Did take-out. Was 20 min which was very reasonable. Ordered black and blue cheese burger. Very good and right on with medium rare. Side salad was very good included fresh spring greens, tomato and onion. They forgot my lettuce, tomato and onion I asked for with the burger hence the lack of 5th star. We also got the nachos which were good.

This place is very accommodating. We’ve been there a few times and the service is fantastic. It’s really tiny though.

We came here based on the reviews we saw on Unilocal. My husband wanted the calamari and do we called and asked if they had it, and we were told yes. So off we went. We were greeted immediately and seated. We asked for the calamari and they didn’t serve it any longer. What!?! But we called… they were sorry for the confusion. We decided to eat there anyway because out daughter wanted to listen to the music. I ordered the shrimp po boy and asked if it came with ramolaude sauce… Yes, it does. Got my sandwich… no ramilaude sauce. I asked for it on the side. They brought it… it wasn’t even ramolaude! It was extremely spicy. The food was meh. I gave it 3 stars because it was some of the absolute best service we have ever had.

After living in Raleigh for a few years, it’s amazing to find in Clayton such a comfortable little rustic pub with delicious food. We kept it simple ordering burgers and calamari. Both were fresh, cooked well and not greasy. The staff and other patrons were very friendly and upbeat. Service was good and our food came out fast. We’ll be back!

My husband and I met both of our parents here for lunch one Sunday after we moved a few things into our new apartment. We didn’t really realize it wasn’t a big restaurant, just a smaller bar type eatery. Bless the waitress because I think she was the only one working out front and she seemed a bit overwhelmed to see all of us walk in. She handled all of us well. Food was super tasty and portions were generous for lunch. I’m somewhat tempted to come back for a night when they have a band or karaōke. Great place to try out.

Had a burger here, expecting a lot due to so many good reviews. service was good, but the burger was the epitome of mediocrity.

It took us a while to try this place, but I’m glad we finally made it in. We had 2 adults, 2 small kids so we did the early bird dinner time of 5:00 on the dot. There were a few people hanging out, but we were about the only diners. It’s an old place. The floors creaky and uneven, the tables rock and the chairs tip. I’ll get that part out of the way. But, the food was great and the staff were super nice and accommodating to us and the kids. In fact, I think even some of the people talking to the kids were just other patrons! Nice people all around. The kids had pizza, which was pretty good looking, seemed fresh and hot. Kids liked them. Hubs had a Deep River burger with bacon and a fried egg, it says avocado, but he says it was lacking that. He said it was great, one of the best burgers in the area. Made just right. I had the gyro. It’s not the typical lamb/beef loaf meat. It’s smoked sliced lamb –almost like slices of tender roast beef. Besides the tasty meat, there was fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and very good tzatiki sauce. A very good sandwich, and change of pace from the areas burger and bbq offerings. Fries were just ok, good for dipping in extra sauce! Child free evening out? Sure, we’d go back all the time. With kids? Not the best option, but not bad for something different.

This is the 2nd time here with family who live in Clayton, what a great place to eat! Great«Pub Grub» and beer selections. There Reuben is excellent, burgers are made to order with all the different twists, everything is fresh! There sides not only include fries but buffalo spicy fries, sweet potato fries and various salads to include pasta. Well worth the visit, will be back again with more friends. Thanks: o)

Best burgers and cheese sticks in Clayton! It’s also a great place to hang out and enjoy the band but the star of the place is definitely the food! Service has always been pretty good as well.

The food here is amazing. The Ruben was perfect, the fries cooked just right with just the right amount of salt. My wife’s burger was mouth watering and the shrimp stuffed avocado is, hands down, the best appetizer I’ve ever had. The service is wonderful and prompt. I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I had a late lunch here last Sunday. I had eaten here about a year ago with a friend and remembered it being good, but then forgot about it. We happened to be driving by on the way to Manning’s, saw it, and thought we’d give it a try. I’m glad we did! The food was very good. We started with the Mozz sticks appetizer. It was unlike any Mozz sticks I’ve ever had. It’s hard to describe, but I think the difference is they started with fresh, soft cheese and not the hard or frozen kind. The sticks were so rich that we could barely finish them — so only get these if you have four or more people to share. My patty melt was great — well cooked, not too greasy, and a great mix of flavors. I LOVE the sweet potato fries — the seasoning on them is outstanding. I think its a mix of salt, sugar, and maybe something else. My husband got the trio of quesadilla at the server’s recommendation, and they were excellent. The service was good and the food was delivered with good timing. However, I can’t say if this is normal, since the only other people in the restaurant were a group drinking at the bar. My one negatives for the place was the cleanliness and level of repair. Our tables and menus were clean, but the chairs need to be replaced and there was thick dust up on the exposed ductwork. Worse, the place smelled like a bar. I realize that’s part of what this place is, but some freshening up, deep cleaning and maybe better air change-overs are needed.

Been here twice now… food is really good by Clayton standards. service has been consistent and they know what they are doing… the establishment itself is outdated and old… they could really use a makeover! We came here tonight(Tuesday) and by the time we were leaving a guy was setting up to play music? Thought it was odd, don’t know what kind of music either.

This place is pretty cool. The service was great and the food was pretty tasty. The atmosphere was nice. I recommend this place if you want a cold beer and good food. It is a little pricey, but worth it.

What a find! Looked for a place we hadn’t been to and stumbled on this place. Enjoyed some cold local brews from Deep River. We ordered the sampler appetizer(Thai bbq wings, Portobello mushroom fries and onion rings) Absolutely delicious! We will without a doubt be back!

Ate here a few Sundays ago for the first time. Thought the food was really good. The mozzarella sticks are amazing. Had a BBQ cheeseburger and it was fantastic. My wife had a buffalo chicken wrap and loved it. Will def come back for dinner

Owner sits &drinks there all the time. Sometimes he drinks too much & argues with the staff or customers. Ordered a sambuca & it was flat. Tried to ask for a new bottle to be opened and was told no. Then I was told that I did not know what I was talking about. Then I was told not to come back. Owner is a liability.

This place not too far from our home, in Clayton. We’ve been a few times for drinks but they were always picking up the dinner tables and starting the live bands or karaōke when we arrived so no chance to catch dinner until we went on Thursday Night around 8:00 pm this week. Its quite the local place, with loyal regulars which tend to make any«outsiders» feel a little odd coming in there. But that could be a good sign, right? I was looking forward to dinner here because they have a nice menu and there have been some really good reviews. Well, we had a bit of a rough time, I think it was mainly due to the service. First it was a little slow to arrive. Once our waiter got there I ordered the Pasta Special that came with a Salad and bread, and Fish and Chips which my BF ordered a Side Salad. We also ordered the Pub Fries with Cheese and Bacon and Ranch as an appetizer. Yummy Pub Fries! But my honey’s Salad came and mine did not. I figured mine would come with my meal, so I filled up on those yummy gooey fries while he enjoyed his salad, darn it! Finally our meals came to rescue me from those fries but still no salad. Unfortunately my pasta was only lukewarm. :-(Really good, but cold on the outside, warm on the inside. I ate some of the inside while we waited for someone to come check on us and when someone(not our waiter) came by to see how we were doing we let her know we were missing a salad, AND my honey’s Fish n’ Chips Cocktail Sauce was frozen, un-dippable, and my pasta was cold around the outside. We decided to pack up what was left to go, including the missing salad, since we were pretty full on Pub Fries and a few bites of dinner by then. The Fish N Chips was not very good… a very thick batter was fried on the outside and soft and mushy on the inside, with soft mushy Fish inside(it was hard to tell where the batter stopped and the fish started). In fact, the next day nothing was good to re-heat, the pasta was no longer visually appealing and the Fish N Chips wasn’t that great to begin with. I did doctor up the salad with my own fixings though and it was good the next day. Even after all that, I might give this place another try(although it’ll probably be awhile). I’m not sure why they were so off but if they were ‘on’ it could be a good place for a good meal and a funky bar type environment, not too far from home.

I was dying for a burger but wanted something better than regular fast food. Saw that the menu offered wings so my husband was sold. We ordered out and will definitely do so again. My burger was high quality beef and cooked perfectly. The bun was delicious and soft and my sweet potato fries were to die for. My husband got Thai chili and medium wings and said they were great, but not the best he’s ever had. The steak fries weren’t very crispy, but I think that’s cause they sat in the to go box for a bit. Four stars because my burger didn’t come with any sauce on it and the menu said it did. It’s a little pricey too, not a place we will go for a quick meal again. But I’d recommend it.

Lunch was outstanding and cheap. Went back to see some local(?) band. Music was WAY too loud and lights were WAY to bright. Most patrons on the Saturday night that I went were over 50 and pounding wings at 9pm, maybe best to stay on the deck.
