Rocky’s Salon

I just wanted a haircut, and they start entering my information into their computer. I told her my name was Andrew Jackson and showed her my $ 20 dollar bill. Still wanted me in the data base, so I left. My regular place was closed, I’ll just go there in a few days.

After seeing all the positive reviews on here, I decided I would take my girls here for their very first hair cut. Bad Mommy. It was a horrible experience. We showed up and were greeted very nicely by both gentleman in the shop. My girls were terrified as they’ve never had a haircut. As a hair fanatic, I didn’t want to take them to the typical toddler place for a hair cut I wouldn’t like. I knew exactly what I wanted, a v-​cut. I told him what I wanted and he said, «Do you want bangs?» I said, no thank you. He then spent 5 minutes arguing with me about why every little girl needs bangs!!! He even pointed at them and said, «Look at them, they can’t even see!» Sorry buddy, I usually pull their hair back and I don’t want bangs. Period. He also told me he couldn’t do a v-​cut because «they aren’t 20! little girls only get one hair cut and thats straight across!» I really wanted to grab the girls and leave but they were so anxious about that first cut that I didn’t want to do anything that would cause them more anxiety. So i consented to the trim. My girls had their hair in braids overnight and it was super frizzy. He ddin’t even wet their hair. Heck, he cut them standing up! (that’s not that big of a deal to me but it was just the icing on the cake of a horrible first experience). I asked him to reserve the first cut for me. That didn’t happen either. I had to pick it up off the floor… But you know what bothers me most? When I got them home, I immediately put them in the bath so that I could wash and blowdry their hair and pretty them up (you know the way you expect to leave a salon?). It was crooked! It was crooked because he never bothered to part their hair. He never bothered to wet it and make sure it was even before he cut. With two girls I was in and out in 25 minutes. So, yeah, to say that I was disappointed is an understatement. If you want someone who will give you EXPERT advice on how you should or shouldn’t cut your kids hair– go there. If not, avoid! I’ll NEVER be going back. EVER. EVER.

Alex, has been a great barber and I think the only think that is confusing for men it says «SALON» Rather than Barber Shop! Alex knows how to cut hair and is very close to where I live. I must have drove by his location for years assuming it was a women’s salon.. Da, Da, Da!

I’ve been coming to Rocky for about two years now. I never knew what to do with my hair, so I met with him, he asked me what I wanted and I said «Make me pretty.» Keep in mind I am a 27 year old male. Well, Rocky did just that. I now live about 40 min away but still take the trip out there every two weeks not just because he gives amazing hair cuts (I have been cut by other staff there and they are very talented as well), but the atmosphere has always been warm and inviting.

My whole family has been going to him for years as he always does an amazing job every time. Straight hair, curly hair, latest style, he can do it. Very reasonable and you will be happy with your new hair cut.

Took my son here for a haircut. He is 17 and very into his hair. We usually have to find a salon rather than a barber and that tends to lean towards the girly side. We’ve tried The Head Game and Rooster’s, but they are pricey. My son LOVED Rocky. He knows his stuff when it comes to men’s hair, and hair in general. It was the perfect atmosphere for guys who want salon level service without the pastels and flowers.

Rocky did a great job my first time in. Nailed my cut with little explaining on my end, and I am very partial of my hair cut. Will def be back.

I’ve come here for a year now and I’ve been super pleased with the service, the quality of my hair cut, and the time spent on my hair. They seem to take an almost artist-​like pleasure in how my hair turns out which is awesome! Every time I come home from this place my wife loves the new cut.

My fiancé and son were in need of a haircut on a Sunday afternoon. Rocky took us even though it was very close or maybe even after closing time. Rocky was friendly and welcoming and did a good job on their cuts. I plan on going to him for my next cut since he seems to know what he’s talking about when it comes to hair.

Walked in today because it’s close and I’m not picky about my hair cuts. I was immediately greeted and signed in. The guy who cut my hair did great work. He was chatty in a good way and made in very comfortable. I’ll be going back

Alex cuts hair very well an I have no complaints.
I do recommend him and for you to make an appointment ahead of time.

OK, here’s what I know as a former hair stylist (many, MANY years ago). You can’t judge any salon by the work of one stylist. Each stylist has their talents; or lack thereof. Being a former hair stylist, I am very particular about who I let cut my hair. Rocky (AKA Alex) is the best I have found in years. I tracked him down from the shop he used to be with in Roseville so I could get a good haircut, and once again, he didn’t disappoint. Oh, and one more thing — if you can get this kind of professional work done for the prices he charges — you should RUN to make an appointment!

I wanted to give this «new» place a shot and it was the worst mistake ever.
I walked in and was greeted by an older lady. I told her I wanted a bald fade and asked if she knew how to properly blend and she stated with no hesitation that she did. I sat down and she completely had no idea what she was doing. My hair was un-​even, lop sided and a complete mess. She had to get the owner to actually fix my hair in which he did try his best to fix all that she ruined. The lady seemed very embarrassed. I’m not here to bash on the place because I want small businesses to succeed, but if you are of color like myself, I would NOT recommend this place. And by all means, AVOID the old lady working there. If Rocky (the owner) is preoccupied, its best to just wait. I won’t be going back.

I saw the salon on my way to work. Stopped in this morning, my hairstylist was super and felt really comfortable there. They are having a sale 3.99 for a haircut (reg. $ 15)Wow!!! I was in and out quickly. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone for a haircut.

Best place at the best price. Alex was super laid back, fun to talk to, and did a perfect job. I highly recommend Rocky’s to anyone.
