Dined on the patio, our first time at the restaurant. Food was locally sourced and delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options(Thanks). Portions not crazy sized which we really appreciated — we were going on somewhere else and so we would not have been able to take a box — and we didn’t need to. Appetizers(crab/avocado, and Gorgonzola) were delicious. Mains(veg. lasagna, and duck) were equally wonderful. We also moved to the bar after the meal and discovered that happy hour«restarts«at 9pm… we enjoyed ourselves there till our taxi arrived. Wonderful time. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I had dinner here Friday night and it was amazing! I LOVE the Earl Grey Martini(I don’t usually like martinis but I am a big iced tea drinker and that is what this tastes like-you don’t notice the alcohol!) The chips & guacamole and shrimp appetizers were fantastic. My boyfriend ordered the duck and especially loved the whipped potatoes that come with it. I had the filet mignon which was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Right off the bat, I was disappointed that the restaurant was not at the top of the building. Put the restaurant on the top floor, then you can call it «View». Lobster bisque was decent, but the entrees were overpriced and bland. $ 6 Yuengling?! You gotta be kidding me. The view’s not even that good, and since the patio was closed due to weather there are really only a few tables with a halfway decent view. The dining room looks very dated, with a soundtrack to match. I swear I heard«Beyond the Sea» multiple times. Plenty of other places to go in town to spend this kind of dough and get a better experience.

The place seems a little over rated. The service was okay. We could not see the view from our seats. The drinks were pretty good. The band/singer in the bar area was pretty good. I would say even the high light of the night. The food was bland. We ordered the truffle crab mac & cheese. We could not taste the truffle or the crab. I was extremely disappointed. The main course were the same. The meatloaf was tasteless and the stuffed seafood dish was okay at best. If you go, sit in the bar area and enjoy the singer with a drink.

It is all in the name«View»! If you dine here, you must sit outside as the view is beautiful. The food is quite good as well, both the girlfriend and myself enjoyed it!

I have read through some of these reviews and I am seeing a lot of inconsistency. I dine at this restaurant often because my boyfriend actually lives in this building. I have eaten here at least 10 times and I have never had a bad dish, server or experience at all. The menu is just a little eclectic, but still very inviting. It changes seasonally, which I love. The bar often has good drink specials too. On my birthday, they made me a martini with vanilla frosting and sprinkles around the rim — super cute. The osso bucco falls off the bone. The asparagus salad with salmon is delightful. Their bread pudding is the same at Bella Luna and the best I have ever had. Skip the other reviews and just go try this restaurant — it is great!

Food good. View great. Server wonderful. Harry, it’s time to invest in some real wine glasses. The glasses here are just as pitiful as the ones at Bella Luna. Pullleaaseeeee Harry!!!

View at some point since my last few visits(a while ago) has become a sister restaurant of Bella Luna. Hence the«Cucina.» We went for dinner with another couple and have a really nice dinner. It was on the pricey end, but everything we ordered was really good. I liked being able to sample some items via the price fixe menu. The lobster bisque and calamari(both styles) was great, and the sliders are pretty unique and really tasty. Oh, and cookie dough pie with ice cream? It was more than I needed to eat that night but pretty much heavenly. I’m kind of surprised by some of the negative reviews and a little confused: I’m pretty sure there were people eating on the patio outside when we went. Further, I ordered the prime rib cannelloni, which was delicious and way too big for me to finish. Trust me, this girl can EAT. My only complaint was that the service was a little awkward for a place that now has a rather fancy menu. I can’t quite put my finger on it. Too casual? Not exactly organized? View might not be a place I’d become a regular at, but it’s definitely good for a nice dinner every once in a while. I can’t claim to have tried the entire menu, but what I have tried was pretty darn good to me.

I tried this restaurant’s previous incarnation, VIEW, last summer and gave it a one star review but still held out hope that the sinking ship could be saved. It recently came under new ownership and I had high hopes that they could take advantage of this out of the way location with its tremendous view. Unfortunately i was sadly mistaken. The food was absolutely horrible as before, but with some new items. And on top of it all, the new owners no longer serve dinner on the massive patio so you don’t even get to enjoy the view while you eat! Why the heck would you call your place VIEW and not have a view while dining? For the record, the weather was perfect outside. VIEW, you had your last chance. I won’t be back

We’ve been here 7 times, sadly four of them were for the now defunct brunch. The brunch wasnt great by any means, but we live in the neighborhood and its real easy. Hopefully they’ll bring it back on day We’ve also been once for the Weds night burger and beer night. Burger was ok, just same old. We did one dinner when I had the prime rib cannelloni, good, but small portion for the prise. And most recently we went for the Sunday night Italian buffet, only to be told they were closing the buffet down early and we couldnt order it. We ended up ordering from the menu and honestly I cant remember what I got. I was still upset that we came down for an $ 18 dinner and ended up spending double. Notes of reference– –Rarely is there a hostess at the station, often they are walking around or by the bar –They recently had to cut their Sun music offerings due to noise ordinance(thank god by the way, as a neighbor I dont want to hear music after midnight on a Sun night) –It brings in an older crowd

Visited on a Tuesday, for half price wine night, so already I was a fan. :) $ 21 for a Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, I can’t find that kind of deal at a liquor store! Parking was confusing for us, as it was our first visit and we pulled into the upstairs condo parking instead of the garage below, but once we found the garage parking there were plenty of spots. Our server was great, funny and very helpful. We got there early because we were going to a show, and it was a beautiful evening. We asked to be seated outside, and we got THETABLE. The one in the corner, that faces the river, with nothing blocking your view. That view is incredible! We started with the warm gorgonzola dip, which is heavenly. Very heavy and rich, so you will want to share this with a few people, but it is delicious. Beet salads with fried goat cheese were just okay. The dressing didn’t really have enough punch to cut through the oil and goat cheese. Needed more acid, from citrus or vinegar, or whatever. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t blow me away. My husband got the prime rib canneloni, which he is a HUGE fan of at Bella Luna. It wasn’t as good as it is at Bella Luna! I know it’s got to be the exact same recipe, but at Bella Luna it usually comes out with the cheese kind of golden brown on top, kind of a crust to break up the monotony of richness and cheese, and this didn’t have that crust, it was just a pile of melty cheese(I know, sounds terrible, right?). It just became too rich for him about halfway through. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still delicious, but that golden crust of cheese on top really makes the dish and without it, it was just too much of a good thing! I had the pork chops with a sweet chili sauce, mashed butternut squash and potatoes and some steamed veggies. These were very good. The pork was a little bit tough, I had a hard time cutting the chops because my plate was so full and I was having to work at them a bit, so it felt awkward, like I was going to push a pork chop in my lap at any moment, but this was still a really good dish. The sweet chili sauce was perfect. No dessert, we stuck with finishing the wine, some espresso, and trying to draw deep breaths due to our overconsumption of everything. I definitely want to go back!

This place is not worth the time, money or taste buds! We went there for restaurant week, and even though the prices were reasonable, the portions were paltry. The salmon carpaccio was fine tasting, but small and nothing remarkable. The crab/avocado/panzanella salad was even smaller, with imperceptible bits of what I can only assume was the crab. The avocado was one slice of avocado. And the panzanella salad — well, thank goodness it’s hard to mess up bread. Then came the entrees. The portions were decent on the entrée, but my striped bass was overdone, and worse, really fishy tasting. The much-anticipated caramelized brussel sprouts were inconsistently cooked, with some overly soft, and others raw and no hint of caramelization. I was too disgruntled and suffering from a stomachache at that point to even attempt dessert. Save it for another restaurant!

This place is not far from home and I rarely ever think about it. But I was feeling like getting out of our rut so was looking around for some ideas and this came up! What a great place! We went there for a Saturday night dinner date and were not disappointed. View is an intimate, sophisticated restaurant with a nice fireplace, easy seating and great service. It seemed to skew a bit on the«older demographic,» which is fine with me. Looking around the room there were people presumably on dates, one somewhat out-of-place large family with kids there and what appeared to be many more«mature» people who probably lived in the building that came downstairs for dinner. So people were in various stages of casual to dressy but the place reads to me a bit on the dressy side. We didn’t really get to enjoy the view that everyone talks about from where we were seated but that didn’t matter. A jazz trio was playing and the ambience was very pleasant. Hubs had the Angus NY strip steak, which was cooked as requested(he has a lot of trouble with steak preparation in this city… no one can do medium rare) and some the truffled crab macaroni, which was delicious… several types of cheeses and a hint of crab meat, which gave it a nice smoky flavor. I had the goat cheese ravioli which was stuffed with walnut pesto and rustic tomato sauce and was not disappointed. You could add chicken or meatballs but I decided that simplicity is sometimes best and made a great decision. It rocked! Our server was polite, friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive(just how I like ‘em!). They have a brunch menu which I am looking forward to trying. View will definitely be added our list of regular spots.

Just visited View for the first time to celebrate my mom’s birthday. My parents live in the burbs of NKY and like to visit new places in the city. I try to keep it fun, but not too wild, and The View seemed to fit the bill. This place is known for their spectacular view(hence the name, not getting any stars for creativity there). Unfortunately, it was a bit nippy for dining al fresco. But, the inside is lovely and you can still see the city line and river. We started out with complimentary pastries, an assortment of freshly fried doughs. Very delicious. Similar in taste to funnel cake, so I was in heaven. As an entrée, I went with the biscuits and gravy. So yummy, and the accompanying breakfast potatoes hit the spot. My parents both went for the huge hashbrown burrito thing. It was alot of food, but they enjoyed it. My husband was all boring and got the Club sandwich. Apparently, it got the job done. Overall, good brunch food at great price. Also, they offer free parking, which is nice, as it is in a kind of weird location(near Eden Park on Victory Parkway, inside a residential building). Also, great place to take the parents. The manager caught wind that we were celebrating my mom’s birthday and they gave her a $ 10 gift certificate for either of their restaurants(also own Bella Luna). A very nice touch. I would definitely go back to check out their dinner options.

Went here on Tuesday Night(9⁄15) for Restaurant Week. We were some of the first people there and as it turned out through the evening the youngest people there by at least 40 years dining in the restaurant. : For my first course from the online menu it had listed foie gras, but when we sat down no mention of it and when I questioned the server, he said«We don’t have it». So I decided to order the salmon crêpe and my friend got the duck. These portions were more like amuse bouche portions instead of an app. : For the second course I ordered the mixed greens with a honey dressing and goat cheese and dried figs– it was overly sweet needed some acid to cut down the sweetness and also a textural change from just greens and cheese. My friend got the caramelized apple salad and commented they were poached and not caramelized, said he liked the dressing, but it was all at the bottom of the plate. : After that course bread was brought out, with no explanation of the bread, it turned out to be olive bread and a standard french bread served with a rosemary butter. : For the main course I ordered the potato and parsnip crusted cod with a potato purée and saffron aioli and a tomato broth. The fish was fine, the purée was very grainy and the broth was just OK. My friend ordered the grouper with sweet corn risotto and haricot vert, his grouper was way over cooked, so when the manager came over and asked, he said it was over and she apologized for that and they fired another piece which was much better, however the risotto was over cooked and the haricot vert was just steamed and very bland. : We decided to order dessert which was brought out on a tray, a note: Do not bring out crème brûlée that looks like that, there was so much excess liquid, it turned me off. We decided on the cookie dough pie, and it was grainy as the server even told us and it needed sugar. It looked like the clientele was from the condos right above the restaurant, and by the way the food was bland and over cooked was marketed towards an older crowd.

The view from VIEW patio is lovely. You can see the river and basically down to the SouthShore building. You can“t really see much upstream — at least in the summer when the leaves are out. It can get a bit windy and if you want to dine on the patio, make a later reservation to let the sun pass over the building. I bought a coupon online for half price. I was excited to try VIEW. I had the filet mignon. It was served with 3 asparagus stalks that were on the crunchy side of my taste, but hey, that’s better than being on the other side(mushy). The filet itself had a texture unfamiliar to me in this cut. It was sinewy. That’s the only way I know how to describe it. Perhaps it was just had more fat marbling than most filet cuts I have had. So this filet did not have a uniform, melt in your mouth texture. The potatoes were yummy. My partner had the local farm chicken. I am sad to say it was dry. But whatever it was served with was delicious. I can’t even remember — but it wasn’t potatoes. After presenting our coupon to our server upon being seated, he informed us that it was half price bottle of wine night(Tuesday). Great! Let’s try the Prosecco. He popped the cork, and started pouring, and pouring, and pouring. There was no pour and test opportunity. Just two full glasses of prosecco. I think perhaps some training could be in order. I did notice that the waitstaff was quite young considering the pricing on the menu. When the bill arrived, the prosecco was not half off. I brought it to the attention of our server. He tried to explain that half off wine was not compatible with my coupon. I pointed out to him that I made sure to present my discount coupon promptly — before he offered us half price on bottles of wine. To his or management’s credit, they did recalculate my bill accordingly. In summary, the food was just OK. And the waitstaff seemed under-trained to serve at the pricing level of VIEW.

So we were the youngest people for dinner on a friday night by at least 2 decades. The view is extremely nice from the patio, the food was excellent. We had the pork, which was served two ways, and both were delightful, the prix fix theater menu was also very yummy. A great place for a date, off the beaten path of typical Mt. Adams.

If you are looking for a date night, girl’s night, mom and daughter night, sissy night or just a nice dinner with a nice someone, View is an excellent choice. Thanks goodness for GCI Restaurant Week. I found this little gem in the sea of the amazing restaurants hidden around Cincinnati. It was a tough decision, but in the Unilocal spirit, Carrie L. and I chose View over all the others because we hadn’t heard of it, it was kind of new and the menu looked outstanding. We were not mislead. Parking was wonderful; a covered garage. The hostesses were attentive and friendly. They checked our coats and honored our reservation with punctuality and a smile. The wait staff was patient with my typical 20 questions and so sweet. The three course meal offered during Restaurant Week was a great sampling of their normal menu. Steaks, salads and soups are some of the offerings on the menu, but what really enticed me were the Lamb, crab cakes, clam chowder and other unique dishes. The Lamb was prepared perfectly. So tender and tasty. The desert plate looked delicious, but after eating every bite of my 3 course meal, I couldn’t find the room. I will most definitely be going back to View. Probably for a girl’s night or small dinner party with friends. Although our table wasn’t in the prime location, the View from View looked amazing. Bön Appetite!

Picked this place for a double date dinner because I’d never been and the Restaurant Week menu looked fantastic. I was not disappointed. The location in an apartment building is a bit odd, but you can walk in a side entrance coming out of the parking garage and get there pretty directly. The restaurant feels very aptly named if you score a table by one of the large plate glass windows overlooking the city(or even better, in warmer weather, one on the patio) – great view! I was a little put off when we first arrived because despite our reservation, we were told that we would need to wait 15 – 20 minutes for our table to turn, this despite lots of empty tables in sight. Turns out they were waiting on a table by the window for us and it only took 5 minutes, so not a big deal at all. Service was good during the meal, but not flawless(a little lacking in knowledge on the extensive wine list). Now, the food: I started with the crab cake with sriracha aioli – absolutely delicious, up there with the best I’ve had, was just a little sad that it was so small! Second course was another petite portion – this time potato and leek soup: thick, creamy, silken-textured, yum! For my main course, I got the petite fillet mignon that came with a chunk of slipper lobster and a couple of spears of asparagus. The fillet was very good, but not amazing; overall just eclipsed by the first 2 courses. I was told that I simply *had* to order the bread pudding for dessert there by colleague(apparently the same recipe as the award-winning version served at their sister restaurant, Bella Luna), so my husband and I split one. It didn’t quite measure up to ones I’ve eaten further South(Beaumont Inn in KY being my gold standard), but it was rich and satisfying despite being a bit one-note texturally.

As is becoming obvious, I am a big fan of brunch. Brunchy brunch brunch. View has the bonus of being less than a mile from my house, so I can partake freely in mimosas and not worry about how I’ll get home. I’ve only had one brunch at View thus far, but I feel certain there will be many more to come. I brought two out-of-town guests and we were all charmed by the restaurant’s stylish décor and its plentiful brunch options. There’s nothing I hate more than a restaurant that advertises its brunch and gives you 3 – 4 limited options(ahem, Rookwood Pottery). The View’s brunch menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. My banana-pecan pancakes were delicious, and my dining partners enjoyed the pear salad and southern eggs benedict(with fried green tomato!) immensely. We had a fantastic time here and I can’t wait to go back again!(I also plan to sidle up to the bar at some point to check out what looks like a decent selection of Great Lakes beer on tap.)
