martha Stewart(GASP!) lanai set, 7 chairs, 2 ottomans, and 2 tables for under $ 600! An educated shopper saves $$$!
