Amazing! From the hostess to the server. The server had lots of ideas for our meal. She was very knowledgeable. My friend had the flat iron steak, omg it was like butter so tender! The steak was cooked just right and it had asparagus and fingerling potatoes and purple potatoes sooo good! I had the short rib play with jasmine rice and marinated slaw. It was so flavorful. We had the Mediterranean sampler that came with hummus, baba ghanouj(roasted eggplant) and lebni. The pita bread was perfectly toasted. We had a great experience.

I won’t be coming here for a while. I’ve been here quite a lot since they opened — brunch a bunch of times, dinner a couple times, late night eats after going out to the bars a lot of times, my friends have hosted their birthday parties here even with bottle service in their side room area. Unfortunately, I had a poor experience here over the weekend. I came on a Sunday morning, which is really typical, as my friends and I come regularly to drink mimosas, have breakfast, and watch football games. I decided to go again this past weekend with a few friends to watch the AFC Divisional Round game, Steelers vs. Broncos. I am a Steelers fan, so I came here to have fun with my friends and enjoy PLAYOFF football. It’s not even the end of the first quarter — I’m excited, the Steelers are playing well, I’m cheering(so are Broncos fans next to me), but I was the only person in my group who was cheering for my Steelers. Meanwhile, there were a plethora of Bronco fans all around the place cheering also. Maybe I sounded louder because I am a girl and I was the only one in the corner area where we were sitting, so perhaps my voice was more amplified. Who knows. Anyways, this bartender lady comes up to me and asks me to quiet down because«this is a family place» and«people are complaining.» I’m sorry, WHAT? Maybe if this was week 1, you could tell me quiet down because this isn’t an important game, but really — it is the freaking NFL playoffs!!! And this is a «family place» — WEAREIN A CASINO!!! AREYOUKIDDINGME? I did«quiet down» a bit just because I didn’t want to have to drive home mid-game. I could understand if I was drunk, but I literally had maybe 1 – 2 mimosas by then. The most annoying part is that we were sitting at the cusp of the casino and restaurant, and I could hear loud cheering coming from the card room, which lasted the entire game. So if you’re going to ask me to quiet, you damn well better ask the people gambling to quiet down too, because this is a «family place.» Or are the gamblers more important than your restaurant patrons, because aren’t they being just as disruptive? Oh and then also, make sure you quiet everyone down, okay? Not just the lone girl in the corner with no loud men cheering next to her. I am giving 2 stars because the majority of all my prior experiences here were pretty fun. It is really unfortunate that this past weekend left a bad taste in my mouth, but oh well.

Came here one morning for breakfast, it was around 10:30, so a waitress greeted me and I asked if breakfast was still being served. She said yes absolutely we serve breakfast 24/7, was quite impressed with her service and the breakfast Omelette was very delicious. Will definitely come again.

Great service. I’ve been here before and had the baba ganush. I was hooked. but this time I got the beef phở. delicious! None of the resturants were open unless I wanted fast food. This was the perfect choice. I will definitely be back, but next time we wanna try the lemon blueberry pancakes. Yum

Their food is really really good here. Tonight I ordered the chicken breast and vegetables while Cheryl ordered the Kobe sliders. My chicken was moist and the veggies were very tasty. Cheryl liked her sliders as well and I’ve eaten them many a time before… very yummy! One of my favorite dishes is the Vietnamese salad. A very nice atmosphere and the restaurant is attached to Stones gambling hall so if you want to play some cards, you can do that and eat while playing. Smoke free environment makes it even better… live music on Friday and Saturday nights. We will definitely come back to eat here and more than likely I’ll be back to play some cards.

came here for brekkie and yeah it’s a bit odd to walk in at 8am on a sunday morning and see people at the card table but whatevs you do you, brah. my eggs were tasty(over medium) and my wheat toast was very good(it was the kind of bread with the grains and the nuts in there oh yeah!). the coffee is quite yummy and the bacon is outstanding! my side of fruit was a bit of a disappointment but it wasnt a big deal. the décor and ambiance are über hip. way too fancy for citrus heights lol! and it’s a great space with lots of room. i kept remarking how this place feels like it should be in rocklin or folsom. and our waitress was a joy. she was absolutely fabulous.

Went here for a Painting & Vino event. This place seems super cool. I would definitely come back for an evening of food, drinks, and gambling. Very clean, and fairly quiet! Non-smoking area truly is non-smoking. I didn’t smell it at all, which is great. Highly recommended!

Sammy’s is situated in the back of a strip mall, attached to a casino. Upon entering, you walk into a large open space centered by an island bar with multiple TV screens surrounding it. On either side of this TV bar island are luxury semi-circle booths. Awesome seats; choose these if possible. On the menu they say that most items are sourced organically, non GMO, with meat that is hormone free. Great! We ordered the pizza; thin and crispy with pears, arugula, prosciutto and blue cheese. I just asked my partner if she liked her pizza, and she smiled exuberantly as she proclaimed, «It’s great! Served just how I like it!» As for myself, I opted for an Asian dish, and it didn’t inspire. I was hoping for something more. But the lovely waitress with her good nature and big smile apologized, and because of her great mood I just couldn’t feel bad about the food. Great service! She was on-point with our water refills, and very attentive. I would totally come back when traveling through the area because I love how they source their ingredients and I would like to try other items on their extensive menu. Please keep in mind that this feels like a sports bar in the midst of casino. So it’s not romantic. But we had a good time anyway. Unique atmosphere. Clean.

Decided to have lunch at Sammy’s to see if their food is as good as we’d heard. We were not disappointed, it was delicious! There were 5 of us all ordering different dishes and each one was excellent! Btw the Mediterranean Dip Sampler… To die for! Service was impeccable from the time we came to the door, our host was friendly and helpful and our server Christina K.. Awesome! We will be back!

Last year, I did dined in at Sammy’s for the first time. Right now as of 8÷2÷2015, I’ve finally revisited that place for an another try. Located inside Stones Gambling Hall where card gambling is healed, Sammy’s Restaurant and Bar has it all delivering the incredible foods and drinks, so everyone will enjoy! As I entered, the atmosphere is very laid-back feel with the contemporary touch. Sometimes, it can be crowded, yet I have no problems at all as the crowd level is quite average depending if it’s busy or not. I did manged to come there during the night with fewer customers, so I decided to dine in at the bar. A good news for this place, it opens 24⁄7 which is the best ideal for late night dining goers! The servers and bartenders have done a good job! Ty, one of the bartenders at Sammy’s in the bar side has done a great helper by showing what the food is like this exotic vegetable, the purple potato. He gives good details about locally made foods perfectly, so I satisified with his response in ease. Now onto the food ordering, I ordered Crispy Spring Rolls with sweet chili sauce and Flat Iron Steak with grilled vegetables. So far, it tasted incredible! The steak cooked very good in medium cooking process. The seasoning of the steak and the veggies tasted so good, so I literally ate the entrée entirely! Very delish meal! The crispy spring rolls is alright for me although the sweet chili sauce did enhanced the spring rolls perfectly. It’s a close, good appetizing meal. There’s a good amount of parking available that surrounds the Stones Gambling Hall. You can park closer on the back side(which I recommend) where Sammy’s is, so you can enter it easier. In the end, Sammy’s Restaurant and Bar is the coolest restaurant I’ve ever been! I’ll defiantly come back for more! Perfect for friends and family gathering, hanging out during the happy hour, and so forth. Highly recommend!

5 stars to the duck tacos, 2 for the rest of the dishes and that is where my 3 stars came from. My friend always raves about the food here, and I just figured out that it was just for the duck tacos. It is a restaurant directly in the back of the Stone’s gambling card hall. I don’t gamble, I strictly came for the food. Apparently this place is owned by Uriah Favor? I was just told by my boyfriend. The food prices were on the fancy and expensive side. There is also a full bar right in the middle. The kitchen is an open kitchen where you get to watch the cooks do their thing. My friend and I were sat by a waitress, she was nice and attending the entire time as well as being informative. I tried their only cider beer in a bottle, and it was flat as well as being a bit too sour for me, I couldn’t finish it. Duck tacos– AWESOME! very crispy shells and the duck meat was cooked to just the right tenderness. Flavor was amazing. Lobster Mac n Cheese. $ 10. Velveeta cheese. A few bites of lobster. Very runny cheese, maybe a 12 oz portion. NOTGOOD. Italian sausage and pepperoni pizza– it was okay. Crust was not crispy. It was a mediocre pizza. sweet Asian wings-tasted like it was oyster sauce mixed with soy sauce and honey. Wings were very crispy, the sauce was smothered all over the wings. So if you are a wet wing lover you will definitely not be jipped of the sauce. All this was about $ 80. I would only come back to Sammy’s for their duck tacos.

It was a last minute thought to stop in at Stone’s Gambling Hall and check out Sammy’s. The focus here is definitely on gambling and not on the bar(not a bad thing). It seems that the restaurant and bar are in service to support the gambling folk and not geared on bringing in party drinkers. So, if you’re looking for a non-rowdy and not-so-loud bite and drink, this would be a good choice. I found the bar area a bit cold and cafeteria — not cozy but was comfortable. The 4-top table seating seemed cafeteria but the booths more inviting(opt for a booth). We sat at the bar which was not very busy. Service was quick for our two beers(a red ale and a pilsner). We(I) decided I was still hungry after our last stop and wanted to try their pizza. (my pizza place reviews indicate my quest for the pizza style I like. thin, not loaded, simple, and tasty) We ordered the Arugula and Pear pizza — a 12 inch flat thin style pizza. More than enough for the two of us after a couple apps elsewhere. The pizza was just right; thin, slightly crisp, not loaded with any sauce, and easy on the cheese. The dressed arugula was presented salad-style piled at the center of the pizza. The flavor profiles were subtle and just right. Yes, this was a good pizza. This would be a good place to meet up with friends for a bite and beverage that doesn’t seem to get too crowded and definitely not crazy. I recommend stopping in even if you aren’t a gambler, Sammy’s is worth a check-in or two.

So I definitely would not recommend this place based on our group’s experience last night. Service: The service was so weird. Our waitress was not very attentive, and just acted strange. like she was living in her own world or something. We sat with empty drinks(water and alcohol) for the majority of dinner. She was not helpful in order. She seemed annoyed when we asked for separate checks. Several of us had leftover food that we wanted to take to go. She wrapped up our pizza in tin foil(which maybe I do at home, but seems awfully ghetto for a nice restaurant). She wrapped up my friend’s duck tacos and never brought them back to us… she was in general just unfriendly and not welcoming or helpful. Drinks: Mediocre at best. Our table had a wide assortment– manhatten, cosmos, mojitos, martinis. All of us agreed that our drinks were just bland. I got the Mexican gin martini which is spicy and has cucumber. you could smell the spice, but it literally just tasted like nothing… all of us were disappointed in all of our drinks. Food: The food was decent. We had a burger, the lamb, duck tacos, chicken lettuce wraps, and the pear and prosciutto pizza. The burger was standard. The lamb was good, but the cumin was overpowering. Duck tacos were good but cold. Lettuce wraps were standard(however waitress seemed confused and annoyed when we asked for more lettuce leaves). The pizza was good, however it would have been better if the pears were cooked or cut up or the meat was cut up… it wasn’t the easiest to eat. Price: For the level of service and the quality of food, there are so many places I’d rather go. I did not think it was worth it whatsoever. Sexism?: We were there during the restaurants Chinese New Year celebration. The manager(I assume?) came around and gave out these little gifts to everyone, and inside was a poker chip to the casino. Cute idea. Until we realized that all the women got $ 5 chips, and then men all got $ 25 chips… it could have been an accident, but it seemed pretty blatant to me. Which was annoying, seeing as I was the ONLY one who wanted to gamble. And all of the men just immediately wanted to cash in their chips and not play at all. Plan = backfired. All in all, not impressed. at all. I would definitely not return.

One thing you need to remember… And one thing only for you late peeps– this place serves 24 – 7. Forget about Denny’s or ihop or some crappy restaurant. Come here and get a quality meal any time. That said I have been here several times and ordered several types of dishes. My favorite dish are the sliders. Simple but delicious. I usually get fruit as a side but you can also get fries and other stuff. A really, really great dish is the kung pao chicken. Great dish that has a side of white rice and a good portion of the main entrée. It might even be enough to feed 2. If you don’t play cards, don’t be intimidated to stop by. There are a ton of booths and it is an extremely comfortable atmosphere. The menu is large enough to find a dish for everyone. And if you play cards, great… You get a discount. But the prices are fair considering you are getting a good, quality meal and not some meal from Denny’s. Glad it is here… And looking forward to many more dining experiences here.

My husband and I walked into the restaurant really liked the design, atmosphere. Especially their comfortable booth seats! :) Our waiter Z was absolutely helpful, friendly and always there when we needed him! His service was spot on amazing! Thank you Z! It was our first time being at Sammy’s Restaurant. So I trusted previous Unilocalers reviewers and ordered what they recommended. We start off with tapas. –Mini Duck Tacos which the only thing I could taste is the topping on it(feta cheese) and the bottom part lots of sour cream. I could not taste the flavor of duck and that is not good! –Calamari my husband ordered and I tried some are covered in salty sauce that we could barely taste of calamari. All we tasted is teriyaki kind of sauce on it. Main Course. –5 Cheese Pizza it tasted more like BRIECHEESEPIZZA then 5 Cheese Pizza. Super salty. We could not finish eating it :( –New York Pizza which we like the most with lots of meat and great flavor. Desserts we shared: –Messy Sundae, I watched it how they’ve made in open kitchen. They took out pre frozen vanilla ice in wine glass and covered it with plastic wrap. After the lady took the plastic wrap out, she just added tons of caramel, chocolate sauce on top with hazelnuts and whipped cream. The ice cream was still super hard and it was hard to eat it. I think you can make it better at home. –Mini Donuts tasted like the dough was not very fresh even thought it looked pretty good. The only thing we would come back here for is New York pizza and drinks. The rest of the food I’ve mentioned I do not recommend anyone and will not be ordering it again.

Sammy is THE man! He alone has raised the bar for the future YEE to come. Lots of wood with accents of stainless steel and tile. With a casual vibe, the décor is upscale modern day western that continues into the card room. Being a new construction, this place feels fresh and welcoming. Salads, Tapas, Tacos, Mini Burgers, Wraps, Pizzas, Soups, Pastas and Desserts! With both American and Asian Fusion influences, the menu covers many palettes with options for everyone. Hotrock 5⁄5 — A 750 degree stone on a bed of rock salt. A platter of raw beef steak in Sammy’s version of a teriyaki marinade, is served with a wonderful dipping sauce and pickled Japanese cucumbers. This was simply wonderful and you can only get it here at Sammy’s. I would order this every time. Crab and Rock Shrimp Dip 4⁄5 — Made with artichoke, Romano cheese and served with grilled herb flatbread. This was a hearty appetizer. Just keep in mind that it can fill you up. The texture will confuse you at first bite. This is because of the Rock Shrimp. Rock Shrimp costs more than Bay Shrimp and is larger than Bay Shrimp. Think of them as prawns. Oak Roasted Salmon Filet 4⁄5 — Served on Asian salad that consists of edamame, cucumber and ponzu sauce. The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy edges. The salad was fresh and the sauce added a light citrus flavor. Steak and Frites 4⁄5 — Lightly seasoned and grilled New York strip steak served with herb frites(fries). I substituted the fries for Asparagus. The steak was grilled perfectly medium with warm pink center. The asparagus was slivered and stir-fried with black bean sauce. This was wonderful with just the right amount of or flavor. The Asian influence of the black bean sauce complimented the seasoned steak perfectly. Mini Duck Tacos 5⁄5 — Crispy shelled duck breast with feta cheese, tomato, napa cabbage with a tomato-cilantro sauce. These were simply wonderful. The duck breast was generous and the mini corn shelled tortillas were crispy. I would order these every time. Lobster Mac & Cheese 2⁄5 — Made with Tillamook cheddar cheese. This got better as it cooled down a bit. It was piping hot when it arrived and the cheese seemed more liquid that creamy. Bits of lobster were visible, but lacked flavor. But like I said, it got better as it cooled. I would explore other options on the menu. Cioppino 4⁄5 — This classic seafood dish packs a ton of seafood. The broth is familiar but has a creamier taste and consistency. It is still good, but I like the traditional seafood stew. Warm Crispy Mini Donuts 5⁄5 — Served with Raspberry and Chocolate sauce. Better eat these fast, while they are warm. If you wait too long, you lose the crispiness. I would order these again… and again. Remember, this place just opened up this month. Being open for such a short period of time and having stellar reviews is very rare. Sammy has put his heart into this place and it greatly shows. I hope the card room does as well and the restaurant will do. Simply Wonderful!!!

I’m so glad that Sammy’s is here! It’s a perfect addition to a neighborhood that needed a little sprucing up with more restaurant and food choices. So here it is, and guess what? It’s really good! I had the opportunity to come to Sammy’s for a Unilocal Event and had the best time! It has a huge wraparound bar with TV’s which I loved and plenty of tables and comfy booths. Our server Chelsea was fantastic! She offered up many helpful suggestions and was very patient and attentive with us. She also was very knowledgable about the menu and was able to answer all questions. For Vegetarians and Vegans, the menu offers up many different selections which is a nice breath of fresh air compared to the one or two options we are used to. Yay! I was able to try the Vegetable Fried Rice, Mushroom Pizza, Baba Ghanoush, Mediterranean Dip Sampler and Walnut and Fig Salad. My favorites were definitely the Baba Ghanoush and the Mushroom Pizza. So crispy and flaky was the crust on the pizza and the Baba Ghanoush had SO much flavor! The only thing I didn’t like was the Vegan Margherita Pizza because it was dry and the crust was like bread, not crispy at all. For the meat eaters at the table, the Coconut Shrimp appetizer got high marks and was quickly eaten up as well as the Pork Pot Stickers and the Hot Stone. The definite favorite of the evening was with no doubt the Lamb Shank. Everyone at the table couldn’t stop raving about it and it don’t last more than a few minutes before it was gone. For dessert we ordered the Messy Sundae and the Mini Donuts which our server Chelsea let us know were roasted, not fried. How cool! I definitely loved the donuts(but when don’t I?) and the chocolate and strawberry sauces they came with. The sundae was good too, just not as good as it looked. I would definitely come back to eat and drink at Sammy’s again… Hopefully soon! What a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

This hidden gem is tucked away in a brand freaking new casino right off of Highway 80 and Antelope Road. Parking is a little tricky there is Valet for $ 5 at the front of Stones Casino, a small parking garage off to the right and lots of parking in the back where Sammy’s connects to Stones. Do not try to park in the shopping center across the way all the spots are clearly labeled«No Casino Parking». Inside Stones/Sammy’s it s freaking gorgeous who would have thought you could find a place this nice in Antelope! Stones Casino has lots of different table games but no slots and the casino itself is surprisingly large. Sammy’s has plenty of space, a full service bar and a large banquet room. All the staff and servers were very friendly and eager to provide excellent service. We tried several appetizers with the Coconut Shrimp being some of the best we have ever tasted. We also found the Waygu Beef Cheese Burger to be scumptious and very reasonable at $ 15. The Messy Sundae was also a fun show stopper. The sundae is huge and served with the glass swimming in a pool of hot fudge and candied pecans. This is enough for two people and should be ordered just for the fun of seeing the look on other peoples faces when they bring it to your table. We will be coming back to check out more of the menu and maybe some gaming tables. I highly recommend checking Sammy’s/Stones out for food, drinks and fun.
