We stopped in here for dinner after a day of skiing with lots of hungry stomachs! Honestly we were a little skeptical after walking in. There was a leak from the ceiling so there were buckets strategically placed within the dining facility to catch the water, the carpet looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in many years, and there were ceiling panels missing above our table to which we could see the fiberglass insulation above. Pretty sure this isn’t kosher in a dining area of a restaurant. The seats were full of crumbs and old food between the cushion and the back, and several pieces of silverware needed to be sent back to be cleaned again. The staff were very friendly and took very good care of us, and the food surprised us the most. We honestly had some major reservations about what would come out of the kitchen but at this point we were hungry and needed to eat! The fettuchini alfredo was delicious with a home made sauce. The chicken strips were fresh, hand breaded and delicious, not some frozen stuff like most restaurants pass off to their customers. The burgers were thick and well done with plenty of trimmings. All very delicious. I wouldn’t have a problem stopping here again but wish they would take a little more time to keep the place up.

Food is decent, a diverse menu with plenty of options. The dining room is depressing and dull, but friendly servers unlike the bar, inappropriate, rude, terrible service.

The little bread sticks and artichoke dip were great. I asked for more and they gladly gave us another round of them. Salad was good although I do not like beets so I took those off. The pull apart bread and garlic butter pesto sauce was hot and yummy. Kicking breath tonight. I had the ribeye steak for my main course. Steak was good, I like mine with a little more salt and this one was a little on the less seasoned side but still good.

We chose to eat dinner here over someplace at the Suncadia Resort where we were staying. Amazing Mac and cheese, and side veggies rivals a 4 star restaurant, portions are generous. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. Would definitely come back when in the area.

what a disappointment, we have been stopping at the Sunset Café for years and years, Stopped with a friend yesterday for lunch and was blown away at the horrible lunch menu… my friend wanted a turkey, BLT with Avocado, but oops. NO turkey today. HUH? but can be done with chicken breast? the chicken was horrible in her opinion, and was left on the plate. I had a BLT that was no bigger that a half sandwich, they used to have the best Reuben on earth but no more according to our server who said the cook did not want to deal with a large lunch menu?(3 sandwhiches and 3 burgers a couple salads and a few sides(that they were not out of) was the menu. Guess that was all he could handle… we were informed it was«free» pie day but in looking at the pies in the case as we walked in they all looked old, so we passed. I will be looking for a new favorite place to stop for lunch.

Horrible food with crappy service Seems the locals get served and tourists are ignored. The wait staff is always on break but you can’t even get any water. We have been to this place several times and noticed this. Jut plain poorly managed.

We were a party of 5 with various food allergies, so not an easy group to accommodate. The staff didn’t hesitate to accommodate our needs and were friendly and pleasant. The chef hand cut a ribeye steak and it was the most tender steak my husband has ever eaten. One of the kids had chicken tenders, which were fresh chicken strips, battered onsite, and tasty even by adult standards. My smoked salmon salad with blue cheese and huckleberry dressing was fantastic and the salmon was smoked onsite to perfection. My son’s burger was ground by the chef, moist, and delicious. Our friend’s ravioli was also made in-house. So good!

Came in to town looking for apple pie since Cle Elum Bakery didn’t have any. We went to Sunset Café and they had the apple caramel pie… all time favorite now! Best pie place ever!

Three stars because of how slow the service and food were. Didn’t even get menus until 10 minutes after being seated and took forever for waitress to come and take our order. Once order was in, the food took well over ½ hour for mostly basic breakfast food. The food itself was the only thing that kept me from giving a 1 star review. Food was very good, but being that I have small children, I would probably not suffer through the slow service again while in Cle Elum.

Met my family here as they recommended it and was told how great it was for breakfast. We had a good experience and the food was good. Wasn’t what they talked it up to be but I would go back and try it again.

We enjoyed a light dinner as I had the senior soup, salad and bread. Each item was fantastic! We are passing through from California. We are recommending this comfy, pleasant café to our Seattle friends who might like a nice drive over this way for a day trip. The wait staff amazed us with their friendly service. Go here. You won’t be disappointed.

Bring your imodium! This place was aweful. I ate here on a Tuesday night and the place was dead. My server promptly came up immediately after I sat down and asked me if I knew what i wanted to order. I did not… so TEN minutes later she came back. I ordered a steak salad and a cup of clam chowder. After waiting another 25 minutes my food came. The chowder was terrible. It was not thick, but paste like with chunks of dehydrated flour still in it(i suppose it was homemade) and a pool of grease on top. Vile. But worst of all it was incredibly sour. My steak was fine and what I expected but they lathered up my lettuce in oil and microwaved it until it was HOT and wilted. It literally smelled like garbage. After about another 20 minutes my aloof waiter asked me if I was done, but never thought about asking if I enjoyed my meal. I said yes and she quickly scampered off to grab my check. When she returned I explained that my food was terrible. She quickly told me she’d take half off my check. This concession was made entirely too quickly, almost as if it were a guteral instinct, which leads me to believe that this happens ALLTHETIME. Do yourself a favor and consider taco bell. Your intestines will thank you.

Only been here for breakfast. The food is good, and service was fine. We got the food in a timely manner and it’s not greasy! Will go again as well.

Don’t go! Service and everything about this place is horrible unless you are part of the handful of regulars that must get special service as this is the only reason I can come up with why anyone is at this restaurant. There are other great choices in CleElum.

We came out for the Easter Brunch($ 25), its your classic roadside diner(so don’t expect a glistening interior), but they convert one of the dining rooms into a buffet line. Food was pretty good, prepared in small batches for freshness, and frequently ‘freshened’. Oyster shooters, clams, mussels, fake crab, oysters Rockefeller, lots of breakfast meats and variations on scrambled eggs, sliced ham, lots of fruit, and a wonderful dessert table. Service was great, servers swarmed making sure plates were cleared, punch/coffee topped off. We’ll be back!

My boyfriend and I came here last night for a Reuben(like I said… It’s good!!!) and some dessert. Nicole sat us the bar and Marta helped us with our order and drinks. Service is great. Everyone seems to know everyone, and that makes it comfortable. We had some cheesecake, berry pie and crème brûlée. All were good!

This place is great! Staff is very attentive. I had the French dip super good! The Mac-n-Cheese side was delicious. The bread roll that comes with soup is dripping with garlic butter! Family friendly place! I would come here to eat if I was passing through again.

Great food, lots of things are homemade in the restaurant. Breadsticks with garlic artichoke dip they bring out in the beginning is so good. Kid/family friendly. Service can be very slow at times because they seem understaffed. Waitresses are very nice and competent. Overall a great place! We like stopping here during travel.

We ate here a couple nights ago and were totally satisfied. The food was good quality and the service was prompt and pleasant. This is a standard American family-style restaurant. I enjoyed the cheese ravioli, and my daughter enjoyed the meat ravioli. My wife was delighted that they had gluten-free buns for the burgers and particularly enjoyed the fresh sautéed vegetables. I was tempted by their homemade chocolate peanut butter pie, but restrained myself.
