This is our newest go-to spot! We wandered in here for lunch after passing it by several times before, and am so glad we gave it a shot despite it never really looking busy. We seated ourselves and were greeted by a nice waitress and warm crusty bread, winning me over already. I opted for breakfast Chilaquiles — because let’s face it — how many Clarendon spots serve them? My mom got a turkey club and soup and our niece grabbed chicken fingers which looked fresher than the usual ones we find on the kid’s menu. Our meal was so delicious we came back for breakfast the next day, and ordered pizza from there that night — hello weekend of no cooking! Every single thing we have eaten has been tasty, it seems like they have mastered Pizza, Mexican and American favorites — trifecta!

First time ordering from her & the last time. I can’t even believe they actually sent out the food the way it was. The Nacho supreme, Which was really Chips w/mozzarella cheese microwaved on top, With a few diced tomatoes. It was Microwaved in the foam container! Container was melted out of shape with holes on the bottom and chips were melted to the bottom of container! Order went straight to the trash. Also ordered 2 cheeseburger kids meals. They were horrible, my kids couldn’t eat them cause the edges of the patties were hard and so were the buns. I don’t understand how they were okay with sending food out like that. Never again.

I tried this place for the first time tonight and I thought it was freakin good! Steak nachos were super yummy. Great flavor, good size portion. I also ordered a Cheeseburger which was also very good! Very juicy and delicious cooked Medium and served with yummy crispy fries and apparently it comes with soup!(Bonus) I was very pleased with the quick delivery service and the over all quality of the food/product. Not sure what the place looks like but they have Italian, Mexican, American and it seems they serve breakfast as well. Interesting… I’ll be ordering again very soon. I’ve ordered from multiple places off Grubhub lately but this is(so far) the only place I would order from again. We’ve been on a hunt for a good spot in the neighborhood. We’ve had very little luck until tonight. Hills Café 4 stars for you!!!

Good no frills restaurant in downtown Clarendon Hills. We had Italian food that was well-prepared and fairly priced, but there is also a Mexican food on the menu. Staff was very friendly, even when I spilled a glass of red wine everywhere.

The food mario’s or Hills restaurant is delish. Very clean neighborhood restaurant. Menu, has quite a variety of Italian, Mexican and American dishes. Friendly people service is good, maybe a bit slow but the food is worth the wait. I hope they do well. They are a credit to the neighborhood. Downtown Clarendon Hills.

We’ve started getting Mario’s delivered and they are so pleasant. The food has been consistently good and my father said his Chicken Breast Vesuvio was absolutely terrific. I think their pizza is the best of the choices around our burb and we’ve tried a few. Last night we had a bizarre situation where my dad accidentally locked himself in a room and couldn’t get to the door to get our food delivery. My mom had some money with her but not enough. Mario’s delivery man was so kind to leave the food and my dad called to pay when he unlocked the door! I really appreciated that they were not mean to my parents, but rather accommodating, when this goofy situation came up. From the reviews, it seems like this is a family business and like most of the restaurants in CH, service might be uneven(ours has always been good), but the food we’ve had has always been good.

Omelettes and skillets are huge! I’ve tried the veggie version of both and they’re super fresh and hot!

Been there twice for burgers to go. Service is good, tho a little slow. They gave me a glass of water while I waited the second time. Cheese burgers are always a little overdone, and not that amazing. But their fries are fantastic, their homemade cole slaw is killer, and they threw in some homemade chicken noodle soup as well, and IT is great. Pricey, but so far been pretty pleased. Very nice people.

This restaurant has been so many different things since we have lived in the area and it seems like they miss the mark every time it becomes something else. Trying to be a breakfast and pizza place at the same time. Stick to one thing and do it better than anyone else. Food is just ok and it needs to have more staff to assist customers. Always seem to see one or two employees there at a time.

Don’t order the Cod special. I thought after waiting 25 minutes they were cooking it right. Nope, hardly any batter and dried out. Also, they need to hire another waitress/waiter. Wife and I walked in and there was one other person seated. Drinks and food took forever. With only 3 customers in the place. Wife said the burger was very good. That’s not enough for me to come back.

Worst. Service. Ever. We stopped here because of a train delay. We sat ourselves, and after about 10+ minutes we finally got our order taken. No hi or hello. Just«are you ready?» We ordered our food and got a coffee and hot chocolate. We understood it was busier at once because of the people coming in at once. But not once did we see a server even attempt to hurry up. She would disappear for chunks of time. I don’t know if it was a bus boy or front desk guy but he was the only one running food and drinks. We waited at least 5 more minutes for our drinks. They brought out 2 coffees. We asked for the hot chocolate and after over 10 minutes we finally had to physically get up and go ask for it ourselves. It took over 25 minutes before I got up and had to find the waitress and tell her we had to go. And we couldn’t wait. She’s lucky I was nice enough to even offer to pay for our drinks and didn’t just get up and leave. Horrible service. Horrible waitress. The only person there who looked like he worked was a frantic looking guy in a hat who seemed to be making up for the lack of urgency of this lazy woman. Can’t believe anyone would give this more than one star. They must have better employees that weren’t working this afternoon

We ate at Mario’s again last Thursday. We are never disappointed. The food is excellent, the pricing for their dishes reasonable and the service is great. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Lemon Chicken. We both had wine, I a Chianti and my wife a white. Inexpensive, house wines but generous«pours» and very adequate. We have been there for breakfast and on occasion lunch. Always good food, not a fancy atmosphere but if its good food, a glass of wine, good service and consistent give Mario’s support as local restaurant the needs support to hopefully continue for many years

Order from Mario’s regularly and have never been disappointed. My order arrives hot and usually before the anticipated time. Also, the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Looking forward to ordering from them for a long time to come

I love the food here. I’ve tried many things on the menu and have never been let down. Prices here are reasonable. Breakfast is great too. It is great casual dining place which is worth trying out, and I’m sure you will be back for more.

Good food. Family style restaurant. We had cream of broccoli soup. served steaming hot. Appetizer of Strawberry crepes made sweet and. Full of flavor. Tuna salad was creamy served with double crispy fries. Chicken in the chicken Ceaser salad was tender. Service was tentative and nice.

We’ve eaten at Mario’s several times and enoyed it — the food is good, the service is friendly and attentive, and it’s extremely kid friendly! We order delivery from them at least once a week and love the pizzas — the sauce is sweet, and the crust doughy(a preference in our house!). Glad to have a place in CH that’s reasonable and family friendly — we’ll definitely do our part to keep them around!!!

Well, it ain’t fine dining, but it is nice dining, casual dining, a pizza place mainly with some Italian dishes and a few non-Italian dishes to fill out the menu — the dinner menu. Breakfasts and lunches are also served here, but then we came for dinner. Maybe, because of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, or people worn out from shopping during the extended Black Friday, there were only 2 families in the restaurant when we arrived at about 5:00PM on a Saturday. They were enjoying themselves and I heard no complaints about anything. A couple of finer-dining restaurants nearby were much busier and maybe people were looking for something fancier. The restaurant was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. If the restaurant was full, the noise level could become loud, but that would actually seem appropriate. The service was very good and very friendly. The pizza we ordered had a nice, crisp crust, a respectable amount of toppings and a sauce that seemed a bit sweet. It wasn’t the best pizza or even great, but wasn’t bad either. The one thing that stood out is that the cheese/toppings seemed wet and slippery … not greasy, but the toppings wanted to slide off the crust. The price was good. The beer and wine selection, very limited. Will we come back for pizza or order a pizza to be delivered? Probably not. Will we come back for breakfast or lunch or to try out one of the other items on the dinner menu? Possibly.

As much as it pains me to give any business in Clarendon Hills a poor review, when even your kids don’t like the pizza it deserves mention. We ordered delivery on Halloween. We ordered one 14 inch pepperoni, one 12 inch cheese and a small sausage/mushroom. My kids and their friends demolish every pizza including Dominos. These pizzas were tasteless and very thick crusted and there was allot left and much mumbling among the kiddos. These pizzas were also quite frankly the most expensive pizza’s I ever ordered — $ 47 plus tip. They were however delivered in a reasonable amount of time on a busy night. We will give this place another try at the restaurant and order something else. The town has long needed a family friendly restaurant — I hope they get it right.

OK this is the third time I’ve visited. The first time was a mess; it was opening weekend for breakfast. 45 minutes to get food with three toddlers is not fun. Neither is not having tea spoons for coffee. Incorrect food delivered. They were having computer problems too. A bad outing though the owner comp’d our meal. The second time wa breakfast — uneventful if unmemorable. Just went again for an early dinner. Service was quick, the food was quite tasty and for a very reasonable price. Had an italian beef, kids had mac n’ cheese(homemade, and very tasty). Chicken strips were very good, and the pizza was pretty stellar. We took a lot of food home with us. I think they’re shaking off the rough start. I hope they pick up more business and are around for a while. A great place to have in the hills: tasty food and reasonably priced

Great addition to the burgeoning restaurant scene in clarendon hills. The area has needed a restaurant of this sort for a while — great food, kid friendly, and affordable. Perfect for a quick bite on the weekend or week nights.
