Albertsons

I got CHEATED AGAIN today with their false prices! I will in the future go to the new Walmart Market hat has opened up
across the street,

After coming here from Cali I was happy to see a familiar grocery store, but wondered why the parking lot was always empty… After a few trips to Publix and not finding a few things we always bought in Cali we thought we would give this store a shot. It had a few of the things we were looking for but wow is it GHETTO.
It does have a few things that you won’t find in Publix, but It is definitely not the cleanest store I have been in and you have some interesting customers walking around as well. Also, every time I have gone in here it has had a very unique smell. Not sure what it is, but not something I expected to be greeted with when I walk in to a grocery store.
Still trying to figure out how this place stays in business, when it is right across the street from Publix and down the road from Costco and Sam’s Club.

I went to Albertson’s because my mom is obsessed with this store. I usually frequent Publix but thought I’d give this a try hoping I could maybe get some better deals on every day food items. We are from the Midwest and our favorite store from back home was Jewel which is owned by the same company as Albertson’s so I had high expectations. Boy was I disappointed. The store is old which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it is up kept well, but this one doesn’t seem like it is. Its not necessarily dirty, but its not clean either like my beloved Publixs in the area (this sounds bias but I really went in with an open mind hoping I’d find my new favorite store). My first stop was at the Deli which had a very small selection. I got honey ham which is actually good but there aren’t a lot of choices for next time or a lot of cheese choices so I chose one I normally wouldn’t. Produce is nice and bountiful and decently priced. Butcher area is small with a small selection of fresh choices. They do have a lot of sales on their packaged meat (buy one get one or even buy one get 2). My mom swears by their pork chops (all varieties) so I picked up a couple packages but haven’t had them yet. I picked up other items but my opinion is they are normal priced in comparison to other stores in the area or even more expensive. it seems that Albertson’s is a good place to shop only with sales. I guess I have been spoiled with other stores in the area that have a great staff and are kind when asking if i need help to my car (especially when i have 2 small children with me) and i did not get this here. Also the parking lot is not brightly lit up enough for my liking, especially since there is a public bus stop right in front of the store. Unless they have some amazing sale on meat or seafood or other things that we frequently buy I probably wont go back to shop here.

Will not hire felons… even with clean background for the last 8 years… very bummed out because I was hired and given the best schedule and good starting pay! I really wish they would of considered me… I am a good choice, on top of needing a job and living right around the corner! totally bummed!

For whatever reason, Albertsons gives us a good feeling inside. Even though Publix is competitvely priced also, there’s something about Albertson’s that brings out the loyalty in a person. While there is nothing fancy about this store, it is no frills shopping at its best. I know, I know, what a crock of shyt, right? Seriously, we love the fruit and veggies from Alberstons, especially the one on Ulmerton in Clearwater. The staff is always friendly and kind. Once found expired juice on the shelf and the staff was pretty accommodating in getting it pulled. Verdict: 4 stars.
