My mom and I have been patients of Dr. Earharts for years and followed him out to Citrus Heights. My mom called to make an appt. and was told his last day was 1-30-2016. They weren’t able to tell her where he went so if anyone knows please leave a message. When your dealing with your sight you definitely want a doctor you can trust. Although I’ve never had problems with the staff before I just think if you want to follow your doctor you’ve been with and trust that they should give you the information. So until then I will find a doctor for my mom closer to her home.

**** UPDATE **** Shortly after my review was posted, I was contacted by the very professional office manager regarding my post. She was very sympathetic to my complaints and definitely made my concerns feel like a priority to her and their office. She reassured me that my next experience at their office would be different. She kindly offered me her name and number so I could check in with her again for any concerns.

This was my first time to the office. I chose this office because it was close to my primary dr. The staff was awesome and very friendly. I would recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Randall Fuerst is the BEST!!! My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Randy for well over 10 years. You know he’ll be there every year for you for your yearly exam, but more important you know he’ll be there for you when you have something more serious going on. When my husband developed an infection that could have caused him to loose his site, Dr. Randy was there. Dr. Randy saw him every other day to monitor the progress and make sure the infection wasn’t getting worse but better. Finally after a couple months of treatment the infection was gone and my husbands site was saved. Also Dr. Randy is up on the latest technology in eye care. If there’s something out there that can help your vision he knows about it. Besides being a great doctor he’s a great person. He is always glad to see you. He remembers what was going on with you the last time you were there. And you can tell he really wants to help. As you can tell I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Randy. The front desk and optical staff complete the whole package. The front desk always greet you as soon as you walk in and make you feel welcome. The optical staff has been a huge help to me each year when I’m picking out new eye glasses. They don’t sugar coat anything, they let you know what looks good on you and what doesn’t by your face shape and coloring. Which is a huge help when you can’t see anything unless you get your face two inches from the mirror, like me. So all in all EyeCenter Optometric is the place to go and Dr. Randall Fuerst is the guy to see.

Overall: 3.5 — I would recommend, my child and I are regulars(annual check-ups). I haven’t had anything go wrong in the past 2 years that have led me to change offices so that’s a good thing! Appointment availability: 4(I like that they are open on Saturdays, early morning. It makes getting in and out and on with the rest of my day a breeze!) Front Desk Service: 3.5 Doctor Service: 4 Experience: 3.5(LOTS of moving from station to station for testing… I suppose this makes your results very thorough. I just wish I didn’t have to move from room to room to room) I wish the front desk was a bit more informative: I opted not to be «fitted» for contacts(an extra charge) since I was already fitted previously. Unbeknownst to me it is state law to receive a contact fitting every year if you are renewing your contact prescription, which is different than a glasses prescription. I have worn contacts and glasses for over 20 years and I never knew that, but I would think the optometrist front desk receptionist would know to tell me that. Instead I go a nice surprise when I went to pay my bill and saw the extra charges. When I asked the salesperson about it she explained to me that I couldn’t renew my contact prescription w/out getting a fitting… Guess my eyeballs get bigger every year!

We took our daughter here for a developmental eye exam nearly twenty years ago(Dr. Randy Fuerst does some additional special diagnostics that not all eye doctors provide or are experienced in, and which can be very helpful for kids) and I have been going there ever since. They do a great job start to finish, are great to work with, and I’ve recommended them to many people over the years. Can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I had my annual eye exam the other day. I’ve been coming here for about 5 years now. The lady who did all the initial testing was very nice and informative. Dr. Earhart was great as always. I picked out a cute pair of Kate Spade glasses and sunglasses. Can’t wait to get them in!

Dr. Matt Earhart is the best ! I have been a patient of Dr. Earhart for over 5 years. I initially was seeing him at his previous office, and when his office moved to the Citrus Heights/Rocklin area, I had no problem driving the extra 30 minutes each way to see him for my eye appointments. He has been my primary eye doctor and he is comprehensive, knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. He embodies the humankindness aspect that all healthcare providers should ideally have. I have post-lasik eyes and now have to wear contact lenses and Dr. Earhart is the only one that has been able to help me with my hybrid Synergeyes contact lenses. I wouldn’t go to anybody else. Front office staff are always nice, and I appreciate their saturday business hours. Cassandra in the optical department has gone over and beyond in helping me with my Synergeyes lenses. I recommend my spouse, family members, friends all to see Dr. Earhart. He truly is one of a kind. I couldn’t have asked for a better eye doctor and staff.

I have been going to Eye Center optometric for roughly 4 – 5 years. About two years ago, I ran into my first problem which was an inaccurate prescription prescribed to me. I went back to have my eyes re-examined and discovered that it was significantly off(by 7°). During the initial exam the doctor was typing in the new prescription into my profile on his computer. Suddenly another doctor came into the room and asked him whose profile he was currently accessing, my doctor read off another females name, not mine. This meant he was typing in my prescription into another person’s profile and didn’t even realize that the name on the screen didn’t match the person sitting in front of him. I ended up having to have my glasses remade as well as my sunglasses due to the inaccurate prescription originally prescribed. Due to their error, they remade them at no cost to me. When I came back to pick them up and I felt like they were still slightly off, the doctor told me that due to my significant astigmatism this is the best that they could get to 20⁄20. Fast forward to November 2014, I was due for my two year Eye exam. The exam was conducted, I ordered glasses and prescription sunglasses through another company this time, but used the prescription provided to me by Eye Center Optometric’s. Again, I experienced my eyes being unable to adjust to the prescription. I began having headaches and went back to Eye Center optometric to be re-examined. Again they found that the prescription was off. They wrote me a new prescription, I took the new prescription to the company that made my glasses, and luckily they remade them(both regular glasses and sunglasses) again with the new prescription. When those were ready I went and picked those up, wore them for a while, and continued to not be able to see clearly. I went back to Eye Center optometric a third time and had an exam done again. And again, the prescription was off. They wrote me a new prescription. I took it back to the company that made my glasses and this time they refused to remake them again at no cost. I went back to Eye Center optometric and told them that the company was going to charge me to remake the glasses, consequently I asked if Eye Center optometric would cover the cost of remaking the lenses for both pairs of glasses considering the prescription was off multiple times(an error produced on their end). They told me the best that they could do was take 50% off of remaking the lenses, which would still calculate two $ 240. Seeing as I already used up my insurance on the initial pair of glasses, this would be out of my own pocket. The doctor treated me with disrespect when I told him I felt it was his duty and responsibility to make things right considering the prescription was wrong. He stated«well if you want to go somewhere where they get the prescription perfect the first time then maybe you need to take your business elsewhere.». It made me feel completely invaluable and dispensable. Considering I was a client and customer here for so many years, I never would have expected to be treated that way.

I love this place! Dr. Randy took care of my dry eye. I had been to three other eye Drs. and got no relief. The gals at the front desk are very busy, but super kind. I like my glasses too. This was my first time trying the progressive lense. I had them for two weeks before I got the hand of wearing them. Just like they assured me I would. All in all a great visit. They are busy, and I can see why by my experience with them. I will continue to come to the eyecenter.

There were two positive things about my experience here: they got me in on the same day and Courtney was very friendly and helpful. Now to start with the bad… I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. The optometrist, Dr. Lee, was very pushy and dogmatic. I explained that I’ve never had a pair of glasses that didn’t make my eyes or head hurt if I wear them too long or for reading. I’m near-sighted, so I always take my glasses off unless I need them for distance. I told him that I wanted to look into bifocals or progressive lenses that don’t have any correction on the bottom for this reason. He was very pushy and dogmatic, insisting that I wear my glasses constantly, even when reading or on the computer. I tried that before for the last 5 pairs of glasses I’ve had and it’s never worked for me, only given me bad headaches. He ignored my concerns, so I dropped the issue. He then tried to get me to purchase contacts but my insurance will only cover one or the other, so if the contacts didn’t work for me, I’d be out of luck. When it was time to pick out a pair of frames, Michaela either lied to me trying to earn a higher commission or was very unknowledgeable about her job. I looked up my insurance policy earlier that day, and it said my copay for progressive lenses should be $ 40. She insisted that it was $ 90. I even pulled up my account on my phone to show her my breakdown of benefits, and she still insisted on $ 90. Finally, I threatened to take my business elsewhere, and she suddenly realized she got the numbers mixed up. Overall, I was at the office for over 2 hours, from checking in to paying my bill. Way too long of an ordeal. They told me my frames would be ready for pick-up in 7 – 10 business days. 10 business days later, I still had not heard from them so I called. The first day, the woman who answered told me it was an issue with my insurance company and that she would have someone call me back. That made no sense because I already paid in full and I saw the insurance authorization. 24 hours later, no one called me back so I called again. This time, the woman who answered told me she would check into the issue and that they were running a bit behind. She reassured me that they would call me soon. Two days later, I finally got a call saying my glasses were ready for pick-up. I’m happy with them, but they still give me a headache if I wear them too long. I thought I was forever done with this office, but that would’ve been too good to be true. A few days ago, I got a text and email from them reminding me of my next appointment. I didn’t have any other appointment scheduled! I called and cleared that up. Then just now, I got a call saying my glasses are ready for pick-up. Apparently, they ordered 2 sets of my glasses. It seems that nearly all of the staff are careless about their jobs. This entire experience was terrible and I would never recommend them.

I have been a patient at EYEcenter for the past couple years. My work has me back and forth between Sacramento and Seattle and the only physician I have retained in this area is my eye doctor.(Primary Care, women’s doc, dentist are all in Seattle now). I only schedule my eye appointments here at EYEcenter. I have referred many of my friends and family to Dr. Fuerst at the Citrus Heights office. He is incredibly knowledgable and takes the extra time to explain things to me about my eye health and ways to help best maintain it. He sometimes gets behind schedule– seemingly because he spends maybe too much time working with each of his patients because he truly cares about giving ample care to each. If you want to have an amazing experience being frame styled ask for Terri. They have brands I like such as Valentino and Chloe, which I thought I would only find at Nordstrom. I now buy my sunglasses here as well because the offer great deals if you buy 2 pairs.

Been seeing these guys for at least 20 years, maybe more. I’ve always been treated well here. Dr. Randy is like an old friend. They have a really good selection of eyeglass frames(although they are a little pricey) and their optometrists are well versed in what insurance pays for and what it doesn’t pay for. If I need a quick adjustment or repair, they always take excellent care of me.

I have been going here for many years & see Dr. Randy Fuerst – he’s an excellent doctor & takes his time – never rushes through the appointment – his goal is to give you the best possible vision with contacts & glasses. I have complete confidence in Dr. Randy. Regarding the reception staff, they’ve always been friendly & greet me by name when I walk in prior to my identifying myself.

While the eye doctor is fine, my problem is with the people selling the glasses. So I pick up my new glasses and they look and feel great. Spend the next day playing golf and I notice they are not getting dark. I call a nice woman at Eye center to let her know the transition lenses are not working. She tries to tell me that I didn’t order transitions. I tell her to please check her paperwork again. She comes back on and says they made an error and ordered the glasses without transitions style lenses. Cool, no problem, they will order up another set. I understand it’s a mistake, no biggie. 2 weeks go by and they call me to come in and get my new lenses. My GF goes out(I’m working), and they put the new lenses in my frames. GF just happens to ask them to test the transitions to make sure it works before she leaves. They test it and they DON’T WORKAGAIN. These new lenses are not transitions either! So now we get to wait another week while they make another set! Once is an honest mistake. Twice is total incompetence. I’ve always had good service here in the past, so maybe it’s a HR issue?
