This is our first visit to this restaurant and will probably be our last. We were greeted promptly at the door to be seated and had a seat by the window. We were served the chips and salsa right away. The chips and salsa were tasty… we love when the chips are warm and these were. The salsa was very fresh tasting. We both agreed that what we ordered we wouldn’t order again. The beans and rice were bland. I had 3 enchiladas each different with a different sauce. I only liked the beef with green sauce. The food was served hot. It got busy and it took a while to get our check. It wasn’t the worst we’ve ever had but we will be trying another place when we get the Mexican craving again.

Good service with a friendly staff. Salsa and queso both good, although a little less cilantro in the salsa would make it better lMO. Decent sized portions and all entrees I’ve had(3 or 4 visits) have been tasty. Not as good as El Chico but solid mex food, although it’s pretty hard to screw up Mexican and most of it seems to taste about the same. Not much difference between their food and the other mex joints in town.

This was our first, but definitely not our last, visit. The restaurant is tucked inside a shopping mall just off Hwy. 66 as you drive into Claremore from Tulsa. First impressions: there’s a lot of Windows do the natural light flows in. The tables and booths are clean and there wasn’t any trash on the floors. We were seated away from other customers in a second area they have. *I prefer when we go out to eat and they don’t shove all the customers into one area. Of course you get the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was not hot and had a wonderful fresh flavor. We ordered the cheese dip, it was also not hot but was creamy and delicious. I ordered a house margarita, medium, on the rocks. It was an appropriate size and was not watered down, also not too strong with tequila. My husband ordered off of their make your own combo: tamales and enchiladas with rice(you can get rice and beans, but my husband’s not allowed beans~ you know why!). I ordered the taquitos: 2 beef and 2 chicken with rice(you can choose rice or beans). We didn’t have to wait too long for our food. It looked wonderful. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly. My husband was impressed especially with the enchiladas, most other places make them so spicy he can’t enjoy them. They were covered in a red sauce that had a sweetness to them. He felt like that helped balance the flavors. The taquitos were stuffed with shredded chicken and beef. I mean completely stuffed! They had lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole on top. We’ve been to all the local Mexican restaurants, this one has to be the best by far! Their staff was polite, service was fast, and it was the cleanest one we’ve been to. If you’re traveling through, or you live close by and are looking for a place to eat, please stop by here. I’m notorious for having a sensitive stomach and have to be careful where /what I eat, it’s been almost 2 hours now and I’m still full and feeling fine!

The food was good, I like the small side part on the menu good idea to order an extra of whatever else you feel like eating. Overall it was good and service was also good.

Pollo Adobe was delicious! Salsa was great! Hubby didn’t care for steak burrito though, but it was huge. All in all a pleasant surprise for a strip mall restaurant. We’ll be back if in the area.

Soggy chile rellenos drowned in cheese. Chemical-tasting fried apple burrito. Bland salsa. Nice staff, but won’t be returning!

El Maguey’s is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The chips and salsa are good and come with your meal. I love the chicken taco salad and the stuffed avocado(tilapia and avocado). My wife loves to order the shrimp tacos or fajitas. So far everything we have tried has been very good. The kids just wish the shrimp tacos were on their menu too! I recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Mexican food in the area.

I ate here today for lunch. I had the fish tacos. They were pretty good, it’s kind of ridiculous how they charged me a dollar for a lime. The lime made it a four star. :)

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Claremore! Chantal, Francisco & Amber are so nice! They know people by name and give great service. The food is excellent. The salsa is great because they use cilantro. Not all Mexican places do and I LOVE cilantro. You gotta try this place. You’ll be hooked like me!

What a great place! We came inconveniently for them, 30 minutes before closing time, yet they seemed just as friendly as ever! They sat us down right as we walked in & were already handing us chips and salsa while we were settling in. It was very quick service and to my own dismay, I spilled my drink and they were quick to help me clean it. The restaurant itself is could use some updating but the staff and food make up for it. I hope to come back soon!

My sis and I came here for lunch on a Saturday – we have been to all the other Mexican places in town and were not impressed with the other places. But El Maguey was actually pretty tasty! The chips were warm and flaky(taste homemade) and the salsa was spicy. The guacomole is great(most Mexican restaurants don’t make it right!) I ordered the lunch speedy gonzalez(taco, enchilada and rice) and my sis got the lunch fajitas. Both were around $ 5, and both were wonderful. They bring out super huge cups and the servers were ready to refill them if you needed a refill. Great staff, great food – if you are looking for a good Mexican place and don’t want to drive to Tulsa, this is your place!

This is by far the best mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The servers are very attentive even when they are busy. My family and I are regulars. We no longer get menus and they just ask if we want the regular. I would suggest getting the queso and a chicken burrito bowl(which isn’t really a bowl but on a plate with 3 tortillas served on the side)

have gotten take-out from here once. we ordered a combo fajita platter and the meat was DELICIOUS, as well as the chips and salsa. the only downside is that they only gave us TWO tortillas for an entire fajita platter! so we had to drive back up there and get more :(next time we will order extras.

this is a great restaurant with terrific service! The food is pretty authentic and everything tastes great, but the Cancun salad easily won as the best dish at a table for 9 last night. We will definitely go back!

El Maguey !!! I love this place. A real home cooked Mexican meal for well under $ 10 a person for dinner. Service and food is constantly great! My wife and I go their often(more than 3 times a month) and have been regulars for almost a year. Recipes are traditional Tex Mex fare. I would rate their fajitas one of the best(go with the chicken, beef, shrimp and spicy sausage) I’ve had recently. If you like Guacamole theirs is always good with a lot of Cilantro and Garlic. I recommend you try this if you like good authentic Mexican food.
