It has been quite some time since we have visited. From those around us, the trick seemed to be to special order everything, as opposed to eating from the belt. A few noted changes since our last visit a good while ago: younger staff, no fried shrimp or calamari put on the belt, several items on the belt that were mysteries even when we lifted the foggy see through covers off, and no spicy tuna, which they use to be all-but known for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall I felt the food was a notch lower than when we used to come by fairly often. They were open on a holiday so street-cred for that. I would consider returning.

Not a good selection and the owner lied when I asked if the salmon was farmed or wild. It’s obvious it is farmed. The waiting staff is sub-par, so many better sushi restaurants in this area.

Sushi good, Vegas are the best, only issue is wait times and the annoying groups of two who take booths. Will definitely eat there again tho!

Never was the greatest place. … limited menu and long wait but this trip may be my last ! Never could get low sodium soy sauce, no small plates or wasabi, and a dirty tea cup– gross !

If you like to wait an hour to sit and eat for twenty mins, then be my guest. From the time I walked into that place it was like a zoo. They had more people prepping food then helping seat/clean /and serve drinks. After waiting an hour my dad and I finally got a semi cleaned seat pointed out to us. As we sat down the man continued to seat others but no drinks were offered for 15mins. After we got our waters we were told that they don’t have any trays for soy sauce available. The food was terrible. I can’t believe they call that calamari. I wouldn’t even go near this place again. Sushiville in Gresham is actually amazing! Try that instead.

We have been going to this location every once in a while. Tonight was the last time. We didn’t get most of the things that we special ordered. We got to listen to the staff make rude, condescending remarks to an obviously new staff member because she didn’t know what she was doing. All while they made knowing glances at each other behind her back. They overcharged us. Our water was empty for almost the entirety of our dinner. And to top it all off the sushi on the belt was old and warm. We will not be going back. Things really seem to have become worse at this location over the last several months.

Prices are very reasonable and quality is higher than many other«belt» sushi places in the area. I like that you can order anything to be made up fresh– I generally get nigiri made up, as there’s never unagi or seared salmon on the belt, two of my favorites. The calamari is usually good, but this last time was quite chewy and crunchy. It can take quite awhile to get a chance to order food, and then wait for it to get made up(and it’ll arrive at all different times, and it may be accidentally given to other people I’ve seen). Anything hot needs to be ordered fresh– my husband grabbed potstickers off the belt and they were very cold(which makes one wonder about the freshness of the belt sushi). For the price, the issues are tolerable and any quality issues from the belt are resolvable by ordering fresh, so the place isn’t bad.

The first time I came here, I didn’t really like sushi. But after coming here, I’d want to come back here to eat more. The inside looked really nice and the staff was friendly. The belt looked really cool, and the the fried calamari was DEE-LICOUS! My Partner and I would try to come by more often but it always looks full, but I don’t mind waiting.

Sushi land is not my favorite sushi-go-round place(that would be Sushiville in Tualatin) but for the price, I have always had a good meal here. My daughter used to work at Kohl’s so she would lunch here very often. The staff has always been very nice to us and I’ve never been disappointed with anything. We usually show up around 11am since they get very busy from noon to about 2ish. I always order fried calamari right away then just wait for some of my favorites to come around: spicy tuna, asparagus roll, jalapeño roll when they have it, salmon, edamame… yummy. They don’t regularly do a calamari roll like Sushiville does… oh man, my fave! However, I am always satisfied by the time we leave and the price can’t be beat.

It was terribly busy when I went, the service wasn’t very good, the place was very dirty with food all over the floor from previous customers. The worst part of the experience, however, was the selection on the train. My group, and the group next to us were not happy that everything was the same and there was hardly anything good to choose from. In the hour we were there, 50 minutes was waiting for new options, and 10 was eating. Actual sushi wasn’t anything different than Safeway pre packaged. Because there was no selection on the train everyone was ordering there own, which defeats the purpose of going to a sushi train…

Crappy service ever. Came in on a Monday around 430 pm before the rush. Gave my order to the server since that’s what I was told to do. Didn’t even get half my order and a few things I ordered were given to other customers. There’s 1 guy working there who is nice and friendly but besides that everyone is rude and not willing to acknowledge you. This place use to be great but it’s gone down hill. Now I know why this place has such poor ratings.

If you’re looking for cheap and decent tasting sushi, sushiland isn’t a terrible place. I’ve come to this location multiple times, and just like many others who have wrote reviews for this location I’ve faced the same problems; POOR customer service, food takes too long, and I’ve had multiple times where my order was given to another customer. It’s annoying when you’re kept waiting for your food, and especially only to see it be passed off to someone else. But I recommend the location near Lloyd Center mall!

The food is on point! Price is pretty good. Costumer service could be a lot better. I had placed an order… They gave me half the order and disregarded the rest. Order again and waited 20 min just to get my soup & calamari.

Love their sushi, but the service is horrible. The wait is always horrible. They will ignore the phone for to go orders(I’ve seen them do this) and they never check on their tables for refills. But cheap, fresh sushi. **UPDATE: sushi isn’t very fresh… Now that I’ve been to several other sushi places I’m highly disappointed with this place.

Very upset to have to update an already bad review… but here I am. I decided to give Sushi Land one more chance; it’s was super hot today, cooking did not sound fun, my friends had mentioned wanting sushi, and it’s on my way home from work. When I arrived it was extremely busy, I was opting for take out knowing full well that would take time with how busy it was, but I could run a couple errands while they prepared it and that sounded like a great option. The young woman behind the register told me it would be ready around 7:50, so I headed out for my errands. I returned right at 7:50, and it wasn’t ready yet, which is totally ok, I didn’t mind waiting. It was what happened while I was waiting that really sent me over the edge. At about 7:55, a very little boy was going out the front door, the door snapped back at him, and caught his head between the door and the frame. Everyone waiting noticed, some offered help/asked the mom if he was ok, but not a single employee went to check on him and the mother at any time. The mother and son were also waiting to be seated, however she had stepped outside with him because he was crying and she was trying to make sure he was ok.(As far as I know he was.) But when the mother’s name was called, she couldn’t hear it, as she was outside with her child. Everyone inside waiting let the server know that the woman standing outside was who she was calling, I offered up the helpful fact that her son’s head had just been caught in the door(hence her calming him down.) The server walked over to the window and knocked on it to get the mother’s attention with a very frustrated look on her face(clearly not happy she had to knock on the window…) And that was that. They took their seats, and if that had been the only thing that happened tonight I would likely not be writing this review… however, it wasn’t. It is now 8:10, and I still didn’t have my food, but I opted to pay so it would go faster once it was ready, I wish I hadn’t paid early… While continuing to wait, a child(the same little boy…) threw up on the dining counter and all over the floor(this is not the problem, kids puke.) The problem was that 1.) I had to point out that there was vomit on the eating surface to the young woman working the register, 2.) she ran over to clean it up with towels… no bleach water, or gloves, 3.) she didn’t even completely clean it up, she just pushed it around the counter with said towels, 4.)(and most importantly) she then turned around, came back to the register and started to check people out… WITHOUTWASHINGHERHANDS! No joke. She was handling the register, money, a credit card, receipts, and more importantly to go orders… with VOMITONHERHANDS!!! I reminded her it was vomit, and she said yeah, I will wash my hands(or something to that extent) I said«Now.?» She then did another transaction, went into the back for less than 20 seconds, came back out with the rest of my to go order, and handed it to me. That was not enough time to have properly washed hands, also mind you there is still vomit on the counter and floor of the restaurant. I have never been more disgusted by the actions of a server in my life. Many people witnessed what happened, but didn’t know what to do. I then made sure to tell the server at the register that she needed to sanitize the whole area, including the register, and I left. We did not eat our $ 27.00 worth of sushi tonight… the compost got to have it. We instead opted for canned soup, because I knew for sure it didn’t have vomit on it. :/ I think it goes without saying, but I will not be going back.

Awful service by sushi-making crew!!! It seems like they always have an attitude towards customers! The worst customer service I’ve ever seen! I’ve come to this place several times now, and service by sushi-making crew is very bad. Today, I asked for prime salmon, and waited about 10 minutes before I was told that they do not have it. Than, I’ve asked for a hamachi, and waited for another 10 minutes, and it never arrived! I tried to remind a cook about my order, but it seems like he did not want to listen to me. So, I left, and probably for the first or second time in my life, did not leave a tip. I have never seen any smiles on cooks faces. I understand that they may have come from countries where people do not smile, but in America people smile, especially working in a food industry. Their sushi selection is very limited. I wish there was another conveyor sushi restaurant near by.

I have been here many times because it is such a convenient location and great prices, but I’m always disappointed. Foods messy and not fresh. This last time I went finally sealed the deal of me never coming back. I ordered a tuna roll and had a great view of the chef making it. He made my roll, grabbed a plate with old food on it, took the old food off the plate and then put my new«fresh» roll on the plate! I was disgusted! I immediately stood up and asked for the check. When they asked how my food was, I told them what I had saw and they said nothing. They just handed me my receipt! GROSSGROSSGROSS!

Stop by to order take out for my little sister and the waitress was very rude. She gave off the vibe of wanting me to leave than stay and wait. «It’s going to take awhile you sure you want to wait?» It’s not even busy, she just served two people that came in the same time as me. It’s been 20 minutes and I’m still here.

This place is a bit crapy. I picked a roll and ate it. To find out that it still had the plastic on it. Gross. Then the ice cream is so frozen that I can’t even put my spoon in to scoop out the green tea ice cream to eat. The sushi taste really like fish, more than it should taste. I don’t like this place. They are slow order calamari and we didn’t even receive them till about 30 mins later. Ew

This makes me wish Unilocal could have a half star or zero star rating. So lets chat about when I went there near the end of March first. Got there around 8:15 and there wasn’t really much left on the belt. So okay, usually you can go and ask them for food. So I did…30 minutes later didn’t get anything. I guess the policy of this place is «If there’s to go orders, forget about the customers» because that’s pretty much what it was. You have 6 workers there all working on to go orders. Now today. Ordered take-out and it was supposed to take 20 minutes or so. What happened instead? The chefs finished the to go order and the waitstaff was no where to be found so the food just sat there… waiting for at least ten minutes. But hey, I guess not caring about food that is supposed to be enjoyed fresh and instead, focus on the people paying is the policy there. Any one thinking about eating here, save your money and enjoy McDonalds or have actual GOOD sushi and go to Sinju over at Clackamas Town Center or somewhere else. Going into overdraft poverty is better than eating here.
