We checked in to the Sleep Inn across the street after a long day’s drive, hungry and tired. It was late and I asked the gal at the desk if there was anywhere still open to eat besides the McDonald’s next door. She said there was an Italian place across the street. We walked across the street and saw a gas station with attached convenience store, and what looked like a restaurant. Boy were we bummed when the restaurant appeared out of business. About to go back to the hotel when I looked in the convenience store and there was a food counter/small kitchen in the back. And they were cooking up pizza and pastas. We got four pastas to go and waited 20 mins or so until they were ready(not some sort of pre-made or microwave thing) and took them back to our hotel. And the food was really good! Anyway, there’s no way you know that good Italian food was to be had at this gas station convenience store just from driving by. But if you’re in the area, try it. And the good news is, the guys told me that they were in the process of opening a real restaurant in the building next door(the one we thought was an out-of-business restaurant). I predict they will do real well.

All I have to say is that the food and service was great, me and my wife stopped to get some gas and we saw that they were making food and decided to tryout, so glad we did. I had a steak special and my wife had a lasagna. I couldn’t believe that they could make such good food in a convenience store. I asked for their recommendations, and the gentleman(I think was the owner) had a great attitude and was willing to answer whatever questions we had. We will definitely be stopping by next time we’re in town. I wish they had more locations. Best food I’ve had on the road by far.

Great pizza, OVERPRICED Gas(go across the street). The pizza here is fantastic and a nice stop after a day at Whitetail. He has a couple booths so you can eat in or take it out. If you call and place an order when you are leaving the Whitetail parking lot, it’ll be ready when you arrive. His gas prices are ridiculous. If you are buying regular, he matches the prices of the Liberty across the street, but the Mid-Grade and Super gases are ALWAYS20CENTSHIGHER per gallon than the Liberty. It’s too bad because I used to always stop for gas and snacks on the way back from the mountain. Now I stop at the Liberty, and only pull in to Al’s if I’m really craving some ‘za. But I now never buy his gas. Please note this is a BP gas station and convenience store. So it isn’t particularly clean or your typical restaurant. But in a small town without much to offer, the pizza and subs from here are pretty good.

Amazing pizza and right across from the Sleep Inn in Clear Spring, MD. A little mom and pop joint located in a convenience store, you can either stop by and order and get snacks & drinks in person or order delivery for a great price of $ 2 to your room. We ate there two nights in a row, it was so tasty. We tried the XL white pizza(looooved it) and XL pepperoni pizza plus their yummylicious generously sized curly fries. New York traditional crust makes it some of the best pizza I’ve had on the road. Well worth it and they are friendly & fast!

Before you read my review of this place know that I’m a local. I used to go here a lot for pizza. If you like food poisoning and a rude owner checking you out then this is the place for you. I’d give it less than one star if I could. It’s dirty the customer service is crap. Not to mention the food poisoning I got from the wings that had me in bed for 4 days. I won’t buy anything from here. If you need gas or drinks or snacks go to liberty across the street.
