Clarendon Arms is a nice community with great value. Pros: –Pool –1050sqft 2BR2BTH under $ 1k w/Utilities –Nice staff, goes above and beyond –Large Parking Lot –Huge storage –Grilling allowed with your personal grill in courtyard Cons: –Route 83 traffic noise –No window treatments –Not a smoke free community I think it’s disgusting that I can’t open my windows without smelling cigarette smoke. The complex does not enforce the 15 feet law. This is unfortunate, since now I have to run my a/c in sixty degree weather. Also, either the previous renters were smokers and the smell lingered in our apartment, or the smoke from the tenants below us is traveling through the vents in the bathrooms. Also, every time I enter the building, I am welcomed with a blast of the cigarette smell. Very unpleasant. This is the first apartment I have come across that does not include basic window treatments. The windows are bare so you can bare all! I had no idea the apartment would not have window treatments, since the model they show does have blinds. I would like to point out that you get what you paid for… well, more like you don’t get what you don’t pay for. Rent is cheap for this area, but you sacrifice the following: –No balcony –No microwave –No dishwasher –No garbage disposal –No community pest removal –One window a/c unit in kitchen that doesn’t ventilate well to bedrooms –Two laundry machines in basement to share among twelve units I don’t consider these cons. If I needed these things listed above, I would have stayed at my other complex for $ 350 more a month. Just pointing out they are missed though.
