The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont

We love this hotel! Clean, spacious, great service, delicious brunch and a little balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Excellent entertainment at Piano! Piano! Rught next door, and a short distance to the charming Claremont Village. Like a little nature? Try Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens within walking distance –full of California Native Plants.

Getting more towels took about 30 minutes and multiple phone calls.
The rooms were okay. I liked that they had extra earphones in the gym!
The courtyard was beautiful.

The staff are great. Everything was very clean and I had a wonderful stay. I even forgot my favorite shirt in my room and James got it to me in 5 minutes. Andrew also was helpful. Exceptional.

I just returned from two nights at the Double Tree in Claremont. I was pleasantly surprised at every turn. The staff was prompt and professional. The Orchard restaurant is great, with a very pleasant patio featuring fine food, cocktails, great lighting and that big rock wall water fountain. We had a blast next door at the Piano Piano lounge. Our local friends say they come to the restaurant and hot tub for their date night. That’s a pretty good idea because this hotel is gem in the neighborhood; I’d most def stay there again. Happy cookies!

The only great thing about this room were the linens. The walls are paper thin, heard people next store having a obnoxious sex 2:30 in the afternoon, sobbing horrificly by 8:30PM AND THEN back to violent sex at 11:30pm. We thought stay in a decent room for some peace and quiet, should have stayed at the motel 6. Never had to call and complain more than one time. We’re far from Vegas people. Then hear the couple getting escorted out by security. Surreal experience. Did I mention we were attending funeral services in town. So disappointed. A discount on the room to make up for no sleep isn’t sufficient.

I LOVE this hotel. I travel weekly across the nation and this is always one of my favorite hotels. The service is always top notch. When I arrive for check in I’m greeted with a friendly smile and a ton of great information. This was my 4^th time staying here in the last 6 months and I will always return.
The rooms are gorgeous, parking is easy, service is incredible, food is awesome, and I love the pool!

The hidden gem here is the restaurant. I have eaten here many times because we live in the area. The bar is warm and inviting. The bartenders are masterpiece makers… give them any order and it comes out perfect. The chef is a culinary visionary. The food is beautiful. …then you taste it… delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. Our favorite.

I booked a room here the day before my wedding so that my bridesmaids and I had somewhere to get ready for the day of the wedding. I also reserved a block of rooms here for my family and friends the night of the wedding. Room condition was nice, but I has highly disappointed when I found out the room I had booked was way smaller than the rooms my other guests (same standard room. for some reason there’s was much bigger), with them knowing the plan for the room to be used as somewhere for us to dressed.

Great food at a meeting i went to tonight also service was outstanding will come back to plan my next employee meeting !

Always great, zero complaints only praise! Love the staff, very hospitable and accommodating, very large, comfortable rooms, nicely appointed, sweet balconies, very peaceful, once again I will enjoy my stay.

I might have had too high of expectations, the area this hotel located is one of the nicer neighborhoods in the I.E. Oh yeah, forgot where I was :)
Opted for the nicer room and was disappointed as I burned points for a dates room facing the parking lot. I was trying to hunker down to work and a family who fed their kids in the hallway for hours and a pesky cricket made
the stay pretty tough. Thank You headphones, I got a lot of work done but felt the experience wasn’t great. All night that little bug kept making noise and when I brought it up at the front desk I didn’t get the sympathy or customer service I was hoping for.
There is a lesson in everything right?

Very unsatisfied with my stay at this hotel and their staff!
I was a guest here on the night of September 19, 2015 and when my friends and I returned to our room around midnight from Piano Piano, the dueling piano bar they promote on their website, when we were very surprised to learn that not even 20 minutes into out return we had received a noise complaint. This came as a surprise as we were not playing any music, or even listening to the TV loudly; We were only talking in our room while getting ready to turn in for the night. Once we were warned, we began to quiet our voices and continued to chat about the great night we had just had when no less than 5 minutes later the security guard was back with a second complaint, although this time he handed us a letter threatening us to be asked to leave without a refund. When we asked him if this could have possibly be a mistake he said «I don’t know if this is the same complaint, but it wont be me the next time, it will be the cops.» That automatically concerned us.
When I contacted the front desk to get more clarification David was very quick to temper and his responses to my questions seemed very accusatory. When I asked as to if there was a Supervisor to speak with on the matter he advised me that he was the only employee on staff (which is unbelievable that there is not more coverage throughput the night shift on a weekend). He then said he had other people to talk to and I let him know I would wait on hold so he could help the other individuals because I was truly concerned by the issue at hand. When he returned I mentioned that the letter we received threatened a check out without a refund so I asked that if we were to leave at the current time, which was 12:40am, would we receive a refund and he responded no. I then asked if there was another room we could move to as to not «disturb» whom ever submitted out concern and David told me there was nothing he could do.
I understand that there is a level of respect and service that needs to be provided to guests at any establishment, but to me it seems like we were not given a fair chance to enjoy our stay at this hotel. The letter we received referenced a «no party policy» and that to me is understandable, but we were not having a party, creating a ruckus or being over extreme disturbance, so receiving that specific notice had no relevance to our certain situation. When I let David know the actuality of our situation he told me that here at Double Tree they allow guests to sleep in rooms at night and if we wanted to talk and have a gathering we could contact their sales department for a conference room or stay elsewhere.
When I asked to have the contact information to the General Manager, David obliged and we ended our phone call. Almost immediately I wrote a very thorough email to the General Manager Andrew Behnke describing that we spent money, as any other guest lodging at the establishment, to make a safe decision and have somewhere enjoyable to lodge after and evening out but instead we were threatened with such intensity and not given any option to alleviate the situation that we felt pushed into a corner and forced to feel uncomfortable. In the conclusion of my email I requested a response from Mr. Behnke and to this day there has been no effort in trying to discuss the displeasure of my stay and that is why I am leaving this review.

There are not sufficient words to describe how happy my husband and I were with our experience dealing with the Claremont Doubletree as our wedding venue. I was having a very difficult time booking a venue. Since I had already decided on a lot of DIY things for my wedding (doing all my own flowers, decorating the ceremony space), I was only looking at basic packages everywhere I went. I did not realize how much that would change the way I was being treated by vendors. I was still having a large wedding, there would still be a large bill. I was not happy… until I went to the Claremont Doubletree.
We sat down with John Guzwiller (the Director of Catering) for our first meeting, and it was the first time in all of the wedding hunting that I didn’t feel like a second-​class citizen for not needing the largest, most expensive package! He made us both feel at ease, answered all of my ridiculous questions, sat there patiently while I looked through my wedding binder to make sure I didn’t miss anything, and was very honest. He let us know what which aspects of décor were more important, and how to prioritize those features in our venue budget. He was so helpful, I finally knew we had found the right space (and the right staff) for our special day.
One very cool note is their wedding coordinator deal. We were informed that we could get $ 750 off of our ceremony fee IF we hired a coordinator from their list of preferred vendors. We called the one John suggested, and were shocked and amazed to hear that her special Doubletree day-​of package started at $ 750…it was like getting a whole new service for FREE! John took the time to match us up with the coordinator he felt would be the best fit for our wedding. He even made sure we met in person at a Doubletree mixer! I am so happy we listened to him!
We had a lot of things that made our wedding unique, and therefore, a bit high maintenance. It was a rainbow wedding, so I needed 7 different colors for my chair ties. I had bookmarks for seating cards, so I needed 2 tables to fit them all. We had a video on for the cocktail hour, so we needed a projector in that room… the list goes on and on. Yet, despite all of our special requests and labor intensive extra jobs, John never said «no,» never even hesitated to make helpful suggestions, and never stopped listening when I talked about my vision. Emails were always promptly answered, and it was so easy to do things that I hear brides complain about all the time. It was simple to make payments, set up a room block, get ahold of John, make changes… etc.
I set up a lot of things myself (because I have control issues, not because they didn’t offer to help), and I told John I’d like to set up the day before the wedding. He let me know months early that, as long as no one booked my room for Friday it would not be a problem. No one booked, and they had the room set up and ready for me to decorate Thursday, so I when I came in early Friday, it was all ready for me to transform. The banquet manager checked on me regularly to be sure I didn’t need anything. He brought my parents and husband (fiancé at the time) bottled water while we set up, moved tables for us, asked if the chair ties were exactly as I wanted them… it was amazing!
My wedding was so beautiful and unique. It would not have been as wonderful as I had imagined had I gone anywhere else. The Claremont Doubletree and John Guzwiller exceeded all of my expectations. I was able to really enjoy my wedding because it ran so smoothly. I cannot even begin to count how many guests told me that the food was the best they had ever had at at wedding, or the guests that told me it was simply the best food they had ever had. All of the rooms were spotless, the staff was friendly (they have 1 server per every 2 tables which is RARE! usually servers are overwhelmed at a weddings), my guests felt like they were being taken care of (a few of them even tried to tip their servers), it was all amazing!
Most people have a TON of things that go wrong on their wedding day, my day went smoothly and everything was GORGEOUS! I cannot stress enough how outstanding my wedding experience was with the Claremont Doubltree. I cannot even imagine what it would have been like in another venue. I was wowed at every step– estimate to wedding day. How many brides can really say they have no regrets? I can!

Loved my 6 day get away here! Awesome breakfast, beautiful courtyard, very friendly staff. My room was serviced at a timely matter daily, pool was awesome. Needless to say, we will be back! Special thank you to Marvin for the awesome hospitality.

**Reviewing as a wedding venue**
My wife and I had our wedding reception here and had our guests at this hotel within our reserved block of rooms. We worked directly with the Director of Catering, John, who was exciting and personable. The prices we paid for everything were quite reasonable.
John was incredibly responsive and detail oriented. We never had one minute of worry that something wouldn’t be exactly as we wanted it. Food was good (not outstanding), cake was beautiful and tasty (you can go through their preferred bakery vendor, which I would suggest).
The space is beautiful and well kept. A large portion of our guests were out of town and they had nothing but good things about their rooms. As we were the bride and groom, we had a wedding suite that was absolutely beautiful. We totally recommend this venue, you can’t beat the value for the amazing service you get.
The DoubleTree set up a shuttle for our guests to attend the nearby ceremony at Claremont Presbyterian Church.
We originally had it set up so it was open bar for beer, wine, and signature cocktail; but it became open bar for any cocktail, which was good I would say. The beer provided we had lee-​way to choose kegs supplied through their only vendor. I was able to get AleSmith IPA sourced, which was awesome. However, we weren’t able to take leftovers to-​go in growlers haha. Wine bottles we were allowed to source ourselves and save a lot of money. We brought in about 6 cases from Costco.
One minor issue is that we gave John our table arrangement for guests at the reception according to a map of the space. Although everyone was seated with their correct group, the physical table numbers were not aligned with the map we provided. In other words, we wanted Table 1 with all the youngsters near the DJ and dancefloor and older folks away from the noise. Instead, the opposite happened. So that plan didn’t go so well.
Other than that, we had a blast and would recommend this location as a wedding venue all around.

Stayed here with some friends on July 4^th weekend. Friend had booked a room through a 3^rd party site for a good deal. Due to work, we arrived late but we tried calling prior to see if we can get a double bed room. We were notified that they were fully booked through the weekend and had only king sized bed room available with no rollaway beds available.
Upon arrival, we had tried to ask again. At the same time, there was a lady who wanted a king-​sized bed room but only got a double room due to some group booking/​different rate they had booked under. We had suggested to swap rooms since they had what we wanted and we had what they wanted but staff was not helpful and stated multiple reasons why it cannot happen with something along the lines of one paying more than the other, this rate and that rate, not able to due to her stay being like 10 days long and would require her to move rooms, etc etc Long list of reasons. Ok fine so we stayed with our king bed room for a day, sleeping 3 to a bed. They had suggested to call first thing in the morning to request for a rollaway bed.
So we called. They said that none are available. Stopped by on the way out, none available. Asked to call later. Called later, said they would tell the next person that comes in after shift changes. The person said she’ll call if we get a bed. Nope. No call.
After dinner, we had decided to pick up an airbed at a local target because we had my friends sister stay with us for the night and would be cramped for 4 people on 1 bed. Upon return to the room, there was a rollaway there. Unfortunately, the bed is old and so dipped, you can feel the cross bar on your lower back. Luckily we picked up an airbed.
To be honest, if it wasnt for it being a nice doubletree. Great surroundings and room. The rating wouldnt be a 3, and be a bit lower. I’ve stayed with various doubletrees for many years and had never ran into problems like this.

Well i have two reviews for the Dub but I’ll combine it into one.
My husband to be got a smaller room, just for him and his groomsmen to get ready in and apparently it was an older room with equally older amenities. But hey that was his choice, he told me he didn’t need a suite.
Parking was a bit of a shamble as well on both accounts. Notably it is situated right by Piano Piano but that’s another story.
The girls room (s), well, we had all modern fixtures/​furniture/​amenities and we were pretty impressed. Like we were pleasantly surprised. We got a suite with an attached larger suite. The great part of it is, it wasn’t just a regular suite, we got the business suite which means we got a huge ass conference room partitioned on the other side of the sleeping area. It was mad cool cause we had TONS of real estate for our make up team, videographer and photographer for wedding prep.
The guys (sans groom) came by to take shots with us and we still had plenty of room to hang out comfortably.
Room service was OK, we got it several times the night prior and that morning.
We all really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t mind coming by again, as long as we got the updated room. Oh and all those free cookies!

Unfortunately, I’ll need to amend my review a tad, but my former review was so recently written, I had to update it this way. I spoke with my husband regarding his room, cause quite honestly I didn’t think to ask, and he didn’t notify me sooner because he didn’t want to stress me out on the day of.
I had requested he got a deluxe «larger» than standard size room so he and his groomsmen could comfortably fit in there and take decent «getting ready» photos. I spoke with each of the guys and all agree the room they got was standard or even smaller than that. It definitely was not a larger room as advertised and per what I paid for. I called to inquire about the room and the lady who I spoke didn’t seem to confident in her response, at one point she even stuttered and said that particular room number was a standard sized room, then corrected herself saying it was a deluxe. She said she thought online the rooms were called larger which is the equivalent of a deluxe — funny because she kept stating she thought this or that.
I am so torn because we quite enjoyed our room, but I feel somewhat led on by being given this allegedly larger room which was no bigger than a standard room –at the higher premium.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont is a great place to stay during a weekend getaway in Claremont. The hotel has a casita feel to it. The lobby has a very classic look and during check in, you will receive their famous Chocolate Chip Cookies, fresh and warm with melty chocolate chips and homemade taste.

The 1 King Bed with Balcony Room on the top floor includes complimentary WiFi, 37-​inch LCD Flat Panel HDTV, air conditioning, bath slippers/​bathrobe, clock radio with MP3 connection, hairdryer, iron/​ironing board, and mini refrigerator. For business travelers, a large desk with ergonomic chair, complimentary remote printing, and high speed internet will keep you connected. The room is comfortable for two. The bathroom is a little small but works for a weekend getaway or solo business traveler.
The Orchard Restaurant opens at 6 a.m. with wonderful breakfast options:

Between the lobby and the Orchard Restaurant is a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy an afternoon beverage. It’s also big enough to rent for a family get-​together or corporate event. At night, overhead string lighting and lights around the landscaping provide the perfect ambiance.
Behind the courtyard, an ample size pool glistens in the morning sun. Its location is centralized and perfect for any room in the hotel.

I was in Claremont for a wedding and all of the Brits who traveled to California for the wedding stayed here. We were SO pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel is huge, I think there are 4 buildings in total. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there is a lovely pool area and outdoor eating area.
Most impressive for me were the staff — so friendly on reception and at breakfast. They were more than accommodating when I asked if I could get a carry out box for my boyfriend (who was unable to get up due to an extreme hangover: D).
All in all a great and reasonably priced hotel. I would definitely stay again!

Oooohhh, what a nice experience for United Premier members! This hotel is older but very close to some very key things going on in Claremont including my school.

I can’t comment if this is the experience for everyone. As a United frequent flyer, we get HHonors (Hilton Honors) complimentary, and this was my experience as I arrived. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
