Lunch pit stop on our way from Cleveland to n.y. One word– delicious!!! We got the Italian, the bob’s turkey & ham, the steak & the cooked salami. The mayo was perfect! We devoured our sandwiches in record time they were that good! A few tables inside to eat quick.

Awesome little sandwich shop. Stopped by on my drive to Erie. I can see why people have rated this place high! Bread is tasty and toasted just perfectly. Veggies are fresh and hand chopped, and service is also great!

Best place to get subs at in that state! All fresh and the onions are nice and strong(the way I like them). I see everyone is talking about the mayo. Me personally I think mayo is the most disgusting thing ever so I just always get it with the Italian and am happy with that. Highly recommend

I have been going to Bob’s for nearly 40 years. Whenever I am close to the area I make sure to stop by. Still the best sub by far around!

If you’re driving across PA and want a little taste of local yum, drive 5 minutes past all the chains to this treat in downtown Clarion. Fresh toasty bread, crunchy veggies, a wide selection of deli meat, and a hearty smear of mayo make it a perfect lunch stop.

Love Bob’s Sub! I always get the Super(Italian). The combination of the toasted bun and best ever mayo is what makes these subs so tasty!

Great subs!!! Got to love a local independent sub shop that still makes subs with quality ingredients. We walked in Sat afternoon after CU Graduation and they were packed; The sign of a great place! Will be sure to visit them again next time we’re in Clarion.

Visiting relatives in Clarion. We ordered subs to go. Probably one of the best subs I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the junior sub. It was plenty big!!! Prices are great! Will definitely come back!

Randomly good. Price are reasonable! I had roast beef sandwich, which is my favorite… Ladies are friendly… It’s on Main Street so that it’s easy to get to. I miss that place.

It’s a great place to grab a sandwich… now it’s not a healthy $ 5 footlong, but really is that what you are looking for is it? You wanted a REAL sandwich, that’s why you came to Bob’s Subs. It’s fantastic, they toast a Cellone’s Bun and top it with your meat, veggies, and dressing. I just got to revisit the place last week and it was just as good as I remember from college. The prices are just as good as Subway(Better on some comparable sandwiches) It’s not healthy, it’s not fancy, it’s a sandwich shop, you go here for low cost convenient comfort food.

I was in Clarion for a meeting and went to Bob’s for lunch with some friends. Everything about the experience was good(customer service, cleanliness, speed) but the food was great! I’ve been to another, newer, location and it was very similar: simple design /layout /decoration, focusing on great food! These are located in college towns, near the campus, and provide great value! I like supporting local businesses and this is a no-brainer!

I was driving through Pennsylvania on Interstate 80 and Clarion seemed an apt place to stop for lunch. I was looking around for somewhere to try and found fairly positive reviews for Bob’s on Unilocal,so that’s where I ended up. It doesn’t look like much when you’re walking in – it’s very quaint and just has a few tables in a seating area beyond the counter where you order. While the employees I encountered weren’t friendly, they were efficient and accommodating. There were a fair number of people there eating, so I took that as a good sign as well. When it comes down to it, I don’t know if I was just really hungry or the sandwich was just that good, but I thought it was amazing and I would stop here again for lunch if I had the chance. They have a set list of toppings and you basically just choose the meat. I had the turkey sub and let them make it their way, but I asked for no onions(they got it right). They were generous with all of the ingredients and the roll was amazingly fresh. My mouth is watering just writing about this sandwich. Anyway, there doesn’t seem to be a whole host of options for a quick meal in Clarion, so give Bob’s a try. I’m glad I did!

Bob’s Sub is the kind of place you should expect to find in central Pennsylvania. You will probably walk out of here ten pounds heavier, and your cholesterol levels will be unsafe. Honestly, Bob’s sub deserves only two stars, but the food is always fresh which is nice. The cliental is mostly college students and locals, and the prices are better than Subway down the road. Each sub comes with a smattering of vegetables, Italian dressing, and mayo. I’ve enjoyed most of the subs. There are three different sizes to chose from as well. The bread is probably the best part. It’s always fresh and delicious. The subs are mostly good, but when you get your sub all wrapped up in the paper, you’ll notice that the mayo and dressing are coming through the paper. There is so much mayo on these subs. If you watch what you eat, try to eat healthy, etc., just ask for a little mayo. I can only eat one of the junior sized subs with full mayo. If you aren’t into eating excessive fat, you will fill sick after eating one.

This place has great sandwiches. Especially for Clarion, which has a horrible food selection. It’s pretty hard to mess up a sandwich. Typical meats and cheese, plenty of lettuce and tomato, and the bread is delicious! Plenty of flavor, due to the mayo and italian dressing they add. Ask for that on the side if you don’t want a lot. Prices aren’t bad. You probably want to take it to go though. The«dining area» is not the classiest of places, but it looks clean and it does the job if you have nowhere else to eat.

I think if I was a meat eater, I would have given the place 4 stars simply for making a good sandwich in Clarion PA, where the other options are scanty. They do have vegetarian options — 3 kinds of cheese, American, Provolone, and maybe Swiss, and you can get a cheese combo with all 3, so that’s what I did. Then I realized that essentially the sandwich was a slab of cheese on top of a slab of mayo. The way they heap on the mayo at this place is no joke, it’s like they’re saying, «Clarion PA, proud to be the home of many a hardened artery!»(there is some slightly frightening people-watching around this area). The subs come in mini, junior, and large sizes, and the junior is plenty big, I’ll tell you. After eating it, I didn’t feel well for a while. I think I was going into cholesterol shock. No actual gastroenteritis though. And I was happy to support a local place instead of hitting one of the fast food chains.

Yes, the mayo makes the sandwich here. Deliciously toasted subs slathered in egg yolk cream. This is a local gem but is a quick jaunt off the expressway for those traveling through on I80. Atmosphere is what you’d expect for a hometown sub shop in an economically challenged part of the country. Germophobes and bib donners should not bother. But for those who like the local flair, this is a great place for an inexpensive, filling and tasty lunch.

I’ve had hoagies, subs, grinders, and foot longs from across the fruited planes, but I have yet to experience anything like Bob’s Subs in Clarion. The subs are meaty and delicious, the buns are toasted, toppings are always fresh, and what can I say about the mayo? I think I saw the mayo coming out of a 10 gallon drum, with«industrial» in bold letters and«made in Chernobyl.» Where do they get this stuff? It’s the thickest, best tasting mayo I’v ever had, and they slather it on. My heart skips a beat just looking at it as it oozes out of the other end when I take a bite. I have some cracks in my concrete driveway that I’m thinking of filling with Bob’s Subs mayo, or using as mortar for my next tile job. I want my obitiuary to read«Nick died at an old age, surrounded by friends and family. Cause of death– Bob’s Sub.» Adding to the ambiance of Bob’s Sub is the dingy dining room. Seriously, could you have more of a contrast from delicious sandwich to haphazard décor? This is how youy know the place is good– the food has to be good in a place this divey.

I grew up eating Bob’s Subs in the 80’s and early 90’s. There’s something about the way they toast their buns or slather on the mayo that I can’t quite identify, but it stands out in my memory as some of the best subs I’ve ever had! Nom nom nom! Next time I am in Clarion visiting my dad I’ll have to make it a point to stop by.
