Second Nature Blue Ridge

Second Nature Wilderness Program, Blue Ridge is an amazing program! I cannot say enough positive things about it and we will always be eternally grateful to them and their employees. Without their entire staffs’ help and intervention, our daughter would not be alive today. It is just that simple. The decision to send your child away to a wilderness program is a gut wrenching one and I am writing this review to help support others, who may be in similar shoes as we were a year and a half ago. Second Nature kept our daughter safe. They provided truly remarkable and well trained field staff to support her emotionally as well as physically to live in the wilderness. She received incredible therapy while there which, was supported by the field staff along with the wilderness experience itself. Second Nature does an amazing job educating and supporting parents and families, from their homes, by providing access to both live and taped video webinars, which helped us to help ourselves, our other children and our daughter. Our therapist Greta, worked directly with us weekly during hour long sessions and always relayed our written communication and telephone conversations to our daughter. My daughter today is so grateful that we were able to access Second Nature and she has told me, «you saved my life.» Second Nature prepared her for the continued work she needed to do at a therapeutic boarding school where she could finally reveal the trauma that had caused her emotional decline, work to heal the hole inside her heart and resume her college preparatory education to enjoy her teenage life as it should be.

The women therapist Erika at second nature only want to hear her version of what the truth was. When you try to induct reality into the situation. You and the reality are dismissed. All my letters to my son were read by this so called therapest, and then she called me to re-​write them because they had truth and reality in them. So anything of substance you wish to convey to your child will never be delivered. It will only be white washed. You will not be able to talk to your child when they are imprisoned there, On my one and only allowed visit, I couldnt get a minute alone with my son. Only the shrink assigned to your child will be able to communicate to your loved one. The website is misleading. It paints a nice picture, but it’s a hell hole in the woods.
Seek other facilities for your loved one; Not in the woods of Clayton, GA at Second Nature.
