Great salad, fantastic service. Owner is making sure all is good, so big props to Paul. Great job.

I am so confused, now mind you this is my first time at 4th Street and I will give it another chance, but here goes. The selection in downtown Clarksburg is quite limited and haven tried almost everything there is, I opted for a newly re-opened(?) place called 4th St. and you guessed it, right on 4th St. in fact the address is 123 S. Fourth Street so I thought that was pretty neat. I walked inside to a large room with a few tables on either side, a small dance floor(?) and a bar, seeing no one to seat me I walked towards the bar and saw that there is yet another large room on the other side with a doorway opening so I walked in there and this spot had yet another bar. In total there was about a dozen people for lunch @ 12:25. I saw an older gentleman taking an order so I stood near him until he was done and I told him I called in an order and then I went and had a seat, this is where the confusion sets in. There are around 8 – 10 TVs spread out through both rooms and music was playing at first I didn’t pay attention but then 2 PACs«How do you want it?» started playing, now I may not look like I like old school rap, but 2PAC is in the top five of all artists in my book, then I noticed the video was playing for the song let me just say this even the edited version is very adult oriented, I mean after all the song is called How do you want it? Before this Blurred Lines played and though I didn’t look at the video another patron told the guy, who happened to be the owner that it was the explicit version, not really suitable for a lunch time showing. He apologized and said that it was his weekend playlist for the night and he would quickly change it, I think it is just youtube playlist, The owner was running around getting orders and would tell each table that his server walked out(I don’t know when) but you need to get one fast. Two people(Owner/Server and the Cook) can’t run a restaurant well they can, it just won’t be efficient. After apologizing to everyone he offered me a complimentary tea or soda since I had been waiting a while, I told him no thank you, just a water. A few minutes went by and he brings another table their drinks(they were there before me) and then comes back and brings out a key lime pie in a jar complimentary for that table since they had a child, during this he forgot my water. It wasn’t until he brought my to go plate that he realized he didn’t bring me my water and he did apologize again. I felt bad for him and feel especially bad after eating my Steak Hoagie as the other Unilocaler recommended. Why do I feel bad? The hoagie was great, it wasn’t your cheap steak meat most places use, the bread was«upscale» everything had flavor, the cheese, peppers, steak, bread and perfectly cooked with the cheese having that perfect slightly brown top from baking/broiling it. The other table had the super burger and it looked great and they said it was really good as well. I’m not sure what this place is trying to be, it was like being on a boat that is sinking and one guy is bailing the water out and your almost at the destination but you know it is going to sink. Get a couple waitresses, a bartender advertise via social media and watch it grow, of course hire another cook as well, because one isn’t going to cut it. The menu is luckily small(but has the essentials) which is manageable for a small staff. All and all I will be back and adjust my rating then.

Tried this place for lunch. I ordered the meatball platter and a side salad with lemon vinaigrette. The meatballs were delicious. I kind of regretted not ordering the meatball hoagie. I also got a salad with the lemon vinaigrette, which was really interesting. The salad was fresh and crisp. I would recommend it. My coworker got a steak hoagie, which came with a bacon ranch pasta salad and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Another coworker got the BLT, and coleslaw, and she did not enjoy either. The place is clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. The owner came over to tell us about the night club which is open on the weekends. It sounds fun! The restaurant has a small menu with new lunch specials each day. I look forward to returning. I think this place has potential to be five stars.

Visiting the fam in C-burg and settled on 4th Street as: my favorite restaurant in the area, Provence, was booked; my sister wanted seafood; had never eaten there before. The food was good with big portions, but not out of this world and the menu was little too heavy on fried/breaded food or creamy sauces… so maybe just not my type of cuisine. A little surprised when absolutely no one else was in the restaurant on a Saturday evening at 7pm(does the 3rd night of the local Blackberry Festival really draw the whole area away from eating out – we still made it to the fireworks?) The restaurant must have expected a slow night because the waitress soon informed us that the menu for the evening was verbal and it did not seem extensive. I like to be able to read/study the whole menu, but went with it. However a couple came in right after that and since one waitress had to explain the full menu, it slowed down the service a bit perhaps. She read the appetizers to us, and then went to wait on the other customers. I would have preferred she also told us the entrees as well at that time, as that may have influenced what we chose as appetizers. So the three of us(my dad, sis, and me) decided on two appetizers to start. The tomato bowl was my choice… sort of bruchetta on steroids… and I think the only non-fried/heavy creamy choice. It was pretty delicious with plenty of fresh tomatoes, chunks of cheese, and alot of a sort of soft french baguette type of bread(at least that is what the waitress called it.) My dad and sister shared the lobster/crab bisque soup… and they really enjoyed it… eating it both as a soup and using it as a dip with the other basket of bread provided. There really weren’t alot of seafood choices for my sister, and again many creamy sauces/fried/breaded items. For the entrees, my sister sampled the chicken cacciatore, while the chicken francese got the ticket by me and my dad. My sister’s entrée was huge. My chicken came with asparagus and really rich, buttery, mashed potatoes. Those potatoes were really good and the best part of the entrée(but i’m sure that was real butter, and fattening with alot of calories, but hey it’s ok once in a while). Really substantial piece of chicken, but again for me too breaded/too creamy of sauce. I took half my entrée to go as I wanted to try a dessert. Tough call between a bananas foster and a peach pecan bread pudding. Went with the more unique version of bread pudding that came with a bourbon glaze… it was good choice and don’t think I’ve ever had this type of bread pudding. Sounds like from other reviews – on Unilocal and other sites – burger night is should not be missed. We didn’t have any drinks since we were going to go to the 5th floor afterwords, so can’t speak to that.

God knows when I’ll be back in Clarksburg after getting terminated a couple of days after the last time that I ate at 4th Street(no worries, there loss, as I’m making a lot more money now doing more interesting work). I just wanted to say that 4th street, along with the view and drink at Fifth Floor, made my work in the area something to(almost) look forward to, and I hope to have the opportunity to visit and try the new menu. Clarksburg/Bridgeport newbies: Don’t bother with Provence,

I’ve heard great things about this place, so the last time I came home for a visit I decided to check it out. The food was fantastic; I had the tuna salad, and the tuna was perfect. Our service was absolutely terrible. The waiter was not attentive. I could understand this if they were busy, but the place was practically empty. I asked for no cheese on my salad, and it came out with cheese. I brought it to my waiter’s attention, and his response was«It’s just a little bit of parmesan» and didn’t offer to take it back. The menu is all over the place and has no clear direction.

I was finally able to go to 4th Street after meaning to make it there for nearly a year! I am elated that I squeezed it into a short weekend in Bridgeport for a wedding. I walked through the doors with guarded speculation as my parents had reported«good but not groundbreaking» cuisine. The food was great… not groundbreaking for a huge city crowed with culinary options, but I would go so far as to say ambitiously epicurean for somewhere like Harrison County West Virginia. The atmosphere and service were superb. If you go to 4th Street, I entreat you, GETTHETOMATOBOWL! Though I may have been liberal with the 5 stars for my entrée, the tomato bowl, décor, and our waiter made the experience… no pun intended! My final kudos go out to 4th Street in the way of their adult beverages. Though my boyfriend was disappointed to find no draft beer, I had a delightfully fizzy berry sparkling wine which I will surely return to guzzle(in the most ladylike of fashions) in the future.

This is so sad. Come on Clarksburg! I know you have the internet. Put up some Unilocal reviews and support locally owned restaurants in your city. You have few dining options outside of fast food and chain restaurants and one as good as this deserves to stick around. But they need your help. Put out the word! 4th Street is delicious! There lunch, which is unfortunately the only thing I’ve had due to living in Chicago and not Clarksburg, is awesome. Last Christmas when I was in visiting the family I got to go twice. The sandwiches are very good and unique. The onion soup was wonderful. The smoked trout was excellent. Everything was good. I would love to go back for dinner next time I am in, so I hope it is still around. Okay Clarksburg… Get out there and support 4th Street so I may have the chance of eating there again!
