This is the place to go for music instruction across a wide range of instruments and genres, adult or child. If you just want to learn rock or pop on guitar, bass or drums there are cheaper places, but for anything less ubiquitous than that you’ll want to go here. They have been around forever and hire top notch people.

I am 37 yrs and took a piano class with Irina. She is the best teacher and very easygoing and cool. I would recommend her for children also.

My son has now been attending the Claremont School of Music for 2 years now. believe it or not he started Suzuki Piano lessons at the age of 4. His piano teacher is excellent and she was a former elementary school teacher so she knows about working with young children. The school itself is excellent. They have at least three recitals a year that a student can participate in and the teachers can also give recitals at the school for their students. The recital hall is intimate and a plus to have for any music school. My son has also taken the Music for Little Kid’s class and a Summer of voice lessons(they offer Summer courses), and so far all of his teachers have been great. In fact he just mentioned the other day that he would like to start voice lessons again. The school has the right motive — to instill a love of music in the next generation. It shows as they are a non-profit organization and have been since the beginning. They also have a scholarship program to help those who cannot afford the price of lessons. Highly recommend this school.

Claremont Community School of Music has successfully been around for several years. Its continual success, despite challenging economic hardships, is a testimony to how well the staff, teachers, and music opportunities have continued to enrich people’s lives. I started learning the violin at Claremont Community School of Music when I was 9 years old, and now I am an active professional violinist in the Los Angeles area. CCSM has wonderful teaching facilities, group classes, individual classes, ensemble groups, orchestra, AND a performance hall. All of the tools you need for a well rounded musical education are accessible at CCSM. Families or individuals with financial hardship can apply for scholarship opportunities if they wish to take lessons, but cannot afford to do so. The school has a lot to offer, which is why I was very grateful when I was recently given the opportunity to teach there myself. Overall, I would definitely recommend pursuing music lessons at CCSM because I have personally seen the school enrich people’s lives for over a decade.
