This is WHY they are now closed. The Russians have decimated the sturgeon of the Caspian Sea into extinction, and NOW they have set their sights on the sturgeon of North America. Hopefully the pastries were not subsidized at the expense of the ILLEGALTAKING of sturgeon for their caviar(aka Poaching)!! . This is not just limited to sturgeon either. Shad are bait fish for entire ecosystems,…when they become extinct, the salmon & steelhead will be next and the dominos will start to fall.

Came in for russian areshki hoping that they have some fresh once. They did not have any. The cheese I bought was kind of not fresh. The selection is not impressive. Most things are not marked we’ll with prices.

Russian. Located in a shopping plaza with Safeway on Greenback and San Juan. Outside it’s Bön Appetit Deli & Café. Deli & Catering. And so to me. You say Deli and I want a sandwich. They don’t make sandwiches here. You can buy stuff for you to make one. They had a whole case of meats and sausages, fresh bread. Another case with hot food.(They’re happy to give you samples). They have desserts. And the rest– market. A great place to try. Staff is nice and helpful as can be.

I live in Elk Grove but once a while I come to this place for authentic Russian treats such as cakes, baloney, sausages etc. I love the cake over here since it’s not way too sweet like else where, also the sausage, baloney, ham are not over salt, the taste is excellent, fresh, especially great with sandwich. Beside all these, I spot lots of variety treats and drinks which I never tried before. I recommend asking for the sample, the young lady that taking care of me is very nice and helpful. I went there many times before but I got another old lady or gentleman help me but I don’t quit understand their English(my English is not perfect as well) I would highly recommend the white cake, not sure what’s the name since my last trip I didn’t see it there(probably called Napoleon or something? it’s has many layers, with white color cream, inside and out) that’s the best cake I ever had in US. Beside that, they have an interesting Russian food togo and the best thing is everything is super cheap! I got food for nearly 5 people for $ 40 only.
