Occoneechee State Park

Dropped by today with our dog to walk the trails. It’s quiet and beautiful and is a great outing for a weekend afternoon!

Had a great time camping and visiting old school friends during the fourth of July festivities ! The park was nice, weather was great and or camp host was super awesome !!! Five stars for him alone, Willy was so nice to us and my Buddies that stayed in the cabins. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fun. Keep up the good work and we will see you soon :-)

There is so much to do at this park for any age. Camping, state of the art cabins, hikes, horse trails and beautiful water views.
You can get gas on the water, rent a slip for your boat for the weekend, week or year.
The visitor center is full of information on things to do in the area. They also have tons of information on native America history and culture.
In the summer they have activities for adults and children. Kids can play games and make arts and crafts projects for no additional costs. This is something open to those staying at the park and locals.
You can buy a year long pass to enjoy the park as much as you want or it just costs $ 4 for a one day parking pass.
While at the park remember that park rangers are just like police and can give you tickets so be mindful and respectful of posted speed signs and other laws that are the same both inside and outside the park.
I encourage everyone to take advantage of our wonderful virginia park system!!! Getting out and exploring nature is fun for all ages!

I take my grandchildren to this park quite often. They like to use the archery range that was recently opened. I can sit in my camping chair while they shoot their bows and take in all that nature has to offer. The park staff are great and the park police keep the park a safe place for children. Some horseback riders came by and let the children pet the horses. Everyone is always very polite; just a really happy place to spend time.
