I got several results when I searched for Sweet Melody’s on Unilocal,so I decided to post my review where it seemed most other Unilocalers had chosen to leave their mark. Before reading on, let me tell you that my experiences have both been at the Sweet Melody’s truck rather than actual locations. With that in mind, here’s what I’ve got: You claim to have hand-crafted artisan gelato and sorbet, you’re going to catch the attention of anyone with a sweet tooth, and I’m guilty as charged. Lure me in with your menu, earn my loyalty by meeting my expectations both with quality and customer service. Done. I’ve had a cannoli(delicious, perfect level of sweetness, filled at time of order so no soggy cannoli shell!), a gelato, a sorbet, and a hot caramel apple cider. Everything was great. The apple pie gelato was so perfect that I couldn’t be bothered carrying on a conversation with anyone around me while I had it. It deserved my undivided attention. I think so far the biggest impression that has been made on me is by what I believe to be the owner and his family. These are the exact types of friendly faces you want to deal with when you’re being introduced to a locally owned establishment. People who take pride in sharing what they’re making, and who make you want to come back and support their business because it’s a warm, welcoming environment… A warm, welcoming environment with truly and consistently delicious homemade desserts. This review could be four or five stars for me, it’s the exceptional service that made me feel I couldn’t leave less than the best. And my treats from the Sweet Melody’s on wheels will surely be followed by visits to brick and mortar locations. The next time you want coldstone(and don’t get me wrong, I love coldstone), find Sweet Melody’s instead. Wave to me. I’ll be nearby with some hazelnut sorbet and a smile.

Here’s my complaint… The US does not regulate the term gelato the way they do ice cream, so you can call anything gelato. This place is serving regular old ice cream out of an Italian freezer, calling it gelato and charging more for it. SCAM(which happens to be completely legal). The product is good but it’s not gelato. BUYERBEWARE! Gelateria Lucca on Elmwood is the real deal. So are many other local establishments more worthy of your $.

Place is great! Location is actually on main st near Harlem in Snyder, but the peanut butter was pretty much the most amazing thing I have ever eaten! So much different(better) than normal ice cream. New location is definitely more accessible and still a cute place with tables to sit at

I had a terrible experience at Sweet Melody’s today. The service was horrendous. My mom and I went there for lunch. I ordered a panini and she ordered a cup of soup and caesar salad. Our waitress brought us our drinks immediately, but then deserted us for the next half hour. We finally asked for our food after waiting for 30 minutes and she gave us an attitude. Other people were asking for their food as well. When she brought us our food, she forgot to bring us napkins and silverware. I got napkins myself. The wait was definitely not worth it. My panini was okay, but my mom’s salad was terrible. For a caesar salad, it did not have caesar dressing, tiny croutons, and powdered cheese. It looked like something that came out of a hospital cafeteria. We were very disappointed with our entire experience. It’s a shame. We thought it looked like a very cute place.

the BEST sorbet(watermelon is sooooo refreshing!) and gelato — rich multi-layered and very flavorful! and a minor issue was resolved without problem and with a smile – what more could you ask for!!! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

I had my wedding shower here in their side room. It was a tight fit with 50 people but I loved the place and wanted to have it here to go along with my Italian themed wedding. They served everyone a panini and soup. For dessert, everyone got to order their favorite gelato flavor. Their waiters are all talented musicians and played the piano while singing. I provided them with some music for a game(name that tune) and they performed it. Everything was great!!!

Love Sweet Melody’s! Their gelato is delicious. On my most recent visit, I had the pignoli(pine nut) and chocolate crunchy peanut butter. The pignoli was very mild and delicate with an amazing pine nut after taste, but the chocolate crunchy peanut butter was the real stand out for me. It was creamy, and super chocolatey and peanut buttery at the same time. I would eat that every day if I could! My gelato-eating companions chose pistachio(yum!), and chocolate and coconut together. The chocolate and coconut combo tasted like a Mounds bar. DELISH! I’m so glad that gelato(and sushi, but that’s another story) have become readily available in Western New York. I remember when you couldn’t find either unless it was in a grocery store, and it was usually over-priced and freezer-burned. My only complaint about SM is that the display case doesn’t always make the gelato look appealing. Their pistachio was almost on empty and it just looked dry and crusty in it’s little metal container. To my satisfaction however, it was creamy and tasty, so I guess you can’t always judge an iced treat by it’s appearance.

Homemade gelato! Homemade anything really gets me excited on the inside. Having transformed a rather dissolute area of Millersport and Transit Roads, Melody’s is a gem that isn’t so hidden as you don’t realizing it was there. Sweet Melody’s is more diverse than just a gelato shoppe. They also have panni’s, more homemade desserts and offers open mic nights and classic car nights. I didn’t go for food, I solely want for the sweet tooth craving of the younger sisters. We were delighted to a mostly empty dining room, and two large display cases of their gelato and another case of their other sweet offerings. We were about to sample a flavor or two before deciding. My sample of blueberry yogurt was absolutely stunning and I got a small. The price of a small was $ 3.50 which I thought was pretty reasonable for the homemade product with great ingredients that we were getting. What I loved is the several areas to go to eat the gelatto that SW has. Two dining rooms with the second being more of the concert area was inside and outside there was the«backyard» that had picnic tables. In front of SM there also is a brick patio with several more tables. At Sweet Melody’s Gelato is their large focus where other cafes in the Buffalo area its just another dessert offering. Which is why if you want Gelato in the Buffalo area, you need to make the trec out to the Amherst/Clarence/Lockport border and be thrilled. We all throughly enjoyed our gelati and will definitely be coming back for more!

This place is like in the middle of nowhere on Transit Rd, but it’s definitely a cute little place with glass displays of their gelato, sorbets and desserts. Yummm. Their strong point is definitely their desserts because we had two of their paninis and they weren’t anything special. In fact, they were greasy and all the flavors blended together weird enough to make you question what you were actually eating. We ordered the 5 scoop gelato sampler and a frozen chocolate banana. Instead, the owner wanted to try something new… a 12 scoop gelato sampler!!! I almost died when I saw all of it — I ate about 9.5 scoops out of the 12. The gelatos had good texture and great flavor. Their sorbets were awesome too! At first, I was disappointed that they didn’t have the flavors I wanted to try when i looked at their online menu, but trying 12 flavors just wiped away all those feelings. If you go, you definitely have to try blackberry, tequila sunrise, chocolate popcorn and monte rosa. They were soooo good. And for something different, you should try spicy chocolate. The only thing that was kind of confusing is the service — was it waiter service or not? That didn’t really bother us though. The owner seems to really enjoy what he does and talks to his patrons. Mmm… I left happy with my frozen chocolate banana in a baggie because I was so full. :D
