Great place to find used books. They also sell new books, an area of the store that I didn’t venture or spend anytime in, so this review will stick to the used book aspect… They have an impressive literature section as well as mystery. It may not look like it from outside but it’s quite large, it has two floors with several rooms abutting the ends. One could no doubt find a good book inside the store. Also, the owner was personable, friendly and had very good prices. Generally it seemed to be around $ 6.00 for most hardcovers in literature and about the same(maybe slightly higher) for nonfiction. Bring in some books to swap… it’s much as the store name says… a book exchange. Worth stopping to stock up on books if you are ever in the Claremont area of New Hampshire or in the upper valley.

Violet’s is the best place to buy books. They have an abundant selection and have very reasonable prices. If you turn in your books you get store credit which you can use for half the price of used books or ¼ of the price for new books. If you have books that you love but have not touched in a while, bring them down for some credit and pick up some new favourites! Also they have great deals all the time like BOGO free, etc.

Such a great book store! The store is in the shops of The Moody Building between TLC’s and Pharos Deli. The only place I go to buy my books from. Love the small town feel. The helpers are amazingly efficient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Violets Book Exchange.
