Black Rock Coffee Bar

Two girls were working tonight (blonde and brunette)… I arrived at one window the same time someone else arrived at the other. (there was no lines or anyone behind us also.) they both went to that window with the other girl (assuming a friend or coworker since they both knew her). It was fine they were saying hello and visiting shortly, but they didn’t say anything to me and only acknowledgement was a quick look from the brunette in my direction, and then continued telling their friend about something that happened there today and having social time. I sat there waiting for SEVERAL minutes and no effort or care was given that I was sitting waiting… I eventually had to leave because I had something else I had to get it in time… I will not be returning if this is how these teens will be dealing with customers. Thankfully Human Bean is down the street now with better service.

Coffee tastes burned and they tried to mask the burned flavor with sweeteners. Epic fail BlackRock.

Stopped in last week and picked up a green tea. I expect hot tea, but this was boiling! I raised it to take a drink, the lid popped off and the cheap cup imploded sending boiling tea up my arm. I ended up with nasty burns. I’ll not be stopping there again!

Absolutely love this place! The staff members are always so polite and pleasant to deal with. The coffee is always spot on and of the highest quality! I make it a point to swing though here as much as possible to get my caffeine fix!

I loved their friendly staff. Also when I asked for a recommendation she suggested me to her favorite drink, the «pog» rockstar. It was so yummy! I go to black rock on 82^nd all the time it’s the best one ;)

Staff here is super friendly! I enjoy their coffee soooo much. I just wish the 82^nd location wasn’t so far from me.

Love their flavored red bull drinks and can’t count how many I could drink in a day if my heart wouldn’t explode. Not a fan of their coffee, I still hit up their competition for that one but the infused drinks are on point.
My only suggestion would be to have someone outside taking orders when it’s busy so that the drive through doesn’t jam up.

YUM! I love coming here in the mornings and grabbing a large iced caramel latte. They have tons of other things to drink like smoothies, Italian sodas, or flavored energy drinks. The staff is always super friendly and energetic. Try not to go during standard coffee times due to the huge line of cars on both sides– if you do go plan about 10 minutes to make sure you’re not late to your next destination. Worth the wait though every time!

We live on the other side of Clackamas, so it is always a treat for us to get a coffee here.
The kids hot chocolate is perfect and I got the «Jackhammer» (blended) and it was AMAZING!!!
The lines looped around BOTH sides of the building today… so I am NOT the only one who is a fan.
I don’t believe you have to be wearing a bikini to serve coffee… I much prefer the sweet gals who keep their boobies covered, have fun (even loud!) music playing AND put out a good coffee…

Everyone who works here is super friendly. They care about their customers and have a genuine interest in them. I can’t believe how fast they make my coffee too! Yesterday I accidentally got my coffee made with regular milk instead of almond milk. Today they gave me my coffee on the house. That’s how you keep business!

This Black Rock is near where I live so I tend to frequent it quite often. I love the seasonal coconut blondie and the ever present caramel blondie. I have had them hot, iced, blended. They’re always delicious!
The staff here has always been kind and upbeat (even when I’m still in my grumpy morning fog).
I will end up here again and again and again.
This is a drive-​thru coffee place with two drive-​up windows and a walk-​up window. There’s one set of tables and chairs on the patio.

I was excited seeing to that they were building a black rock near my house.
Now since they’ve opened my bf and I come here at least 3 times a week. We come for the good coffee, top notch service and attractive friendly staff. Also a plus they give the dog treats when we go through the drive through!

Nice change from Starbucks. They open early. Prices good. Hot coffee is always good.

I have read many reviews about Black Rock and see many Unilocal Elite check in with regularity. Needless to say, I was excited to give Black Rock a shot. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations among similar establishments.
The service was delightful and is a major reason for three stars. The young lady was cheerful and helpful for our first visit. She was very efficient and a pleasure to interact with.
I ordered a Sugar Free, Iced, Caramel Blonde. I also requested an extra shot of Espresso. The drink was not on par with my favorite establishments (Dutch Bros. And Starbucks). Most disappointing was an after taste that reminded me of licorice. I did finish it but was not a fan and I am not in a rush to return. I hate to say it but I would choose McDonalds McCafe Products over this.
I know my fellow Elite will disagree and that is good. It is after all, our different tastes and disbursement of patronage, that allows multiple chains to survive. That is good for everyone# :-)

I usually go to DB but recently my friend got me hooked on BRCB Rockstars. They’re pretty awesome. DB offered their Rebel Energy Drinks however as tasty as they are you get half the size for twice the price. BR offers what’s considered a double at DB for only $ 3.50 while DB is $ 3.75 for ½ the drink. The drive thru is usually pretty quick and when it’s running slow they’re always apologetic and sometimes give you an extra hole punch. The girls are lovely & seem to enjoy their jobs.

So happy they open early! Headed up to Clackamas @ 5:30am for fishing and had to stop at here, of course, to get our coffee. Amazing how awesome these folks are even at the crack of dawn!
Quick, friendly service (as usual) and my coffee was awesome (as usual).
The thing that I love most about Black Rock is that they are consistent. No matter which location I go to and whoever is working, I know my coffee is going to be good :)

The good: their drinks are pretty good! I will always recommend the flavored rockstars, only the coffee if you’re looking for something overly sweet.
The bad: service is super slow, if there are more then 5 cars ahead of you, it’ll take at least 20 minutes to get to the window. Also, the people are not friendly, when i drive up to a coffee bar i expect a friendly barista chatting about her day while recommending coffees to try, well, not here. Barley more than 3 words other then «what do you want?»
All in all, i’ll go back, only because it is close, but if you live near another one, go to that instead.

Espresso is awesome and perfectly brewed.
The girls who work here are upbeat, professional, and fun. Some places can have some real snooty brats!
I’ve never had a problem here… They have a punch card… And they have yummy food.
(It’s actually the same packages of food you get at Dutch brothers.)
My only suggestion is when the lines are long… Keep the customer conversations to a greeting and order. It’s sort of annoying sitting in line watching 2 baristas have a conversation with one car when there are ten cars waiting in line for service!

The service is always great and the employees are always really friendly, but… The coffee always tastes burnt. I wish the service and smiles were enough for me, but I can’t quite move past the taste of the coffee.

Quick service and good tasting Americano. Sometimes the Baristas aren’t paying close attention when taking your order so make sure you confirm your order once it’s placed.
