I found the food selection, quality and value to be a five-star experience, but the service to be a half-star at best, hence my «3÷5 review»(I’d give a 2 ½ if that were possible). As a Brit, I can honestly say that the dishes were authentic and varied and the only complaints in our party were to do with how long it took for the food to arrive(close to an hour in one case) and how we were treated, not the taste or quantities of food itself. We received quite a few«snippy» comments and replies throughout and the staff were quick to blame us, the customers, for the mistakes made by the server(s) and cook. To top it off, we received quite the aggressive follow-up call to accuse us of leaving without paying, and got no hint of an apology when we read out the authorization code on our credit card receipt(again, their mistake that they were hasty to blame a customer for). They wanted the card number again, so you know that would have ended up being a double charge — I checked, the credit card transaction completed just fine. Bottom line, go there for the food, not the service, and be prepared for some frosty treatment, especially if you’re a sizeable party(we were about 18 – 20 strong). Personally, given the fact there are other similar style restaurants close-by, I suspect I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Had a large party — 30. Drinks and food were staged and worked well but the staff was not at all friendly despite the amount of business we brought in. Food was good — cod fish and chips, great salads though no explanation of other menu choices as they appeared to be too worried about the number of people. Bottom line — cool British Pub, decent food, good selection of beer BUT a staff with a poor attitude who feel they are doing the patrons a favor. Too bad as the place has potential. Enter at your own risk and with thick skin. Cheers,

Good place. Has a nice British feel to it. The drinks were good, made fast, and reasonably priced. They had a pulled pork sandwich on special that I got. BBQ is probably my favorite food, but this sandwich was not good. It was obviously that Jack Daniels pork you get at Wal-Mart, but I should have expected that. Some bars have top notch food, cooked in house. This one, however. I also got a lobster bisque, at a bar, so I should have known that would not be too good either, it wasn’t. If you go here, just drink, it’s a good bar for that, but stay away from the food, or be disappointed.

I found out about Grindhouse after attending a Phillies game at Bright House Field. There was a sign saying that if I brought my game day ticket I could get a buy one get one entrée. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much considering that was such a great deal and let me tell you it was amazing! Grindhouse has such a fun atmosphere that’s perfect for hanging out or for a date. The staff is incredibly friendly and they were very patient as I tried to go through their extensive menu and pick out what to order. It was a tough choice. When I asked about their cider selection comma owner Eric brought every fighter that they had out to the table to let me choose. He had extensive knowledge about each and we enjoyed a great conversation. What an awesome guy. I ended up ordering the shepherd’s pie because who doesn’t love a good English shepherd’s pie? It was amazing and enough food for two at least. I’m excited to go back and try their Curry selection!

Before going to a 9:30 show at Ruth Eckard Hall, we stopped in to have dinner and drinks. We had 2 hours to spare, so we ordered appetizers. We got the fried mushrooms and the sausage rolls. Both very good. The sauces really made them good. I was excited to order a curry dish and a pot pie since I had seen pics online. We ordered the creamy curry with chicken and asked them to make it more spicy since it said mild. We also ordered the suggested condiments. We also ordered the steak and ale pot pie. Both dishes were delicious! The curry dish and the Sauces were so good on the warm naan bread and the spice was perfect! I ended up eating the remainder of the sauces with a spoon so I didn’t waste any goodness. The Guinness gravy in the steak pie was so good. The pastry was flaky and cooked perfectly. The home made fries are the best! Our waitress was so attentive and she even allowed us to use 2 coupons at our table. We returned after the show and sang Karaōke to end the night. It was great. We will be back!

Love this place. I’m from Dallas and every time I come to visit my folks we have to eat here at least once. Amazing fish and chips!

No offense, but many of my friends think that British pubs holds no significant differences from Irish pubs. They all sell Guinness beer and the world famous Fish and Chip. I thought so until I had dinner at Grind House Bar & Grill, a British pub. I found out that they sell curry dishes. GH signature, Korma, Roast Chili and Garlic, Jelfrezi and club curry are the choices to serve with chicken, lamb shank, shrimp and vegetable. I should not say I was surprised that curry is a culinary choice induced from the British colonial history, but I was surprised to see the word«Curry» on an assumed average pub menu. So I tried its curry french fries($ 4.75) for appetizer. Well, the crispy fries coated with mild curry sauce delivered a shocking fact: the Brits has concurred the curry as well. The intense curry flavor indeed«dramatized» an otherwise, plain side dish. Anyway, my plan was to eat Fish and Chip. So, Haddock and Chip($ 13.99) was what I ordered. The dish came with one piece of fish and a small portion of fries. I thought it was a bit pricey for what I’ve got. But the taste was good. Honestly, how can anyone screw up a dish like Fish and Chip. Hubby was in his adventurous mood and ordered«Steak and Ale Pie.($ 13.99)» The pastry was very well prepared. It was puffy, soft and baked perfectly golden color. The beef and gravy were not equally impressed. Personally, I prefer more gravy so the pie wouldn’t be too dry. Oh well, on the other side, how does a Chinese know anything about an authentic British pie. Um… Most of the patrons are regular guests whose relaxed gesture revealed how comfortable they were in the pub. Even though the pub was under a new management, it still seemed well organized and staffs were fairly friendly. We were there on Friday afternoon around 5pm. At 6 pm the restaurant was almost full. The pub appears to be very popular among the neighbor area, not mention it is closer to Ruth Eckerd Hall. In addition, it located in shopping plaza so there are plenty parking places. I will return for more curry dishes. But no more pie.

I checked the on line menu and saw that today was B1G1 °F fish and chips day. Hubby loves fish but is disappointed in only getting a little. I saw a Buffalo flatbread that might not kill my low carb diet so off we went. I ordered the B1G1 °F fish for my hubby to have all to his lonesome in hopes of finally filling him up for an hour or two. I was told that I had to order two drinks even though it never stated that on line nor on the on site menu. Oh well, water loving me will suffer with some iced tea at an inflated price and hope it is still worth it. The fish dinner came with ONE piece of fish, albeit a rather generous size, for the $ 10 price. A few fries scattered over the rest of the plate. I took a bite of the fish and it was rather nice tasting. My flatbread pizza was not what I was expecting, a fresh looking dough base a bit thick and nice tasting, almost worth the carbs. Small pieces of chicken were basted heavily in a buffalo sauce and then topped off nicely with copious amounts of cheese. I love lots of flavor so I found it tasty but people with a weaker constitution might find the sauce too saucy for their tastes, especially since my iced tea never materialized to the table. When the bill arrived I had been not only charged full price for both pieces of fish but also for the non existent iced tea. Upon questioning the bill $ 10 was deleted for the G1 °F fish and I was given a paper cup of tea to go. While it was not the worst I have ever had it was not worth the hassle and feeling of being ripped off to return. Too many other places to try. BTW, the coffee was instant but they do warn you of that fact.

I had never heard of this place but we wanted somewhere close to Ruth Eckerd Hall since we were seeing a show. Service was a little slow but the food was pretty good. Nothing amazing but much better than I had expected since I didn’t look up any of their info. I would return here again for sure, fish(cod) and chips were very good and the scotch eggs were amazing.

We came here after playing a round of disc golf to get some dinner before we went back over the bridge to Tampa. Never heard about it before but reviews were positive so we had good expectations. I was surprised that at 6 pm there was only one server who was also tending to guests at the bar and she seemed super stressed out. Ordered a chicken curry and my boyfriend got the steak and ale pie. Food came out decently fast and the flavors were good, nothing spectacular but we left satisified. The main reason I gave 3 stars was the atmosphere just seemed tense and awkward. Hearing our server say that she was«so goddamn pissed off» and how«she wasn’t going to clean shit» as soon as a new guest would walk in just made us kinda want to get out ASAP.

Tucked away in a little corner strip mall, this Irish Pub type bar/grille turned out to be a little slice of heaven. The food was to die for, simple as it was. Potato chips made on site, crispy seasoned fries, steak cooked to perfection in the ‘steak and blue wrap’ and Stephanie(our server) was busting her behind to keep up… yet she remained pleasant, fun and upbeat. We will be back for Karaōke Tuesday or possibly to watch an event on one of their many TVs.

I’ve become a regular for karaōke nights, Friday and Saturday. I have such a great time, I haven’t had everything off the menu, but what I have had was delicious. I hear there is a new owner, looks like he is doing a great job and a few new waitstaff, which is also doing a great job! I’ll be back for sure!

Had on awesome time here New Year’s Eve and then again last week for karaōke. It’s a great place to hang out with friends and eat some great food. My personal favorites are the Sausage Rolls, the Shepherds Pie and almost any of the burgers. Keep it up — I found my new local haunt!

The two stars are for the beer selection as it is quite good. The other missing three stars are for the food poisoning I got from the puff pastry. We had four people in our party and everybody ordered something different. The middle of the night afterwerd I was sicker than a dog. Which is strange because I have eatin here several times and never had a problem. Then again I had never ordered anything other than the fish and chips(which is delicious by the way). Unfortunatley it only takes one time getting sick from a restraunt to keep you from going back. I wish it hadnt happened because I love this pub. They did switch owners which is sad because Michelle was great and she put her heart and soul into this place. I may try again some day but I imagine it will be a ways down the road.

The owner is super nice amd the sweet British lady serving really makea this place feel homey. A beer selection is at the top of my list when coming to a pub amd this place didn’t disappoint! I’m also a huge fan of scotch eggs and would come back for these delicious little treats alone. Currently hanging at the bar being temped by the smell of lamb shanks wafting from the kitchen and I just might never leave!

We really enjoyed this place before heading over to a concert at Ruth Eckert. Fun English style pub. The fish on the fish and chips is huge but really nice. The waitress and bartender were pretty cool. Btw check in coupon is expired.

I used to be a little more of a regular here, but in my deep soul searching hidden beneath 13 pounds of inexplicable weight gain, I have opted to cook more at home recently. Until a friend came back into town and said we need to go here, since that’s where we had our first one-on-one girl date. They never disappoint. All the food is homemade. I’ve tried a variety of items now– the mushy peas, the fish and chips, the shepherd’s pie, the chicken korma, and just last night, the GH Salad. I brought home some fish and chips to Justin since he couldn’t make it out with us, and he wants to go back this weekend! Read the bottom line: best fish and chips I’ve ever had, period. Yeah, I’ll be back!
