I’m amazed by what this credit union did me. I’ve only been a member of this credit union since March 2013, but this is by far the stupidest, most frustrating, and completely unnecessary banking experience I have ever had. Here’s what happened: I left $ 1000 in my savings account, which is tied to my checking account in the event of overdrafts. When a Pay Pal transfer to my checking account took a few days longer than expected to arrive, I accrued 8 overdrafts totally about $ 150.(Keep in mind I have $ 1000 in savings that more than covers this.) Rather than inform me an overdraft occurred on my checking account, Florida Central processed 6 transfers, then charged me $ 64 in NSF fees($ 32 each) for the next the next 2 overdrafts. How in the world does a person get charged NSF fees when there’s $ 850 available in savings? Boggles the mind… Their customer service was the RUDEST I’ve encountered in a long time, and when I asked for a supervisor’s contact info, I was told«We don’t give that out.» In the end I closed my account as quickly as possible. This credit union mismanaged my money, provided terrible customer support and created a completely unnecessary and frustrating situation that was completely avoidable. Stay away!
