Will probably never do business with Tennessee Gun Country again unless they are the only person in town that has what I’m looking for. I went in last week and met«Guy» who is the gunsmith that works out of their store. Talked about some rifle barrel work I wanted done, he gave me his card and I told him I would bring the barrel in the next day. No one told me that he only works there 3 days a week. Either way had to get it done when my schedule would allow so I dropped the barrel off. The salesperson behind the counter after telling me that«Guy» was not in said he would take my information and get the barrel to him for work. Taking my information constituted a yellow sticky note with my name and number, not an official receipt or anything like a work order form, just a sticky note which seemed very unprofessional. Well he called me the next day to tell me the barrel would be ready on Saturday, unfortunately I was unable to get in on Saturday so I had to pick it up on Sunday. I arrived at the store and the clerk asks if he can help me, I said yes I have a barrel here to pick up. He goes in the back and comes back with nothing and says he can’t find it and I should come back when the gunsmith is there. I told him the barrel is here somewhere because he called me and told me it was ready. He goes back and comes back with the barrel however it is missing something that was supposed to be part of the work done. So he has to go call the gunsmith who says he ran out so he reduced the price of the work. So I asked the salesman is they sold it there and he says no. So I decided to just pay the bill and be done with it. I hand him my credit card and he says«oh for his work you have to pay in cash». Obviously highly irritated already I said«so let me get this straight, you take guns for this guy with information on a sticky note, the job gets done but is missing a part that you don’t sell, and now I have to be further inconvenienced by having to leave and find an ATM because it has to be paid in cash. When was someone in this store going to inform the customer of all of this?» Then some older gentlemen pipes in «Sir, he doesn’t work for us he just does work for people out of here» so I replied«well if he does work out of your store it is a reflection of your business and quite frankly from this customers point of view it’s a piss poor reflection». So I went and got the money and came back to pay, as I was paying I asked if there was any documentation from the gunsmith stating what was done? There was none, all I know is there is some guy named«Guy». Now don’t get me wrong the gunsmith did his job, well most of it, he could have told me that he ran out of the part when he called me. I just think Tennessee Gun Country needs to re-evaluate its business practices.
