Love it. I wish there were more heathy places like verde to eat all over cincy. The buffalo chicken and Baja are perfect salads.

It was our first time there, in retrospect I wish I would have just got a salad as that what’s 90% of the other patrons were eating but we ordered 3 sandwiches — two paninis and a kid pbj. Overall we were all extremely disappointed in our lunch, the sandwiches were made on thick white bread(I expected healthier options) and were very sloppily constructed. The cheese didn’t melt on our paninis and by the time we sat down(the ordering/paying process wasn’t speedy by any means) they were also a bit soggy and completely falling apart. The whole place seems very amateur and the staff seemed to careless about what they were making us. Even the cookie my son got tasted bad! I don’t intend to go back and if I did I’d try a salad. Oh and to cap it all off — our total was $ 24!!!

I try to support small business as much as I can, and I am also obsessed with make-your-own salad/burrito/whatever establishments, so when I heard about Verde I obviously had to go. My first visit, and every visit since, has been a great experience. I work right down the road so I usually get to-go food and take it back with me, but I have also dined in on several occasions. First, the food: fresh, visually appealing, and great tasting salad accoutrements of all kinds. Unlimited versions of salds to create yourself, but I usually stick with one of their creations(buffalo chicken is my go-to, subbing in spring mix for the romaine and fresh tomatoes for sun-dried, and requesting they go light on the dressings… sometimes it can be a little much if you’re not careful). I’ve also had several of their soups and they’ve all been delicious. Ambience: very clean, bright, and crisp… everything you’d want to associate with a fresh salad place. Outside, they have a bunch of tables for al fresco dining complete with a built-in tie-up for doggies!(there was also a water bowl out this summer) Staff/service: on several occasions the owner has come by and chatted with us. Super friendly, as is the rest of the staff. Never much wait. All in all, I love this place and will continue to spend my lunch money there :)

A good salad is hard to find. That’s why I got excited when I heard about this new place – the first chopped salad in town(I’m an eastcoaster so I miss Chop’t and its infamous lunch lines in midtown Manhattan). Decided to stop by for a quick lunch to-go. Scratch that. Ended up waiting in line for 15 minutes or so and ate in. There were only four people in line and two servers behind the counter: one staring at a line of tickets(note to self: call ahead), taking his sweet time preparing each order, and the other hovering around the cash register(though there was no one paying…). Then the owner came buzzing in at around 10 after 12, and the place seemed to shake awake. Suddenly there were three or four people duly preparing salads. Maybe it was the weather outside(blue skies, warm autumn day), whatever the reason, the owner was incredibly cheery and clearly proud of her business. They do have some solid choices on the menu: angry goat, spicy steak, and lox salad caught my eye. Maybe because there were many good choices, I ended up making my own. I wasn’t too impressed with the dressings, even though I heard the owner remark that they are made from scratch. Banana peppers weren’t so fresh. Because of that, taste was just OK. Taste really comes down to the freshness of the ingredients and the right dressing. By the way, they have kimchi. Prices are reasonable. I got double the«extras»(salmon and goat cheese) and paid 10 bucks. The bowl is not as ridiculously large as portion sizes at most salad places, which I actually prefer, so I don’t have to waste food or force myself to eat another salad at dinner(let’s be real here). In the end, what really stood out for me was the atmosphere. The place is so bland. It lacks character and that cozy feel I associate with many of the local establishments I frequent. This is not a place I would feel comfortable sitting down to enjoy a steak dinner, let alone a salad.

This is the only decent, upscale salad place I could find outside of the downtown area. They have many delcicious sandwich and salad options or an extensive«build your own salad» option that I’ve always been pleased with. I wish more places like this opened around Cincinnati.

I really like the food… the choices are yummy! But the service is painfully slow. I hope they figure out how to speed folks through, especially during lunch!

Tried Verde for the first time yesterday. I had a build your own salad that was fantastic. My wife had the Greek which she thought was great as well. We tried a cup of The Broccoli Cheese soup which we didn’t care for. We will be back!

When I first heard about Verde, I was really excited, because, as a vegetarian, there just aren’t enough veggie options. While disappointed to find that they wouldn’t be offering organic(I only buy organic produce myself), I was at least glad to hear they would try to source as much locally as they could. I finally had the opportunity to eat here last week and I feel it was a mixed experience. It was lunchtime on a Thursday, and the place is still new, so there was a bit of a crowd. I’m not sure really what I was expecting, but can I just say I hate the set-up of lining up at the counter(through the inside seating area) and waiting to place your order. They have a large and somewhat confusing menu board. I stared at it a long time before figuring out what to order. Sometimes, too much choice is just that… too much. Because it was too confusing, I chose to order a pre-set selection, the Veggie Delight salad. When it was finally my turn to get to the counter, I stood there for quite some time before anyone came to ask want I wanted… or even acknowledged that I was there; this, despite the fact there was a guy making a salad right in front of me. I noticed that it looked like the servers making the salad were looking at cards or some kind of ingredient list while making the order. I realize this place is new, but again, maybe this is where too many choices become a problem. Once I gave my order, I had no idea what I was supposed to do, so I just stood in front of the counter chatting to my companion. Eventually, we went to the register… my salad was ready, but his wrap was not. It was just too confusing and there was a distinct lack of communication from the employees as to how things worked and what the process was. The inside is kind of small and pretty basic. No pleasant ambiance to make you want to stay there, so we sat at a table outside(fortunately, it wasn’t miserably hot and humid.) I also don’t like how the line to the counter infringes on the seating area, so that was another turn off for sitting inside. My salad was decent, but WAY too overdressed. I guess I didn’t pay enough attention to the fact it was a «chopped» salad place. I would order dressing on the side in he future. Typically, I don’t like raw green peppers(which were on this salad), but I was too overwhelmed by the choices to make any changes. I love artichokes, so that was my main motivation for ordering the Veggie Delight. It was supposed to have chickpeas; I guess it did, but I really don’t remember… I just remember ALL the dressing. Salad dressing is supposed to accent the salad, not disguise the natural tastiness of the vegetables. In fact the better and fresher the vegetables are you don’t even need salad dressing. I will definitely try Verde again, because I like the concept, just not the execution. I will know to ask for dressing on the side and maybe just study the online menu beforehand. I would probably eat outside on a nice day or take my salad to go. I can’t see sitting inside with the way the store is laid out… unless there weren’t any customers lining up, then maybe. So, overall, I would recommend it for something a little different and to go… hold the dressing!

My husband & I often find ourselves running around town and nearing dinnertime. The same statement is always made by one or both of us, «I wish there was just somewhere we could go to get a delicious, fresh salad.» The standard salad options at most chain & even local restaurants tend to be boring or loaded with heavy ingredients, like fried chicken pieces & cheese, and heavy, creamy dressings, and they NEVER seem to «hit the spot». Well, our prayers have finally been answered!!! Verde Salad & More is exactly what we’ve been looking for in the Cincinnati area in terms of simple, fresh salads! We have been attending a birthing class at Bethesda recently and my husband spotted Verde on our way home last week. We decided to check them out this week before our class and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised! We walked into a bright, VERY clean, open ordering & eating area. There were also a few tables outside. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering suggestions and personal recommendations. I had a build-your-own salad that was amazing!!! I asked if they could do a blend of their spring mix, spinach and kale as the base of my salad and they were more than happy to accommodate my request. I then picked my toppings, 4 are included in the $ 5.75 price of either a build-your-own salad or wrap and additional toppings are only $ 0.50 each. I selected chickpeas, cucumbers, green peppers, artichoke hearts, carrots and sunflower seeds. My greens and toppings were tossed into a large bowl and«chopped» with the balsamic dressing I chose. My husband chose the Ty Cobb wrap and was very pleased with his selection! It was a good sized-wrap and packed full of yummy ingredients. I also ordered the vegetable soup, which was delicious and loaded with fresh veggies! My husband had the broccoli cheddar soup, which was very tasty but ended up being more than he could eat! We ended our meal with a couple of vegan treats, Voreos from Sweet Peace Bakery, Cincinnati’s only vegan bakery and a couple of Lavender Grahams from Grateful Grahams, a vegan bakery located in Covington. If I could eat here every single day, I would — that’s how happy I was with my experience. We will be loyal customers and will do our best to encourage everyone we know to visit as well!!!

Just visited and had a great chopped salad. I had the angry goat. I wished the salad dressing was measured out. It really had more than I wanted but right about of goat cheese, cranberries & pecan. The owner was totally friendly & happy to answer questions. Will be going back. Best wishes

Good, healthy food. The service was a little slow, but I expect that will improve with experience.(The cashier looked as if she was learning the register.)

I first heard about Verde after reading about the official Grand Opening coming up today, so I decided to go check it out and try a salad. I love healthy fresh food with good nutritional values. I arrived about 20 minutes before the stated Grand Opening and realized that my plan wasn’t a good idea. They were not serving food for at least 40 minutes while they prepared for photos and the cutting of the ribbon and a few words by the mayor. After all of that I managed to get in line to order and I got the Happy German salad. I asked to substitute sunflower seeds instead of croutons and that was done. While waiting for my salad I noted how good it smelled in this clean and bright store. The help was nice, young, and clean cut. My salad was very tasty and I’ll go back another day to try something else. There are a great many salads to choose from and a large list of items to make a custom salad — you tell the workers what you want and they make the salad in a big bowl and then«chop» it into bite size pieces — something I like! They also have soups, sandwiches, and some desserts. Reasonably priced too. There is a nice covered eating area outside as well as inside of course.

We went for lunch today during the ‘soft opening’ and were really impressed. You can’t beat the build-your-own-salad option… so many great choices. Besides the salad bar, there are several menu items, but I was too busy choosing all the goodies for my salad to remember what they are! The employees, although brand-spanking new, were smiling and happy… they handled the large crowd like pros. Verde is in the strip center behind the UDF in Montgomery, so be prepared to make a quick turn into the parking lot as soon as you spot the bright green sign. I will definitely be a regular.
