Daddypops is a solid breakfast destination. Nestled into an old train car, this old fashion diner has a small town comfortable ambiance. The staff is very friendly, and you will not find yourself sitting behind an empty cup of coffee. The food is good, and it is neat sitting at the bar and watching the bacon sizzle 10 feet in front of you.

Beautiful all original train car diner. Good food, decent coffee, fair price. We’ll be back.

Stopped for a late breakfast today. I got the veggie omelet and my hubby got the quickie sandwich. We both got the home fries. My omelet had everything I could have wanted in it — broccoli, tomato, onion, spinach, peppers and mushrooms. It was perfectly cooked. Hubby devoured his sandwich and said it was delicious. The home fries were cooked perfectly on the outside, and tender on the inside. This is an old school car diner, with lots of the original(and old) attributes of an old car diner. We loved it, and we’ll be back. Service was quick and friendly.

First off, this is a classic old school New England diner. I’ve read the reviews on here and not sure what people expect. It’s a diner! I’ve come here on several occasions for breakfast. The staff is friendly. The food is good. The portions are hefty. And prices are reasonable. They only take cash so be prepared.

Food was OK. A dead fly was fossilized on the windowsill beside our table and there was a funny smell. When we got up it became clear the smell was due to a large pile of dog crap beneath our table. The waitress was very nice, so they’ve got that working for them.

Its too small and for everything being warmed up out of a can overpriced. Don’t believe me head to the bathroom in the rear and see for yourself their pantry of cans. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about scummy dinners serving food from a can but seriously the only way that works is with killer coffee and rock bottom prices. FAIL

This was one of the worst eating out experiences I have ever had. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place one morning for a late breakfast. Our server was somewhat attentive when we first arrived, took our drink order and brought us our drinks. While she was taking our food order two boys walked in who we immediately realized were her boyfriend and friend. This became obvious because immediately after taking our order instead of putting it in to the kitchen she sat at the counter top arguing with her boyfriend about getting a ride when she got out of work. At this point it became clear that our server would rather be hanging out with her boyfriend and friend because she proceeded to shout to the other end of the diner and ask the cook(presumably the manager) if they were closing early. They decided to close early and the open sign was flipped to close, at which point our service went drastically downhill and we felt extremely unwelcome and more of an inconvenience. Our order finally made it’s way to the kitchen at which point our server continued to sit at the counter close enough for us to hear their entire conversation, which at several points was largely inappropriate and I felt uncomfortable overhearing it. The server proceeded to answer a call on her personal cell phone and get into an argument with whomever was on the other line, in the middle of the diner for us to hear. While all of this was taking place she never came back to offer us coffee or juice refills, our food finally made its way to our table and was mediocre diner food, nothing to rave about but not inedible. While eating our food our server continued to hang out at the counter with her friends having crude and inappropriate conversation that was well within earshot of our table and quite frankly not what we wanted to be listening to while eating our breakfast. I was finally able to get our servers attention and ask for an ice coffee refill. Her boyfriend, who had just been outside smoking cigarettes and had not washed his hands, proceeded to go behind the counter and get my ice coffee and deliver it to my table. When the cook(possibly the manager) was finished cooking she proceeded to hang out at the counter with everyone and partake in wildly inappropriate conversation that included multiple racial slurs. I will also say that we were both shocked at our $ 34 bill for a diner breakfast for two. All in all the food was not the worst and if it wasn’t for the miserable, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable experience that we had courtesy of the staff we would probably go back, however we will never go back to this establishment and will make sure that we advise people not to waste their time and money.

I had lunch here today with my wife. It was pretty standard diner fare, though a somewhat limited menu. I had a steak sandwich and she had a bacon cheeseburger. The décor is just what you’d expect from a 50+ year old railcar converted into a diner — custom-made wooden booths, a long counter with stools, lots of old decorations, etc. About half the things I wanted they were out of today. The steak sandwich lunch comes with two sides, so I asked for a side salad and«daddyfries». Well, they were out of daddyfries today, so I had home fries instead. Then, about midway through making the lunch, they realized they don’t have enough lettuce for a salad. So my options for sides were tomato soup or cole slaw, and I opted for the slaw. Beth’s burger came with chips, and apparently she got the last potato chips in the joint, too, and the staff had to call to mom to have her to go to the store. On the plus side, for the trouble, the waitress didn’t charge me for the lunch special — just the sandwich. My sandwich was tasty, but Beth’s burger was even better. The home fries were basic fried potatoes, but were good. And the cole slaw seemed to be homemade. I wasn’t in the mood for cole slaw, but ate most of it anyhow, so I guess it was fine. Prices are reasonable. Important note: The restaurant is NOWHERE near where the Unilocal map shows it. It’s actually downtown right on the edge of the town square /roundabout.

Had a chance to get out of town for the day Sunday on my motorcycle and I took full advantage of it. After a real nice165 mile ride, I pulled in to Daddypops and bellied up to the counter starving and in dire need of some hot coffee, pretty quick. You know what I mean, you want and need the first one in a hurry. It didn’t happen. Now it’s 10:40 a. m and the place is busy but, not really THAT busy and all the help seem to be working at a frantic pace doing something but nobody seems to notice me quietly fading away at the counter. Finally, eye contact and” coffee please”.It still took a while but I was victorious. Time crept by slowly and I noticed a few people waiting anxiously for their food to arrive and heard«yours is coming right up, sorry for the delay», more than a few times. I ordered mine as the server was flying by. It was a good 20 minutes before I got my order and I pretty much inhaled it as I was now soooo hungry. My 2nd and 3rd cup came alot quicker than the first, thank God. The prices are right here and the food was pretty good but, the coffee was very good. The server was friendly and nice but the wait was just plain torture. I still liked it after everything but, next time I’ll arrive less than starving with some extra time on my hands.

Ladies and Gentlemen: This is a VERYOLDLOCALDINER! An old diner car just off of the Pleasent Street rotery. Standard diner fare and a very local crowd. Its like going back to the 1950s, no, the 40’s. Not sure but decide for yourself. Claremont needs your business.
