Atmosphere was a dive. Plywood floors. Old worn seats and tables. They should cover the tables with a table cloth. Dark — would hardly read menu due to the darkness and such small font type. Ordered a platter and they made all these substitutions without telling us about the food that wasn’t available. The hummus was excellent though — smooth, light, and airy. The grape leaves appetizer was very good too. Rice was cold and tasted old/reheated. The baklava didn’t resemble anything I have eaten before. Very dense and no chipped nuts. It is also a hookah bar if you are into that thing.

If I could give 2.5 stars I would, because the food was pretty much average but the atmosphere was not at all inviting for a lunchtime destination. I am sure this is a great after hours bar type establishment, but not a restaurant. The food was not horrible, but it was not good enough to make me desire to have it again. The atmosphere, however, was bad enough that I almost left as soon as I walked in. I hate to give a less than positive review, but I just can’t see myself wanting to go back or recommend it to friends. On a positive note, they do deliver and the food is ok so if you’re in a bind and need delivery, it could be a good alternative to the other few delivery options.

If I could give this place negative stars, I totally would. My fiancé and I went in for dinner and the service was horrible. I understand we are not their target clientele but we are however, paying customers. We arrived with no one else there and we were seated quickly but shortly after we arrived another couple came in and was served before we were. The server approached us to take our order and said«what do you want?» She could not explain a certain menu item but did come back quickly with an answer. She took my order, didn’t even address my fiancé and walked off. We gave her a minute, things happen, we get it. She didn’t come back. I flagged her down and said we also needed drinks and that my fiancé didn’t have the chance to place his order. She looked at him, «what do you want» he said he wanted the hummus platter. Platter not appetizer. They brought him the hummus appetizer and never a platter. She never came back to check on us all the while she was sitting with two other people smoking hookah the whole time. I asked if they mixed up his order, which happens. Never an «im sorry» «let us correct it» nothing. They just acknowledged that it was wrong and continued smoking their hookah. When we were leaving I explained that our service was HORRIBLE. Their excuse. She’s new. New doesn’t fix rude. Unfortunately the food was DELICIOUS. However, with service like that the continued business they could have gotten from us will not exist. So if you want good food but rude staff it’s a great place! But if you expect even basic customer service, we aren’t asking for over the top, then avoid this place at all costs. Extremely disappointed.

I ordered delivery from here. It came relatively fast and yay for delivery. I got the chicken gyro platter and lentil soup. I was expecting the same toppings for the gyro platter that come on the gyro pocket. I did not get these :(There was tabbouleh and hummus. My chicken was atop a bed of yellow rice. Also the chicken is cubed and not shaved. The pita it came with was pretty good. Whaaat is up the lentil soup here!?! It’s INSANELY salty. Isn’t there supposed to be some lemon in it too? Anyways, I couldn’t eat it. All of the food here is crazily over-salted. Overall…just meh.

We orderd delivery from here tonight and it was an interesting experience. Upon calling and ordering there was a lot of confusion about if they were delivering tonight and if they could make our food ect ect. This was all happening between the lady who answered the phone and whoever she was speaking to but she had not put the phone on mute so we heard them talking about how our order is possibly and inconvenience. We lived in Europe for 2 years and anyone that has ever traveled to Europe and had authentic mediteranian food, I suggest you don’t order here. We ordered the Maza sampler and it was a sad looking order. I had the falafel and it was by far the worst falafel I’ve ever tasted. They weren’t big balls like falafel normally is but rather little bite size things. I had asked for tzatziki on the side and it was forgotten. The tabouli was terrible and the portion was about 2 spoonfuls. My husband often makes hummus and tabouli that are both better than what we paid for tonight. My husband got the calzone which was just okay. I can’t believe we spent $ 40 dollars here. We will not be returning. I do have to say, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very kind and helpful.

Very happy with this place! It’s so strange. The ambiance is really weird, it feels like an unfinished basement or a music venue I would have gone to in high school. But the food is really actually good and the downtown location is perfect for a pre-drinks dinner and coffee. I think it’s easy to mess up Mediterranean food and this place has really good quality stuff, not too strong flavors, carefully prepared. Their Turkish coffee is so good too, I’ve come back just for that! It’s spiced so delicately. I love their late hours, I’m in my late 20s but don’t hate the apsu crowd, I recommend the rose shisha! Only thing, wish they had tap water! We had to buy bottled last time we were there.

We ordered to go and we were very pleased with the food. My husband orderd the gyro platter and I the lamb pocket. The lamb meat was very tasty and was nothing like the geek lamb you find at the mall food court. The price is reasonable. Both times we’ve checked this place it was pretty much dead it was around 7 – 8. I saw their hours and they open from 6pm to 2am. So I’m assuming it gets busy late in the night. The décor is very simple. But because of the food alone, I definitely would go back.

Been there twice. The first time my hubby and I had dinner and then smoked hookah. Food was delicious, the grape leaves were good. Hookah is bomb, and I love it even more because it’s cheap. They have an extensive amount of non-alcoholic drinks to choose from including chocolate milk(?) Our first visit was a bit off-putting because when we walked out, the girl came chasing after us accusing us of not paying our tab… I was aggravated. She hardly apologized when our server told her we had. Our second visit we went strictly for the hookah, and it was overly crowded with college students. We waited about 10 mins for a table… and well, the rest is history. Anyways, with the lack of fun places to go to or hang around at around here… this is the spot to go. I don’t mind the bad decoration.

If the coffee shop across the street is mysteriously closed this is a surprisingly ok place to grab something to eat and maybe get work done in the afternoons. At night the Austin Peay crowd gets it a little rowdy for somewhere that serves something chill like hookah. As far as the shisha is concerned, it’s a little light but there are few alternatives in town.

The Baba Ghanoush appetizer is a small serving but full of flavor, and seasoned with just the right amount of kick. The place looks run down, but they play good music and it’s definitely worth coming to on a Saturday night for more than just food. The gyro meat seemed of good quality and had good texture but the pocket pita bread was sloppily smashed and the sauce was a joke. Most of the customers were college kids smoking hookah. The main course would’ve forced me to give 3 stars to the business, but I enjoyed the vibrant college vibe so much in addition to the appetizer that I must give 4 stars.

Tarboosh has good service and good food. The fact that they are open and serve food until close is great. The wait for the actual food, though, can be ridiculous even during slow nights. That alone can be enough to void many of the positive aspects of Tarboosh.

I’m adding a star up because I’ve tried the hookah and the service has greatly improved despite the busy atmosphere on a Friday night. They tobacco flavors are pretty light but with 10 bucks a pipe plus 3 bucks per additional smoker it’s really quite cheap. There was a trio of waitresses that night and despite it being packed both inside and out(there’s no real outdoor seating but about 8 people were out there smoking and they ordered food,) we were checked up on frequently, our coal burnt out and we got another light quickly and despite some obnoxious other customers-spilled sodas like 3 times they never got upset, cleaned up quickly and went on about their business. The kinks I wrote about seem to be have been ironed out and I’m going to say it’s the best place for hookah in Clarksville.

Tarboosh is great! I saw someone’s rave review on Facebook and wanted to check this place out. They serve fantastic food — a rare treat in Clarksville! I’ve tried the falafel platter, the lamb gyro platter, the tabouli salad, baklava, and Turkish coffee and everything has been really excellent. I would highly recommend stopping in here the next time you are hungry in downtown Clarksville. It is right down the street from the Blackhorse Pub amd across from the Roxy Theatre.
