This shop has wonderful customer service, and so much to offer that it’s a little overwhelming when you first walk in. A lot of reviewers have been calling this a vintage or boutique, and while there is some amount of that, it appears to me to be more of a costume shop. Anything you could need to dress from any era, or dress up as anything in general, they have it. Costumes weren’t quite what I expected, or what I was looking for when I wandered in. But if costumes to buy or rent is what you’re looking for, this is your one-stop shop.

My wife and I try to stop in to Talk of the Town when we visit Cincy; we’ve always found the staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Like any vintage store, finding the right size(s) in the era of clothing you are looking for can be hit but, the hunt is part of the fun. Highy recommend this store.

Unique shop with a large variety of vintage clothing and newer costumes for sale and rent. We went on a vintage 1940s dinner train and wanted to dress to the period. Talk of the town had everything we needed to complete the look.

Talk of the Town is one of those places where I just wish I could live. My closet would be full of amazing things and I could be whoever the heck I chose to be on any given day. This place is like a mixture of grandma’s closest and a time warp. If you stay on the lower level you have everything from the 1920’s to the cheesy 80’s. I mean, they even have those funky shoes from the 70’s with the goldfish in the bottom. how much more awesome can you get? I am a lover of the odd and quirky and Talk of the Town definitely delivers. There are things in here that I have never seen in my life! When I wanted to make my own show girl costume, I ventured through the doors, and was helped out with some giant white peacock quills to use for my head dress. When I wanted something creepy, I ventured upstairs to the costume area to try my hand at all the awesomeness there. This place seriously has something for everyone. If you are a vintage junkie, they have it. I don’t even know what you’re looking for, but it’s here. If you want to rent a costume, they’ve got you, complete with all the swanky accessories. Most of the costumes have the option to rent or buy. I have been a show girl, go go dancer, creepy monster of some sort and without Talk of the Town my looks may not have been possible. The owner is awesome and she has been more than helpful each time I have been in. Iove, love, love this place and if she would let me, I would move in. you know, to keep the place safe at all times or something… yeah.

Terrific customer service here! As far as I’m concerned(and especially when it comes to Unilocal!), a business lives and dies by the quality of their customer service. Take good care of me, go a little above and beyond, and I’ll come back again and again. Act like you have better things to do than pay attention to me or be rude, lose my business forever. Oh, and I’ll talk shit, too — believe it. Talk of the Town is a great mix of vintage clothing/accessories and full-on costume shop. If they don’t have a real whatever you’re looking for from decades ago, they’ll definitely have a replica suitable for renting. I went in looking for a hat — a Homburg style hat from the 1920’s, to be specific. The young woman showed me what they had on the vintage side of the store first, taking down several hats and recommending various styles and sizes. When nothing worked, we went upstairs to the costume shop and again, she showed me several different styles and made additional recommendations. All the while, she was talking with my little girl and playing with her, totally occupying her attention with feathers and hats and things while I tried on hats. When I checked out, the owner of the store came out and visited with me a bit, also paying attention to my daughter and playing with her some, too. Both women were patient, explained everything, answered every question and gave me top-notch customer service. Great job, Talk of the Town! I’ll be back for sure.

This store is certainly the best within the city. I would go so far as to say it is also one of the best I’ve encountered in the country. The clothing and accessory selection available from the various decades is fabulous. Quality is found throughout the store and the pricing is most reasonable. You can find whatever you are looking for-classy to funky. The costume shop will drop your jaw and make you smile. Nancy(the owner) and her staff have great knowledge and know how to treat their customers well. One will always find a new treasure here!

Cool place to look for last minute costumes, masks, etc. There is a HUGE selection of stuff. I got two authentic Madi Gras masks for $ 30! Also, I used some old German WWI outfits for a Ethics project. Great place. Check them out1

Really Quality Vintage Sure the prices are higher, but you can tell the people here care about the qaulity of the clothing. They also offer a wide range of sizes. Which can sometimes be hard to find. Gloves hats and accessories, this place really has it all! The bottom part of the store is a costume shop, which offers some pretty awesome Halloween costumes you can rent of buy.

This place is a must-stop for costume/Halloween needs. I will be going back next year prior to the holiday because there are two floors of costumes. The«funky» room had costumes of every type that you can rent or buy. You can also rent accessories such as shoes. There’s some jewelry and nick-nacks but not a ton. The vintage side of the place had a good selection of dresses, sweaters, coats, purses, etc. I snagged a gorgeous 50s dress in good condition for about $ 60. The owner and workers were very friendly and helpful. Make sure you get a shopper’s card with stamps for every $ 10 spent — it adds up quick and can save you money later.

I’m not 100% sure how to rate this place… but even if you don’t buy anything its still awesome to look around and try stuff on! This place really has 2(maybe 3) basic parts to it. When you walk in and go to the right, there are costume pieces galore! You can find just about anything here. Wanna 60’s style flower power dress? 80’s poofy prom dress? Wanna rock out like MJ complete with fedora and sequined gloves? I mean seriously, there’s a little something for everyone! Then back to the entrance area and theres a bunch of jewelry, mianly costume, some vintage, some normal, and random nick-knacks. Then up the stairs to the right is a vintage shop heaven. There’s outfits, hats, purses, accessories, just about everything you can think of. Need a derby hat? they’ve got quite a few to choose from! I think the coolest thing about this place though, is that they give you a rental option, even on their vintage stuff. If you decide you want to buy it after renting it? They’ll put your rental towards the price of it! They’re very nice and helpful here too. Yes the pricing can be a bit steep but when it comes to vintage pricing, its not too horrible.

Finding a Mr. Blackwell dress in perfect condition in your size is like finding the holy grail! It really doesn’t get much better than that in my fashion world. And I found one here! Talk of the Town is one of the best vintage stores in Cincy with an amazing collection of vintage hats, gloves, clothing, and shoes. I even found a 1930’s pair of shoes in my size which is near impossible. When did our feet starting getting so big? The sweet lady who owns the shop was so friendly and kind. She helped me when I needed it and left me alone when I wanted to browse. They also have a huge section of their store for costumes and rentals if you are looking for a party or Halloween and it looked to have tons of great stuff. I mainly stuck toward the vintage! Their prices are a bit higher than I would have liked, but for their selection and quality, I’m willing to splurge! If you are a vintage lover, Talk of the Town is for you!

At least 2 floors stuffed full of vintage clothes and costumes, with the option to rent or buy on most items. Easy to find and the staff is helpful and pretty cool(even though one of them apparently has never heard of Teen Wolf, can you believe it?!) if you have an idea for a halloween(or otherwise) costume, they probably have the parts to help put it together.

Believe me, I’m not one to hate on a place that has some awesome digs, but… Due to the nature of the shop, not much changes(which can be both a good thing, & a little bit boring at times). It is possible to find some pretty good deals, depending on what you’re looking for… but be prepared to pull out your pocket book, as(for the most part) prices are a tad high. If you’re looking for variation, you’ve got a better chance hitting up your local thrift store. I’m used to retooling clothing & repairing clothing from some vintage shops & thrift stores… but for some of the prices on some items, repairs shouldn’t be necessary. Aside from all of this, the woman who owns the shop(Nancy Marshall) is terribly nice… but she sometimes seems slightly more geared into getting you to walk out with something, versus getting something you genuinely love. They do have a page on Facebook( ), which is updated on a semi-regular basis… *Just to note, due to the layout of the store, this is also not a wheelchair friendly place.

Talk of the Town is truly a mecca among vintage stores. The selection is absolutely enormous, and organized by decade(and also by size, which is a rarity in vintage stores). I was only able to spend an hour here, but I would have been happy to spend an entire day exploring the nooks and crannies of this gem. I am a long time vintage shopper, and I found Talk of the Town’s prices to be extremely reasonable for exceptionally high quality pieces. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can honestly say this was one of the best vintage shopping experiences I have ever had.

Their selection is great, the staff is super-friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are a true bargain. If you’re in town looking for a deal on authentic vintage clothing(1920s — 1980s), look no further. The store is laid out by time period, with like-items grouped together so everything is easy to sift through. There were plenty of clothes for both men and women. My girlfriend and I could have spent an entire day in the store. A note for halloween shoppers: they have an upstairs room dedicated to costumes. Go here and avoid the high prices and crowds of those cheesy halloween stores.
