East Bistro – The Mediterranean Eatery

As a former New Yorker, I know good food, and this is probably the best Mid eastern food I’ve had. The falafels are very fluffy and crisp… fried, not at all greasy, the greek salad very fresh with a really good vinaigrette, the hummus so good that I’ll never buy Sabra’s at the supermarket. And, for a fast food place, the environment was very, very clean and tidy. And everything is very reasonably priced. These people are providing a great service to their community and it’s important we patronize their business, or there will no longer be any small businesses in operation. Try their baklava!

I came across this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. So glad I did! It’s a tiny place in a little strip plaza, but the food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. While we were waiting for our meals, they brought out samples of other things for us to try. Awesome falafel! Hubby had the beef shawarma and I had the trifecta. So much food! We also took home dessert, some little pistachio cookies and a nut filled pastry, which were fabulous. Hubby has already been back twice for lunch! We will definitely become regulars!

We have to keep this place in business! Not to say they are in trouble, but this is by far the best Mediterranean place in the area, and by area I mean Pinellas and Hillsborough county. They season everything just perfect. The chicken and beef schwarma were excellent. The lentil soup is amazing. They even told me if I wanted a particular soup like the mushroom to call ahead and they will make if for me. They just need a days notice. Excellent service!!! You must try this place if you haven’t already.

Best chicken shawarma in Pinellas County, hands down. Stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the chicken shawarma pita wrap. The place was empty so we were lucky to have missed the lunch rush. A few minutes after ordering our lunch was delivered. My pita had been pressed served hot with sauce dripping out after each delicious bite.
The price was reasonable, the service was excellent and the food outstanding! With a variety of vegan options, authentic middle eastern foods like babaganosh and desserts we will be back to try more!

Excellent locally owned spot with reasonable prices. There are foodstuffs and prepared food available. The staff puts lots of love and skill into their culinary creations. Bread and manicotti were especially good!

With all the wonderful reviews on here already, maybe I don’t need to reiterate how unbelievable the falafel is or how fresh their tabbouleh tastes – but I will. This restaurant’s amazing Middle Eastern (not Greek) cuisine has earned it a spot in my weekly rotation. Clean, modern, and delicious – the three words I’d use to summarize East Bistro. Whether you’re a meat eater or vegetarian, you’ll find something to love.

This place is a gem. Very few restaurants hold 5 stars. This place deserves them all. The quality of the food is superb. Friendly staff. I’m glad I stop by.

If you’re looking for the typical Greek Gyro place, don’t go there. This is not your Americanized Mediterranean food. This is authentic, well made Mediterranean food. Not even a Gyro on the menu, and you won’t miss it.
Place looks unassuming in small strip mall. Clean with friendly employees.
So many things to chose from, I decided to try a meat pie with cheese, a Trifecta (beef kebab, chicken kebab, kibbeh, rice, hummus, and tabouleh, and a Knafeh, and a Basbousa for desert (don’t judge me! My wife was out of town and ordering to have enough for dinner).
The meat pie with cheese did not look appetizing, but it tasted amazing! Perfectly seasoned meat. Could taste they use high quality products.
The beef Kabab was unbelievable! Amazingly seasoned, juicy, and melts in your mouth.
Chicken was exactly the same.
Kibbeh was great as well. Outside was not too thick and crusty. Inside full of meat. Humus was wonderful, and rice perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Both deserts will be described the same. Holy crap I wanna slap somebody it’s so good. Sweet but not too sweet, crispy outside, and soft inside, yum, yum, yum, yumyumyumyum!!!
Oh yeah, will be back! A LOT!!!

Family owned and found in a non descript strip center, this place is phenomenal. The food was fabulous, well priced and made with love by the husband and wife duo.
My friend and I ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken schwarma. Both were exceptional, fresh and full of flavor.
Their display case was full of tasty looking treats and I picked a few things to take home, including their freshly made pitas.
Don’t let the outside fool you… this is some of the best Syrian/​middle eastern food found in largo.

The four of us sampled a variety of dishes. I had a cup of lentil soup & tabouleh. Daughter had the Falafel platter. Husband had a Med Pizza.
One downside is they are currently open until 7 pm.
Will return and try one of the other platters-​but probably only for lunch. Not my idea of a relaxing dinner place, not when ones food is served in take out containers.

East Bistro offer stone oven food that is delicious. Under $ 10 you can filled you stomach with great food. This is small businesses we need to support. I think they are better alternatives than the fast food such as McDonald.
I pass by here a lot but never go into the restaurant. This restaurant has some sit down place. This is almost like cafeteria order at the counter and pick up the food. However, they have good food. I have order to go. I have order the Kibbeh, beef kabab and atayef. The kibbeh is ground beef in cracked wheat shell. It is delicious. The kabab are the kofta with season ground beef and grilled over the open flame. It come with rice, baba Ghanoush and tabouleh. Mmmm good. I also have the dessert that is not in the menu. The Atayef-​Arabic pancake stuff with walnut. They fried and dip in honey syrup before it serve.
I gave 5 star for good pricing, good food, fresh ingredients, cook on the spot, and attentive service.

Fresh ingredients. Best humus I have ever had. First time having chicken shawarma, and it’s very good. Very nice people! Well be a regular stop when I am in town!

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Trifecta so I could try a little bit of everything. It consisted of Beef Kebab, Kibbeh, Chicken Kebab, My choice of Babaghanouj or Hummus, rice and choice of salad. I chose the Fatoosh. Everything on the plate was very enjoyable. For Meat the chicken kebab definitely stood out. Very flavorful, and tender. The hummus and pita were great, and I even ate all the yellow rice which was spiced perfectly. I came in with family and we were all very impressed with this place that we even bought a bagful of desserts to go.
I wish I knew the name of the dessert I ordered, there was no sign for it, but it was out of this world. Check my pics. It looks like an Empanada. U must must must order it! There are 2 kinds, One filled with cheese, one filled with walnuts, order both! They are deep fried, then soaked in honey, and sprinkled with pistachios. Kind of like Greek loukoumades, but better. AMAZING! Go in and try this place, you won’t be sorry. It’s owned by a very nice family. Go support your local businesses:-)
Update: Name of the dessert is Katayef

I wasn’t sure if I was just that hungry when I stopped in here for a late afternoon meal, or if the food was really that friggin good. After careful consideration and deep meditation, I’ve concluded that the food really is that friggin good.
The restaurant is clean, with a full view of the food preparation station. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma and the Falafel wrap. I normally order a couple different dishes when trying a new place so that I can get a good sampling, but I normally don’t finish it all. Not the case with this place, everything was so good the glutton in me came out and I couldn’t stop eating.
The Chicken Shawarma had a tasty seasoning and was delightful. The hummus was completely awesome. I don’t even know how to describe the Falafel Wrap. After the first bite I was trapped in a glass cage of emotion. I will definitely be coming back for another.
Get here. Eat. Repeat.

Oh my word. I don’t know where to even start. My taste buds exploded in my mouth as I bit into every bit of food I was given. So I accompanied my friends here, wasn’t going to eat anything but ended up trying the Herb Pie (Zaatar) ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. My Friend had the Beef Shawarma pita wrap and said it was one of the best she’s had and very filling.
They were so attentive with our group giving us falafel and Bosbousa on the HOUSE! They were so nice and the prices were so reasonable. Another recommendation was the Trifecta. My friend gave me some of his and it was delicious as well!!! They know how to season their food and treat their customers like they’re family. Will definitely be coming back again.

What a horrible experience. We picked up the last order to go before they closed at 7PM. We received RAW chicken and soggy kebeh’s. We tried to call, however they were closed. They still have a LONG way to go.

Everything I ordered is AMAZING. I had chicken shawarma which was to die for and whichever spices they out on the rice is u like anything I’ve tasted but so delicious. The hummus was out of this world! The tabbouleh that came with my platter was so fresh and just as delicious. I can’t wait to go back here. A really nice surprise Unilocal helped me to find during the work hours. I highly recommend!

The food here is fresh and delicious. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this place and I am so glad it’s right on the corner near my house. Last night, we came for dinner and I had the chicken kabob with yellow rice, hummus and fattoush. My dinner was fantastic. For dessert I had the knafeh made from scratch. Today I’m in here for lunch and am going to try the chicken shawarma wrap and am sure to be just as satisfied as I was last evening. If you love a good home cooked Middle Eastern meal this is the place!
I’d also like to note that the prices are very reasonable.

Let me first state that i am originally from dearborn Heights Michigan, where its like little Beirut and u have all sorts of lebanese restaurant there … 3 years later after i moved i can finally say i have had amazing Chicken Shawarma and even the beef shawarma was really good… I walled in to a nice setting, looks really good. Now this was my first visit and i am sure I’ll be going back but for now i am completely satisfied … This is in largo, so i hope a lot of people get introduced to Lebanese/​Arab/​Mediterranean food
