Came for lunch with a party of 7. Food was ok, but waitress was non existent. When we asked for our bill, she told us we will have to wait. We waited to get her to even come around. Did not have a good experience and it was our first visit. Will not be coming back

I had the unlimited soup and salad bar combo today. Salad in the salad bar is very fresh, and the cornbread is hot and delicious. The soup, however, was lacking. It seemed canned and was barely warm despite me coming at the peak of lunch. For $ 11 for soup and salad, I want the soup to be homemade and piping hot.

So disappointed in this Marie Calendar’s. Everything inside needs to be updated. I have sat in a booth in the bar three times and there were dead flies and spiderwebs present. I worked in a restaurant many years ago and we had to make sure that all of our sections were clean before we left for the night. Maybe they need a new GM. The only good thing about the restaurant is their salad bar, but if I am going to pay $ 13-$ 15 for a salad bar, please make sure the restaurant is clean. My sister and I met for lunch at MC last week. I am pregnant and asked to sit closer to the salad bar for convenience. The hostess rolled her eyes and said I just double sat a section. I consented to sitting in the bar once again. My sister and I walked around the restaurant and noticed that There were only 7 tables full in the entire restaurant with 3 – 4 servers on staff. Hmm, makes me think that either people are lazy or the restaurant needs to do better training. I have been to other Marie Calendar restaurants that had better service and were actually clean. I hope corporate sees this and does something about it.

We had lunch here on May 6th, 2016 as an early Mothers Day and after dealing with the General Manager — Randy Sims, we will never return! Randy Sims was asked to help redo our bill when we forgot to use our 20%(reusable hard card) coupon. Randy was the most lazy, abrasive, rude and unprofessional GM I have ever dealt with. He just threw his arms up and yelled«it’s already done, nothing I can do!» I find it hard to believe nothing could be done. Even a 20% credit on a gift card to make it right would have been fine with us. He flat out refused to help or even listen to us as we tried to come up with any solution. Randy just turned his back to us and walked away. I will not(nor will the other 4 in our party) ever return to this restaurant and I strongly caution anyone who reads this to make sure you have any coupons ready before paying and make sure they don’t overcharge since according to Randy Sims there is nothing he can do.period. I’m sure he scams senior citizens daily playing the«nothing I can do» game when they forget their coupon, but this should not happen. Find a better restaurant with a manager and staff who care about serving you and avoid this Marie Calender’s! Update 5÷14÷16: After emailing the corporate office regarding our visit on May 6, 2016 less than 24 hours I got a personal phone call from Jim Nelson from the Marie Calender’s corporate office who couldn’t have been more sorry and nicer about the entire issue we had with Randy Sims on May 6th, 2016. Jim made it right(and then some) and corrected the issue Randy Sims refused to even consider. Jim also told me he would be in the Citrus Heights location next week to address it personally(coming in from out of state). His phone call was much appreciated and showed they are determined to ensure their customers are always happy and the failure of one GM is not the failure of their entire business! Thank you for making it right, Jim!

We were excited when we saw a Marie Callender’s nearby because I remember the great salad bar we had in Elk Grove(before they closed down). However, this place doesn’t look like it’s been remodeled before. The décor looks extremely dated. We both opted for the soup and salad bar. Lots of vegetables, 3 soup options, lots of dressing choices and even chicken, turkey and bacon. The waitress was friendly and helpful. However, this place just looked and felt… dirty. The salad leaves didn’t look fresh; everything looked wilted. Soups didn’t look appetizing. We ate everything very sparingly because we didn’t know how fresh the food was. For the price, it was ok, but for the money, we’d much rather go to a Sweet Tomatoes or Fresh Choice like we do in the Bay Area(not sure why there aren’t any more in Sac?). Maybe we’ll come back if they remodel it and clean it up, but for now, we won’t be returning.

Two stars for this one subject only. If not for this issue, it’d be four stars at least. We love this location and have been going for years. Unfortunately since they started Sunday Brunch they don’t serve from the regular menu during that time. We don’t want brunch(and the brunch prices.) We want our favorites from the regular menu, but now we can’t go on Sunday for either breakfast or lunch because they only offer the one choice — their brunch menu. I wish they would let us regular menu people have a choice.

My husband was craving their«Frisco burger», which he claims to be one of the best burgers ever, so we came in for dinner. We had our newborn with us and I was a little anxious about crying and disturbing other patrons, but luckily baby was relaxed for the most part. Service was quick and attentive and the food tasted hot and fresh. But beyond that, the manager saw us and took pity on two weary, sleep deprived new parents and gave us a free whole chocolate cream pie to take home and enjoy once baby fell asleep. Thank you, Marie Callendars, that was so thoughtful and very much appreciated! :)

Popped into Marie Callender’s for breakfast with my Son, I don’t come here often, but when I do it is always a positive experience. Our food was delicious and appealing, but most of all our server Taylor was amazing, friendly and professional!!! She made an ordinary visit, special and fun!! Will return soon!!!

I had the Southwestern Feast off the new menu tonight and it was off the charts fantastic. It had a beef taco, 2 chicken enchiladas, shrimp on rice and i exchanged the beans for coleslaw. It was so delicious I had to come home and log on to the computer to Unilocal.I loved the corn tortillas the taco and enchiladas was made from. I would give this meal 10 stars if Unilocal had that many.

The food was so terrible. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was disgusting. My seven-year-old son would not even eat his eggs or sausage. We were starving when we came to the restaurant and left so disappointed and hungry. I told the manager that we did not like our meal but he didn’t seem to care!!! The manager was rude and didnt apologize. The only thing that was good, was our waitress. I still left a good tip because I felt bad for our waitress it’s not her fault that the food was terrible. I will never go back to that restaurant! No wonder why it was empty when we got there. This place will go out of business before you know it.

Dirty food splatter and dust throughout! My boyfriend and I ate here about 4 months ago. The food was great but the place was dirty. Instead of doing a review on Unilocal,I filled out their survey to bring the dirty booths to their attention. The manager even called me back. Tonight we went in again because the manager assured me it would be taken care of. LIAR! Same filthy dust on the ledge and on the top of the light fixture. Food splatter on the wall. Begs the question, What does the back of the house look like if their standards are so low for the front of the house. NOT going back! NOT ever!

Nice menu with a fairly diverse selection of food options. I was craving some comfort food and chose the beef stroganoff. The pasta was perfect and the sauce, nice and creamy. The beef was a little tough and overall, the dish lacked seasoning. The portion size was large… enough for two meals atleast! I don’t think I would order this again. The banana cream pie? Excellent! The service was excellent with my server being very prompt, professional, pleasant and she checked on me periodically without being intrusive.

I waited in line for a hour to pick up a pie I pre-paid for. The restaurant seemed very unorganized in dealing with the holiday crowd. Despite the wait, the pumpkin pie was tasty.

Beef Stroganoff and chicken pot pie is pretty good here! I would give a four stars but I don’t eat at American restaurant that often! Used to love their banana pie but lately I don’t like pie that much anymore so haven’t had it for a while ! I don’t know if it still good like it was before.

Marie Callender’s. Stopped in while visiting the area; had brunch. Very pricey for brunch but had some decent selection. I wouldn’t recommend it nor do I feel the need to return but I wouldn’t necessarily say it was bad. The area in general doesn’t seem very spectacular so I’m not holding out for any«great food.» This being said if I’m comparing it to a real restaurant, this is just garbage. For a run of the mill fast food feeling to a buffet in a run of the mill town… It’s still just ok and I’d never choose to go.

Wow. I instantly regretted bringing my kids here once the food arrived. My BBQ sandwich made me instantly nauseous. My kids received Kraft Mac n cheese which looked like it was reheated. My wife got the ribs and they were so over cooked that the bones were dark gray. I would not recommend this to anyone. Marie Calendars is known for their desserts, if you survive dinner those might be good. I wouldn’t know because we couldn’t stomach any more… I can only imagine how high my bill will be for this over-cooked, under impressive food.

Huge Menu and lots of great deals. There is a $ 6, $ 8, $ 9 menu. For $ 1.99 more you can get a piece of pie. The only thing I don’t like about this menu is it doesn’t have the calorie count. With all of the calorie counts on the menu I ended going with the healthy stuff. It’s a tough call. I wanted the two shrimp pasta. It looked delicious, but for 1610 calories I couldn’t do it so I got the salmon with steamed broccoli. I was happily surprised that they can cook salmon and it wasn’t fishy or over cooked or soggy. It was perfectly seasoned and flaky. And only 570 calories. The said thing was it doesn’t include pie. And why else do you come here? The cornbread is much different then what I grew up with. I remember the pieces they served were much higher and bigger. They used to come with honey too. I miss the old cornbread, but this is just as good as I really don’t need it in my body. We came here on a Friday night and were very happy that it wasn’t busy. We had a play to get to in Folsom. They asked us where we wanted to sit and we got a table for 5 in the bar just in case we wanted to order happy hour appetizers. Service was good and they were quick to refill our drinks. Next time I’m out this way I’d happily stop by. They also have lots of handicapped parking which is good as that’s the crowd. The regular lot is out back, a little bit of a walk, but not bad.

This review is being written in their bathroom between abdominal spasms. We ordered their pot roast dish and the ribs with shrimp. Each entrée was 16.99. Honestly, I could have gone off to the grocery store, bought equivalent frozen entrees and had a better meal than this. Pot roast was overcooked/microwaved and the flavor was indistinct. Mashed potatoes and gravy appeared to be of the instant variety. St. Louis style ribs were small, drenched with an overly sticky sauce, and seemed microwaved. The fried shrimp tasted like it was frozen and not fresh. Their«baked» potato was nothing more than a tiny mound of instant mashed potatoes with cheese melted on it with a sprinkle of chives and bacon bits. Needless to say, the food was AWFUL. The service was poor as well. The server passed our table about 4 times with my empty soda glass at the edge of the table. I never got a refill. Oh, but when it came to presenting the check and collecting the payment, our server was right on top of that. Why this place is still in business is a wonder to me. UPDATE: As this review was being written, my girlfriend was speaking with the restaurant manager and letting her know that our experience was horrible. All she could say was that«they don’t do things like that here.» News flash for the manager; if you’re being told about a poor dining experience, it DID happen. My girlfriend felt as though she had gotten the biggest brush-off. What’s worse was the manager NEVER attempted to retain our business nor acknowledge that we may have had a bad dining experience. We truly felt ripped-off by this so-called restaurant. Just plain horrible!

This update regards today’s Take-Out and the pie for Thanksgiving. ME: Pot Pie Trio: Chicken Pot Pie, Salad, and Chocolate Pie. HER: Vegetable Soup and Cornbread. Ordered«No Sugar Added Apple Pie» for Thanksgiving. 10 minutes max and back in the truck driving home. Pot Pie was excellent. Salad was Ceasar and was a salad. I gave away the pie to my wife(I just don’t do pie … even at Thanksgiving). So, despite my previous review of complete disappointment in the dirty salad bar, I returned for Take Out and was pleased.
