This was sent to Wing’s Corporate office nearly a week ago and I have yet to get a response. I did mention not to contact me by phone but I’m deeply upset about the fact that someone may not have even read it so that it could at the very least be addressed. Dear Diane, Brad & John; I am not happy to be sending an email like this and I have wrestled with it since my visit to the Glenway office for my mother’ appointment. But, I feel that it is necessary. I am a former employee, I’ve been gone for over 10 years but have came back ever since for my eye care. Unfortunately I will be finding another office and so will my family. Let me start off by saying that the moment we walked in the door Saturday you could feel the change. The office used to be lively and very welcoming, now it is full of tension and long faces. I remember when working there we were told when a patient walks in the door you were expected to stand, smile and greet them as they walked in. This did not happen. As I recall, I did not see one smile on anyone’s face nearly the entire time we were there. Secondly, the appointment my mother set up(over the phone) was not found in your new system. I understand mistakes happen but the way it was handled was not, in my opinion, handled professionally. She was repeatedly told they could not find her, which was done in front of others in the waiting room, and then blame was placed on the fact that they just started on a new system, there’s been a lot of problems but they’ve never had this problem before. After speaking with the office manager she was told that they would do their best to work her in, which they did quickly. She told me before being taken back that she got the feeling from them that she was a bother and felt uncomfortable. After watching interactions with the staff it is very plain and obvious where the tension comes from in the office and felt it earlier in the year when my husband and myself came in for our exams. This visit was much more evident. It seems the office manager rules with an iron fist. This was kind of disturbing and sad considering how the office used to be. It used to be full of laughter, joking and happiness which is what patients used to always comment about and say how refreshing it was. Now there’s no smiles, no laughter and no joking. Earlier in the year the manager had«helped» me with the purchase of a pair of glasses but I got the feeling of being chased down by your typical department store perfume saleswoman. She was all business, not personable at all and a little condescending when I mentioned I had worked there long ago and especially after I declined some of the«extras». After talking with several friends and family, that have also been long time patients there, they all say the same things that I have felt and observed. They, like myself and family, will not be returning. In my current position a small part of what I do on a daily basis is refer patients to other offices for such things as getting their yearly exams. I have referred many of them to various Wing offices, I will not be doing so anymore. I refuse to refer where I myself will not go. With everything that I’ve had to say please let me be clear in saying I love Dr. Leach, always will but I don’t see myself coming back. I’ve already requested my records, my husband will be requesting his this week. Like I said, I wrestled with sending this but if you do not pay attention to the dynamic in your offices and notice the problems maybe it’s best for someone from the outside to tell you. Thank you for your time in reading this and I truly hope that something is done to make your patients feel more welcomed and your staff happier at work.

Worst experience ever! I was supposed to have an appointment at 5:45 and when 6:30 came around and still had not been seen I told the receptionist that I could not wait any longer and rescheduled. When I came back the next week I was thankfully taken right back. However the woman who was doing my initial pressure eye test did not know what she was doing and about ran the machine into my eye. Needless to say they were not able to get the eye puffs completed. Then once seeing the doctor he continued to ask me the same question over and over… I don’t know if he just didn’t believe me or was hoping I would change my answer. I wear contacts but was specifically making the eye appointment to get an eye glass prescription. The doc. Then dropped me off at the contact fitting station where I sat there for almost 30 min with no contact or explanation. Finally a receptionist, I assume, after seeing me wait for what seemed like forever took me back to test my eyes again? She again clearly didn’t know what she was doing and began getting frustrated. I told her that the dr. Had given me the wrong contact prescription but she didn’t listen. I had to ask five times for a prescription for glasses. Was told I would need to come back in a week? Why? I’ve been wearing contacts for 20 years not to mention the same contact brand… Nor was I ordering contacts. I know how to put them in my eyes. And I actually really wanted to purchase glasses but after waiting for over an hour and a half and dealing with incompetent people I was not going to waste my time. I’ve never experienced more people who didn’t know what they were doing in my life. was my first time going to wings eye care and will absolutely be my last!

I want to thank brad haller for reaching out and contacting me about the incident I experienced in their office. He was not only apologetic but was able to talk with me about how it was handled internally. This is greatly appreciated. I feel much better and more comfortable about returning to this office and bringing my children in. Thank you again.

This is one of the worst clinics I have went to for a contact lens exam. They are friendly walking in the door at the front desk, just walk in and fill out the paperwork. The optometrist seemed friendly enough, but rushed through the exam– I do not beleive I recieved the correct prescription. The lady who«fits» the contact exam is very rude, and tries to charge you for services that your insurance actually does cover.(I’m sure they have managed to con plenty of people into forking over extra cash and then collecting the insurance money on top of it). I had spoken with someone from the corporate office prior to my appointment and confirmed what my insurance does and does not cover. My advice is to stay far away from this place, and go someplace more professional.

I have been going to Wing Eyecare(Glenway location) for over a decade now. Dr. Terry Leach is an excellent practitioner and very personable. I appreciate his thoroughness and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment. Great staff too– always friendly, helpful, and professional. This location has evening hours on Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday appointments which is perfect for my work schedule.

Maybe it’s just the location on Glenway but my experience with Wing Eyecare sucked. I do not take such comments likely, although I doubt a random review on Unilocal will have any visible effect(yes, I’m that corny). A. It took about 2 hours when I initially came in for an eye exam. Even as a walk in, in the middle of the afternoon on a weds I find that excessive. Nobody ever asked me if I wanted water or apologized for the waiting. half the wait was in the exam room which was dimly lit and if I didn’t have my phone I probably would have gone insane. Finally when the optometrist came in she did her thing and oddly enough made a point of staring at a mole/birthmark on my shoulder. She just kept staring at it, I dunno maybe as a ‘medical professional’ she wanted to advise me to get it checked out. If so then say that, don’t just keep staring that’s rude and it made me uncomfortable. She probably didn’t realize she was doing it but again, odd. She also advised me that my blood pressure was high, I’ll come back to this later. B. When I went to pick out my frames in the tiny room where they have all their displays a man came out and gravely introduced himself saying he would be assiting me. Again, weird. He just stood there and didn’t leave when it was clear I didn’t need his help. Buying a pair of glasses here not a used car. such sales tactics seem out out of touch compared with your average retail setting. C. It took a week for my glasses to be made and nobody ever called me to say they were in. I called and asked was told they were there. A phone call would’ve been nice. When I came to get them and put them on, one of the lenses felt off. it was clearly not the right setting and made my vision blurry which caused an off balance sensation. I’ve had the same nearsighted pair of glasses made from all kinds of places ranging from your long standing family optician type office to those fly by night 2 pairs for 80 bucks no name brand stores. Not only did I not have to wait that long for several pairs to be made, I also never had an issue with the lenses. Also the little grip that goes on your nose fell off right away, someone forgot to screw the part all the way in. Later, after fixing it myself I needed to come back to have it fixed. D. 3rd visit to Wing Eyecare to say that my Rx was off, I was asked if I’d ever gotten my blood pressure checked. Umm, what? Thats when I got angry. What does my blood pressure(which is verifiably always excellent and the nurses go out of their way to tell me so because I am overweight, nonetheless blood pressure rocks) have to do with a bad lense? One of the five ladies sitting at the front desk chatting and seemingly indifferent to clients sat down to look over my chart or whatever. When I told her my blood pressure was beside the point she got defensive blurting out«we’re just trying to help». No, you’re not. Your business is slow, inefficient, out of date with corny 90s décor and overpriced frames. I asked if I culd get a refund and returned the glasses. I would steer clear of Wing Eyecare.

I love wing eye care on glenway. I have been going there since I was a kid and have always experienced great care from the docs and awesome service from staff. Kind and knowledgable staff, especially at fitting me with contacts since I have really dry eyes and tried every pair on the market. I love my acuvue true-eye!

The 4 star review is for their optometrists and specialists. They know their stuff. Wing Eyecare has many offices in Cincinnati but it is a local biz started by Mr. Wing here in Cincinnati. Wing lived in East Price Hill and started his business in his basement. I know this because a friend of mine bought his house and all his equipment is still down there! They do the lens prescriptions on site but most of the frames are delivered. Their sales peeps are another matter. They REALLY tried to get me into contacts. I must have tried every single type on the market. It took about 6 months before they finally referred me to one of their specialists. Turns out my eyes really are too dry for contacts. The sales folks still, to this day, insist I should be able to wear conacts. They simply refuse to believe that«in this era of advanced eye care someone’s eyes are too dry». Their words.
