Came here last night with friends to catch up. This is a nice place to hang out or have a beer. For the decorations they have a pit, a cave room, and dinosaur skeleton replica, as well as a water fountain. It is not the most realistic display but is good enough for great atmosphere. The waitresses are nice and the food is so so, a little salty, but good enough. Overall a nice hangout spot. Sometimes they have specials on the menu or the price too.

Went there tonight. It was closed on a Saturday night. Don’t know why. No signs posted.

I honestly don’t know why I’m writing this review only now because my family regularly frequents this place, and it never disappoints. The only way to really describe these dishes is flavorful! If you’re here, you should definitely get the three cup chicken, xi gua(green vegetable melon) with salted egg, and the large spicy seafood bowl. The three cup chicken is my favorite because the flavors are so intense and delicious. It’s not spicy either, so it’s perfect for those who crave flavor but not necessarily spiciness. The large spicy seafood bowl can look pretty intimidating with its bright red color, but you can always ask for less spiciness. If all else fails, just scoop from the bottom of the dish. The flavors are just as tasty, just without the burning sensation in your mouth. The interior is decorated with dinosaur bones and«wooden» tables and stools, and the waitresses are dressed in Jurassic themed clothing. It’s a perfect place for drinking and games, and you can often find people having a good time playing liar’s dice while eating.

This food is what the Vietnamese call«nhau food» — literally«drinking food.» Flavor-blasted dishes that pair nicely with a tall glass of beer. If you don’t live this far east — Uncle Yu’s is the same owner I believe, and same food, but located in San Gabriel Valley. Recommended dishes: — 3 cup chicken — basil clams — any of their basil dishes actually — salt and pepper squid — lamb skewers — grilled squid

It’s the best Taiwanese restaurant. They have the best minced pork rice among all Rowland height and Hacienda Height restaurants. Seriously, people need to come here and eat. You guys will never regret! ;)

I’ve stopped by twice. This place is my jam! The ambiance is ridiculous and fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Yes, the food can be greasy and salty but it’s a guilty pleasure. We’ve had the blood cube hotpot, stir fried A lettuce, fried and baked rice blood cubes, fried bbq sauce noodles, fried rice, corn, three cup chicken, popcorn chicken, sliced sausages, stir fried cabbage, stinky tofu, etc. My faves are the fried rice blood cubes, popcorn chicken, stir fried cabbage and A lettuce.

I love themed restaurants so I was excited to check this place out. Walking in kind of reminded me of Indiana Jones at Disneyland haha. You can tell they put a lot of work in designing the interior. There was even a giant Dinosaur skeleton in the middle of the dining area. I came with a group of coworkers during lunch and we all ordered the lunch special. The lunch special I chose came with a drink, soup, and a main dish. I can’t remember the exact price, but I remember it was veryyy reasonable for the amount of food I was getting. I ordered the Taiwanese sausage plate + black tea + radish with sparerib soup. Food was just alright… definitely not my first choice for Taiwanese food, but I would come back again for a quick weekday lunch.

This place is awesome! Walking in I instantly felt like I was transported to a pub in Taiwan. I held my birthday party here last night and I could not have been more happy with the experience. The décor and environment lend to a fun atmosphere and lends itself to some serious consumption of copious amounts of delicious food and pitchers upon pitchers of beer. We had a group of 22 in their private room and my guests and I had a fabulous time. Service was beyond excellent, all the servers along with manager Panie were super nice, attentive and patient with our loud and intoxicated party. It was seriously the best service I’ve had at any kind of restaurant in a long time. Food wise, everything was great with about 40 dishes ordered, stand outs were the chicken cartilage skewers, 3 cup chicken, stirfried stinky tofu and the basil clams. If you haven’t tried Jurassic yet you owe it to yourself to go get a taste of authentic Taiwanese pub cuisine.

Adequate food and service. The ambience/theme is the bigger selling point though. Definitely a unique concept worth checking out, if only out of sheer curiosity. They do accept credit cards, but only on orders of $ 20 or more.

Jurassic… Taiwanese themed restaurant… I never knew a place like this existed. It’s like a Taiwanese Hooter’s but less impressive. The waitresses are easy on the eyes, they’re nice and fobby. The Taiwanese food was aiight… kind of bland. Do go for the beers on tap and finger foods. A good night with the fellas.

I’ve never really experience a restaurant like this anywhere before. Picture this, a Jurassic era themed restaurant with dinosaur skeletons and little caves that can pass for being on the Flintstone set with Asian girls dressed as cops and maids?! Yeah, this is Jurassic restaurant. As you walk in you feel like you are transported back in time but then the waitresses greet you in whatever insane outfit that they might be wearing for the night and it totally just breaks the immersion. It also very easy to get lost in here, my gf and I came here for my friend’s bday party and we walked around the entire place and still couldn’t find their table. It turns out; the table was up a tiny flight of stairs around the corner. The food here is very standard Taiwanese comfort food. Unfortunately there are not many pictures of the food so you have to go based on what you already know or just order something out of pure gut instinct and hopefully it is something that you wanted. The food comes out fairly quick and service was attentive though I’m not sure that it was influenced by the fact that we had a party of almost 20? We ordered a variety of food to share family style but at the end we were still fairly hungry only having a couple bits here and there of different dishes. I can’t say that I’ll be back here or not, the theme which is interesting does not give me enough reason for another visit, the food was mediocre and with so many other options in the area, it will be hard to justify coming here just for the gimmicky outfits but worth coming here to experience at least once. Just a note parking can be a pain since the lot gets filled very quickly but you can park in parking lot in the next plaza over with the grocery store and walk over. Bottom line: I would have liked this place to be more consistent to its theme of the Jurassic era. While the ambiance and décor of the restaurant sticks to it, the waitresses dressed in different cutesy outfits takes away from the overall experience.

Interesting themed restaurant! I really like the décor inside, especially when you first walk in and there’s water and rocks on each side of you. This place is similar to Uncle Yu’s Indian themed restaurant in San-Gabriel, except that this restaurant is Jurassic themed. Their menu is quite extensive and most items are the usual taiwanese fares you would find at other restaurants. Service was kind of slow even though the restaurant was not crowded at all. Perhaps it’s the way the place is designed and decorated – it’s probably hard for them to see you when you’re trying to flag down a waitress. Also, like many others have mentioned in their reviews, this place is also located in a kind of sketchy plaza – with a gentlemen’s club and a questionable bar as well. Overall, it’s a decent place to hang out with friends but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to come here.

If you live in the San Gabriel area, then you have probably been to Uncle Yu’s Indians. Jurassic is just another version of that, but a less nice version. I feel like they’re trying to copy off them, but they’re not doing as good of a job. The theme is unique though. Compared to Indians, the waitresses here are dressed more conservatively. It’s also located in a pretty secluded shopping center, so it’s not entirely convenient to get to compared to other places in the Rowland Heights/Industry area. Food :Not bad, but not top notch. I like the fried stinky tofu and the three cup chicken. If you run a Taiwanese restaurant and don’t get these two dishes down, then you wouldn’t do well. They do not have a problem here. The skewers on the other hand were okay. I got the chicken heart and the lamb. Lamb was not bad, but the heart failed here for me. It did not have enough flavoring on it. They have beers on the pitcher and in small or large bottles. I came on a weeknight and it wasn’t really busy. Overall, it’s a decent place to come eat at, but I would not deliberately drive all the way out here when there are many other places more convenient.

I have been to Jurassic Restaurant for so many times. There are several reasons I like coming to this restaurant. 1) Nice Ambiance. The interior design of the restaurant looks like a jungle back in stone age with a 1:1 size of dinosaur skeleton sitting in the center of restaurant. It is a nice and casual place to hang out with friends or family after work or on weekend. 2) Servers of this restaurant are all female and they dress up in Native American costumes(Uniforms) to match up with the theme of restaurant. However, I think servers in cave girl costumes would better fit to the interior environment in my opinion. Lol. They are all friendly and work professionally. They would come to your table frequently and replace your used plates with new ones or come and check if we need anything. 3) I also have to compliment the restaurant manager Panie. She always works diligently behind the wine bar counter making drinks, being a cashier or serving food or drinks to customers. I understand it is not easy for a girl to manage a busy restaurant like Jurassic. She is a very friendly person and always greets her customers with smile. I always saw her got along with customers well and treated her staffs nicely with respect. That’s why you will not be surprise to see many retain customers coming to this restaurant! 4) Of course their food is delicious(I’ve tried most of the food on their menu) especially when I am craving for authentic Taiwanese food. If you’ve never been to Jurassic Restaurant, I’d highly recommend you to give it a try! :)

Good food and great service. The girls there are super friendly. And the manager Panie is the best, she always paid attention to all details. She came and checked on us few times to make sure we liked our food and drink. fried oyster and stinky tofu, must order! Authentic and super tasty!

Taiwanese pub! It’s not necessarily a place I’d go with just me and my boyfriend because the portions are pretty big for just the two of us, but I think this is a fun place to get together with friends and drink. The theme and atmosphere makes it a bit more interesting. Some of the food was hit or miss, but overall I enjoyed the food here. –Beef fried noodle: Skimpy on meat, but so tasty. Lots of noodles. –Sausage with leek: Basically Taiwanese sausage sauteed with black bean sauce and lots of leeks and onions. Kinda skimpy on sausage, but this wasn’t bad. –Steamed lamb: Spicy and delicious! Came in a huge bowl of sauce. Again skimpy with the meats, but so yummy. –Rice wine chicken with herbs pot: Too strong on the wine taste. Made it taste bitter. Tasted better when it was diluted, which they do once your pot has boiled away. Refills were available for this pot. They added veggies and noodles to it. Chicken was really tender. In the end, we couldn’t handle the soup’s bitter taste anymore and we just dumped the chicken into the steamed lamb sauce, which turned out to be a really tasty move. –Skewers: Overall okay. I was disappointed with the lamb skewers, which was the primary thing I wanted to try here. The lamb skewers were dry and bland. The chicken skewers were dry, but seasoning was good. 3.5 stars for the food!

This was an extremely odd duck. It is a cute themed dinosaur restaurant that serves pretty hardcore Asian food. The food and the theme both seem really random together, but it still is a fun place to see at least once. It is located in what has to be the sleaziest strip mall I’ve ever seen. There is a strip club, massage parlor(where I’d wager you can get more than just a massage), smoke shop, some kind of gun store, fireworks stand, check cashing place. A bunch of run down cars, but two really really expensive ones(which must belong to the pimps who own the area). Basically they crammed every vice and degenerate thing into the same small area. So what a strange location for a silly Jurassic themed restaurant! The food was definitely hardcore for the white man palate. I like to experiment, so I ordered all the unusual stuff like«stench tofu» and a dish that contained schezuan peppercorns(which act like Novocaine to numb the tongue). Most of it was fairly gross, but interesting enough that I’m glad I tried it. They did have more typical dishes do such as various iterations of fried rice which were good, though the cuts of meat seemed unusually cheap and fatty. So there is some food you’re used to and some food that is more hardcore if you want to try something different. It was a little annoying that the waitresses were like begging us not to try the weird stuff. I understand that whitey goes in there and orders weird stuff and then wants to return it. But we were clearly interested in trying new things, so please don’t go four laps trying to talk us out of it. Maybe warn us once and then move on and give us the crazy junk we want. So I mean, I don’t know if this is a place I would go back to overall. It was not bad, just was not that good. And there is plenty of authentic Asian places of higher quality around. They might not have the outrageous atmosphere which is fun to see at least once, but in the end the food quality I just don’t think stood up enough to make it a repeat visit.

«To our valued patrons In celebration of our 9 year anniversary, our entire staff will be taking a 35 day vacation. We will be temporary closed for business staring …» This is what google says if you search«jurassic restaurant closed», but I can’t confirm what days they should have been on vacay… and looks like their website has issues with all the crazy ass dinosaurs and lava volcano crap. Anyway… I’m seriously hoping they did not close. Will report back after some more sleuthing… obviously a fan… lol ____ Ok passed by and looks like they got their alcohol license suspended… until 1⁄29. ___ Drove by last night and it still appeared to be closed… what in the world 1⁄30

CAVEGIRLS!!! Taiwan has penchant for some of the most bizarrely, even comically, themed restaurants imaginable and none of them best showcases this like Jurassic. Amid the maze of cave tunnels and an offbeat geologic museum complete with dinosaur relics, lies a bona fide Taiwanese beer pub with attractive, young Taiwanese girls donning scantily clad ‘cave woman’ outfits to take your orders. Imagine an Asian version of a Hooters restaurant setback to prehistoric times. Ingenious! Their menu consists of crispy and grilled meat dishes, three flavored clay pots, Chinese vegetables, fried rice and noodles, soups, hot pots and many more traditional Taiwanese dishes. Their beer and wine menu includes sake and soju. Non-alcoholic drinks include tea, milk tea, fruit juices and sodas. Dessert items include ice cream, milk snow, and cheese cake. Recommended: Grilled Chicken Skin, $ 2.99, Grilled Lamb Kabobs, $ 3.99, Combination Fried Rice Noodle, $ 8.99, Hot & Spicy Pan Fried Wide Noodle, $ 9.99., Grilled Sausage, $ 6.99, Fried Chicken Wing, $ 7.99. On the fence: Preserved Cabbage Pork Hot Pot, $ 13.99. The sour soup broth and cabbage were fine but hardly any meat and too much soup. Perhaps patrons will have the option to ask for more meat because there is unlimited servings of all soups. Not recommended: anything with stench(stinky) tofu. I tried the Deep Fried version, $ 6.99, and it tastes as bad as it smells and sounds. It is definitely an acquired taste and certainly did not suit my palates, and I am quite adventurous when it comes to food. The food is decent but it is not what will bring you back here no more than the buffalo wings at a Hooters. I like the fun, friendly atmosphere. By comparison, Uncle Yu’s Indian Themed Restaurant in San Gabriel is tamed, toned down and the servers are much more conservatively attired. The nearby Wala Wala Restaurant serves better food but there is no ‘eye candy.’ Is this a deal breaker? You will have to be the judge. For me, I give kudos to Jurassic and their cave girls!
