Sweet Release Cupcakes

I called Alycia about a day in advance because we lost a dear co-​worker and I wanted to send cupcakes to the office. I live in Jacksonville, FL and the office was in CIN. Alycia, not only delivered amazing cupcakes, she delivered happiness during a tough time! The team LOVED the cupcakes! Thanks, Alycia! You gave that «hometown» service that I really needed!

I’ve had lots of cupcakes from all the usual suspects around town, and none have really stood out until now. I’ve had the opportunity to sample a few of the delicious cupcakes and find them to have the perfect amount of flavor that is neither too sweet or too bland. I think that one of the more unique things that sets this cupcakery apart are the flavor combinations and customization capabilities. Are your favorite flavors Guinness and chocolate? Done. Thinking of something off the wall? Probably done as well. Read the other reviews and see that there are almost no limits (except maybe Red Velvet pssst… its just dyed chocolate people!)
*When available, organic, locally bought ingredients such as farm fresh eggs are used. If I can taste the difference, and I do, I am sure you can too.
So, feel free to suggest interesting combinations or unique flavors and I think you’ll come away recommending this business to all your friends and family.
And happy 700^th review for me… I think I deserve a cupcake, ha ha.

I’m not sure that I even need to write anything else, just those 2 ideas should have you intrigued, but I can say these are really great cupcakes and will stand up against any of the other more famous places in town. The best part of Sweet Release is the owner will make up any recipe you can think of! And test it until she gets it right! The prices are affordable ($ 24/​dozen with additional fees for alcohol flavors) and she delivers. Definitely try one today!

So my wife turned me onto these cupcakes. They don’t have a storefront YET, but it is so worth placing an order.
If you think a flavor sounds good, it definitely will.
My wife had placed an order for mother’s day for a few flavors that didn’t sound too great but I was surprised at how good they were… I think one was made with flowers. It was damn good.
So we ordered a few more flavors for Father’s day… Guinness with Bailey’s icing, French Toast Bacon and Butter Pecan.
Man, those things didn’t last long. The French Toast Bacon was crazy good and anyone who likes a good beer will love the Guinness! The icing on the butter pecan was REALLY good too! That was a fav with our fam.
If you are in the need for sweets, definitely give them a call. If you are placing an order around a popular holiday (mother’s day/father’s day) they might even have extra flavors that you can add on!

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude. I don’t like cake, or cupcakes. My mother is a pastry chef and has spoiled me to the point that whenever I eat anything else, I’m like this is garbage. That is until tonight when I was served up a red and white checkered paper lined burger basket with a burger brownie cupcake in it with sugar cookie fries.
YES– what you have just heard is real. There was even red ketchup icing to dip your sugar cookie fries in. I think if I died tomorrow I would be satisfied with everything I needed in life. The cupcake was moist, the brownie was fabulous and the creativity was incredible. I felt like a kid again. I was so giddy eating this cupcake. And THAT is what makes good food. Memories.
I’ve also had the lavender cupcake, again I don’t like cake but this was moist and done well. Not overly sweet and balanced. If I were to order a dozen I would probably go with that flavor but they have so many different options. From hot toddy, to cookie dough, buttercream, root beer, creamsicle you name it Alycia can probably do it. If you don’t believe me just look at the photos.

I sampled some of Alycia’s cupcakes at the Unilocal Elite event at the Ensemble Theater… is it wrong that all I had for dinner that night was wine and cupcakes?!? I think not. She is making these out of her home and is super great on delivery.(free within 10 miles of downtown)
Anyways, I placed an order for mother’s day/Mother’s birthday for a half dozen each of her two lavendar/​honey/​lemon cupcakes. They sounded like the perfect thing for late spring sweet treats.
THEY WERE AMAZING!
One was a lavendar cupcake with a honey lemon frosting. The other was a honey lemon cake with lavendar frosting. I can not tell you which one was my fav they were both to die for!
The cupcakes were a huge hit and the mom’s really appreciated them.
I am not contemplating which flavors to order for my anniversary!

Alycia’s cupcakes are awesome! I emailed her the day before I wanted cupcakes for a birthday. When I asked for a list of flavors, she said she will try to make anything! I asked for some sort of stout cupcake so she made chocolate Guiness with a cream cheese frosting. They were delicious — especially with the cream cheese frosting that wasn’t too sweet. I also ordered some lavender lemon honey cupcakes which were also delicious. She is also very flexible and met me close to UC. Price was what I expected and maybe a bit better than expected since I ordered these last minute.
