Café is closed until Jan 122016. We called before & there was no mention of current closure Their recording stated the days & hours open We went & found the closed till January sign so we went to the Red Bird Café which will be our new go to spot whenever we are in the area!!! Very Bad customer service to not update their phone recording!!!

This little hole in the wall restaurant was recommended to me by one of my customers. After hearing all of the great things about this place, I figured I should try it for myself. The main cook who works there has great customer service and makes amazing food. She always makes sure that sue leaves her customers happy. The restaurant is extremely small, I prefer to order out to take home. Their prices are super cheap– especially since both tip and tax are INCLUDED in the price. That’s one thing that concerns me since all of the food is homemade and cheap, I’m not very sure how they’ll stay afloat. I highly reccomend, just make sure to make reservation or order take out!

Don’t be put off by the quirky«menu,» which is the same as the order sheet used by the waitress. The Great Spot serves good hearty home-made food with a twist. We had the porchetta(pork loin stuffed Italian-style with garlic and herbs), topped with mushrooms, and beet soup & avocado-topped green salad with a nice fresh lemon vinaigrette. The menu has lots of meat and potato choices, and comes with homemade bread with garlic butter. Worth a try, for sure.

Stopped on way home after a weekend of wine tasting. What a great end to a fabulous weekend. This is my new stop going both ways to and from chelan.

This place is a gem. The food is organic, home cooked and perfect. The dining room is pretty, clean with a peekaboo view of the kitchen. I felt like I should have paid more for that wonderful meal.

Gorm loves sandwiches and is incredibly picky where they are concerned. As he ate the porchetta sandwich, he stated«now, that is a fantastic sandwich.» Fresh ingredients, homemade organic bread. This is prepared when ordered so don’t go if you are in a rush. But do go if you want delicious food at low prices. Two sandwiches with two side salads and one beer was 21 with tax and tip.

Beautiful sandwiches and wonderful service! We stopped by here with our puppy as just wanted a simple dog friendly place to eat. It was fantastic. The porchetta sandwiches with homemade bread and organic ingredients was excellent — and they were kind enough to bring our dog some water and a plate of yummy scraps! I had a glass of wine which was also nice. Highly recommend this café to anyone passing through Cle Elum.

A nice, hidden gem in Cle Elum! Feels like I had a home-cooked meal at grandma’s house. Tasty borscht, prime rib. Organic veggies. Homemade desserts.

Really hope this place succeeds. The quality of the food is extraordinary for the area. Style would best be described as upscale home cooking with high quality organic ingredients. Pricing is so reasonable that it puts other dining options in Cle Elum/Roslyn to shame.(Think Suncadia Resort) Tax and tip is included which makes it an even better value. An example would be the porchetta lunch plate which includes garlic bread, a healthy slab of perfectly seasoned porchetta along with potato and mixed vegetables. All for $ 12 no tax no tip. There is nowhere in the area close to delivering the amount and quality of food at this price point. Word of mouth is beginning to spread, so expect it can get crowded at lunch time. The dining room can seat around 22. Reservations are a must on dinner nights.(Fri, Sat, Sun). They are still learning the ropes on service and process, so it can get a bit slow when busy. As new employees are brought on and the staff learns the ropes, that issue should disappear.

Lovely! We just had the most delicious lunch! Fresh made food! Very reasonable with good portion sizes! The beet soup and the broccoli soup were both delectable! The very fresh Greek salad with avocados was perfect. The porchetta and chicken filet both very tasty. And dessert cakes were light and not overly sweet. The owners were so friendly. The chef is sweet and it was so great to hear her philosophy on healthy food. Her food is just the best I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back!

My daughter and I were driving to Idaho from Seattle. Due to an accident on I90 that caused a big delay, we had to stop for dinner closer to Seattle than we wanted. Drove through Cle Elum and nothing looked very exciting. Circled back to Great Spot since it looked interesting. It was a Saturday night and they had a few specials including prime rib for $ 22(including soup, salad, bread, potatoes and vegetables). I was particularly pleased because the prime rib was cooked perfectly to medium rare… usually seem to get it over cooked. Our server was filling in for a waitress that called in sick, but did a nice job. When we asked for the bill, he said it was $ 16 per dinner including tax and tip. I corrected him and added a nice tip because I don’t see how they can stay in business charging so little. Really, it’s a bargain. The prime rib was available only on weekends. I think the other specials were salmon and some kind of pork steak. Besides being very reasonably priced, everything is made from scratch. The waiter didn’t tell us, but you could taste it… salad was just tossed, and potatoes were still firm. Anyway, a real unexpected treat.
