I mentioned this in talk the other day and decided to write it up. I like to buy local when I can. I also am diabetic, not that you can tell from my reviews. I like food and I like it to taste good. Michaelene’s does. It came recommended as a cereal option from my dietician and I have found it to be a tasty option for me. It is a nice way to fit some healthy fruit and grain into my diet. Quality carbs. I eat it with milk, yogurt(I recommend it with some greek yogurt myself) or as a trail mix type snack on the go. My faves are the Blueberry Bliss Honey Crunch, the Cheery Cherry Honey Crunch and the Heavenly Organic. The Ginger Peach Honey Crunch is also very tasty but I am hit or miss on peaches in general so I have to be in the mood. The Fancy Fruit ones are good too but spendier. This is not for anyone who cannot ingest peanuts. Almost all varieties contain them. You can find Michaelene’s in various health food and other local stores and you can also do mail order @ . I find these granolas to have a nice balance flavor wise, sweet but a more natural type sweetness. Low in carbs and sugar and yet high in fiber. Adding them in as a meal lets me be worse the rest of the day, or a least I pretend it does. Leave me alone, I need food rationalizations to delude myself ok? It sucks to be a foodie-ish diabetic.
