Was in town for a day on business. County Seat was recommended for lunch. Glad we went! The salads are delicious and fresh. Portions are generous. The menu said the salad was served with a breadstick. We were surprised to see a breadstick that looked to be the size of a half dozen rolls! The bread was delicious. Would gladly go back if/when I have the opportunity.

I’ve lived in the area for over 10 years and never was impressed with the seat, my friends were always obsessed with it. That was up until about 4 months ago when I went one morning and got an omlet. Now I can’t stop going! I try to make it a once a week deal, great food nice environment a must stop for breakfast.

Was lucky enough to score two counter seats during a morning of the Autumn Leaf Festival! Crowded and definitely the best place for breakfast in the area. The staff was amazing on the ball and the kitchen was booming. The restaurant is small but they are certainly«taking care of business». Our waitress was super friendly and knew the menu inside and out. I loved the variation of pancakes. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes. oh they were so good. I had a basic breakfast eggs, bacon, hash brown patty and biscuits. Everything was cooked just right. Our food came fast too dispite the resturant being packed and there was a line out the door too! Their coffee is pretty off the hook too. I am always weary about coffee at diners/restaurants. They even have homemade bread!!! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the air. No upset stomache after this meal/trip … it was delightful. Cheers !

Went to the Seat twice for brunch this weekend. While it’s always great, my omelet this morning was amazing – cooked to perfection. Mary and her staff do a tremendous job.

I LOVE this place. I make frequent drives to the East Coast and Clarion is my stopping point. I never fail to visit County Seat going in each direction. My favorite is their omelette which is very unique, thin walls folded over onto itself. The quality of everything we have tried is always delicious. The staff are super friendly and I always feel at home when I walk in the door. Highly recommended!

Very busy on Sunday am, a little slow but worth the wait. Omelettes, excellent potatoes were not homemade. Service was friendly I would eat there again if in the neighborhood.

I’ve eaten here off and on for many years. It’s delicious, but if you go on a Sunday you’ll have an extremely long wait. Food is awesome, prices are great, and I do like the service. Only one drawback– it’s cash only, and this is the 21st century. Other than that, I highly recommend.

Randomly good place to have a brunch. I went there on a Saturday morning, and the restaurant was filled full of people quickly… I had veggie omelette and a ice cream… Omelette taste great, it’s full of cheese… I love cheese!!!

Pretty good place to get breakfast. Really cheap and the food is all fresh made, which is rare it seems like. They’re usually pretty busy around lunchtime when I go, and have really good breakfast potatoes. Love their fresh made bread for toast, really tasty and filling.

This is, hands down, one of the most overrated eateries in Clarion. You will hear people RAVE about the pancakes and desserts if you go to college here. It’s just ok. There is nothing special about the County Seat. Most people just find it nostalgic and can’t tell the difference. It’s cash only, and the hours are pretty terrible. It’s a breakfast and lunch only place, but you had better want to eat lunch early. Lets talk about the one good thing. They’re pretty cheap. But it’s central PA. Everything is pretty cheap. I can say with great conviction that if you are a college student, ¾ times you will have terrible service. I’m guessing people tip quite poorly here so the waitresses will ignore you and cater to the regulars. Since I didn’t grow up in a small town, I understand how to tip and expect service. Additionally, there is no structure to the seating system. Everyone just stands around the front door and runs for the first open table. So someone that came in 15 minutes after you will probably sit down first. Uh, mass chaos much? The food is just average. The M&M pancakes are decent, but I can make the same thing at home and better. Eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. are some of the fastest and easiest foods to cook ever. And County Seat isn’t really doing anything to make them special. Finally, just don’t get dessert here. I have tried three different pies, and they have all been foul and disgusting. My roommate and I were convinced that it had to be that we were picking the wrong things until everyone else not from the area agreed. I’m sure County Seat is trying but just go somewhere else.

The only reason this place is getting a two star rating is because the first visit last year was okay. Today’s visit was horrible. My friend and I arrived around 12:30, toward the end of the lunch rush. We got our coffee and water, and ordered our food. I got a deli sandwich and fries, my friend a chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes. It was 12:34. Our food didn’t arrive until 1:13, after we inquired about about the hold up. Our waitress didn’t bother to check on us; in fact she made eye contact and turned around and walked away. We were very displeased, in all.

Whenever we are visiting my wife’s family, we always try to eat breakfast at County Seat. This is a true piece of genuine America. Great comfort food… very, reasonably priced.

Adorable little diner. I’ve only ever gotten breakfast foods, but it was delicious. The M&M pancakes are wonderful, and their home fries are great. My sister had their biscuits and gravy, which she enjoyed. They also make a PERFECT over easy egg. Coffee mugs were refilled quickly, and service was fast. The prices are as cheap as you can get. I ate there with a friend the other day and it cost a total of about $ 12 for the two of us. The décor is old fashioned, grandma sort of stuff, but it fits. The crowd is a mix of college kids and older towns people. Seat yourself, and cash only. There’s a PNC right next door though. The only downside is that I think they close kind of early… 3:00pm maybe?
