I’ve been a customer of Terri’s(and Ray’s) for almost 20 years. My hair is very«temperamental» and I’ve been nothing but pleased about my color, cuts, and styles over all of these years. Terri keeps me updated and doesn’t charge a fortune. I have to travel now over 1 ½ hours each way to see Terri, but it’s more than worth it! My daughter and son have also been clients over the years and Terri has gone over and beyond to insure their hair was to their satisfaction. My daughter’s special dance hair styles were always voted, «Best Hair» as Terri is so artistic and applied extra touches. You are in good, experienced, capable hands with either Terri or Ray. I’ve visited salons around the world on my travels and none is as good as Rio de Ojas. Not for any price. P. S. I am in the jewelry business and always end up buying GREAT gift pieces here — jewelry, home accessories, bath products — really wonderful selection and prices.

I frequent this place when I have time to kill in downtown Claremont. It has rather unique items in here and if you are a favorite of dia de los muertos items then you have hit the jackpot! I especially am a fan of their wrapping presents skills LOL and they do have plenty of nice jewelry to select from in case you are looking for a gift item such as that. Service is always nice and they have a plethora of items to choose from including some culinary treats as well. Respectfully Reviewed

This is one of the most unique shops I have ever been in and I love purchasing gifts here, as well as getting fantastic haircuts(told you it was unique!). I can always find something for myself or my friends here — they’ve got candles, jewelry, scarves, dishes, chocolates, aprons, cute house items, lots of Day of the Dead stuff, too. It is a feast for your eyes just to go in there. I highly recommend it!

Ray and Terri are amazing, warm and generous people. My 88 year old grandmother gets her hair done every Friday at 11am by Ray. She has ever since I could possibly remember. She has had some unfortunate events and poor health this past year and they have always been so concerned and caring when I go in for hair appointments. This past Saturday my grandmother was only 2 weeks post op from hip surgery and both Terri and Ray assisted in her transport and made her feel special and beautiful! The merchandise is awe inspiring! I want everything in the store! Christy is always helpful and does a creative and perfect job at wrapping all the treasures I find!

Ray, who is one of the owners, is the nastiest, most condescending stylist I’ve ever come across. Evidently he regards some clients as stylish and worth flattering, and some as beneath contempt. It’s a wretched experience. In addition: the price he quotes is not the price he actually charges, which is something that is unethical and humiliating. We used to see a different stylist, someone who was both good and polite. We recommended the salon to a friend whose daughter went to have her hair cut. She brought the amount of money she was quoted for the haircut, and a tip.(She thought that she would be seeing our stylist, but got switched to Ray.) She was in tears when she phoned me to come bail her out, since Ray charged her $ 25 more than he had quoted her. Of course she did not have that money, since it was vastly more than the price she had been quoted! Rather than make her even more miserable, I paid the(outrageous) bill, and we left. But we’ll never go back, nor will we recommend the salon(on the contrary).

This place is so cute! I could spend hours in here looking for little gifts for my whole family! Some of their painted stuff is made by their daughter, who happens to be a local artist. For all my holiday shopping, I know where to go. :)

This place is great and the people are so friendly and informative. Almost everything is made from local artists or free trade. You’ll always find something truly unique here!

really disappointed in the store although I love their merchandise and have shop there numerous times. but when the sales associate just stands there and watches everything you do. makes your shopping experience not so good. to say the least I won’t be going back, even though I love their merchandise. they need to work on not making feeling people uncomfort

going into Rio de Ojas is more fun than anything — from garden art(which I love) to candles(which we love to burn at home) to having Terri cut my hair(WONDERFUL style and cut) to some really fun jewelry and home décor Rio de Ojas is the place to go. Hooray and so glad they are there!
