Skincraft is legit.
I have now been here twice as a part of what now may be a tradition of the wife getting a tat aka tattoo over Thanksgiving travels to Cincinnati. Jess is extremely professional and always provides her services with genuine kindness. The wife enjoys getting tatted up here, sorry, getting her tattoos here and it is a cool environment. The surrounding neighborhood and appearance from outside are not quite representative of the quality of work that goes on here. Stop by and be impressed.

I don’t have any tattoos and my mom would kill me if I did get one. But if I did, hopefully Jess at Skincraft would do the honors.

Skincraft was great — loved the overall atmosphere. Big plus was that there’s a parking lot (parallel parking is not my forte) in addition to street parking.
The staff was friendly and Jess did an amazing job on my tattoo! She responded (via her FB page) quickly to my inquiries and gave great feedback to my ideas. I will definitely come back and see Jess again!

Great service! I went to get a piercing removed and the gentleman (i think his name is Matt) was professional and personable. He steralized everything and washed his hands twice. I would definitely come back here.

I went a few weeks ago for my first tattoo. I didn’t have an appointment, and they were still able to get me in. There was a bit of a wait, but it was to be expected. I wanted a daisy with my moms initials somehow incorporated. Todd was the artist that did the piece. He worked with me to get the right font and image and it turned out beautifully. The facilities are clean and in a super cool neighborhood.

I’ve had a few tattoos done here and have always been very pleased with my experience. The first two I had done by Dave who has since left. My most recent tattoo was done by Jess. She was really patient with me, answering my millions of emails and concerns. I had her do a work by my favorite Canadian artist and she did it perfectly. I am very happy with it.
Skincraft is very clean, which is crucial for a tattoo place. All of the artists are very willing to explain the process and answer any questions. The prices are very reasonable as well. I love that they’re open 7 days a week because it makes it really easy to get an appointment.
For any future tattoos I would certainly come back here.

Went to Skincraft after reading the reviews on Unilocal and was very pleased. Josh Pfiefer welcomed me immediately. He went right to work to give me exactly what I wanted and made recommendations so I could achieve the look I wanted with my new tattoo. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and at ease.

I drove a bit farther to get here, because I had many concerns about getting my ears pierced. But it was definitely worth the trip, Dawn was fantastic! Very thorough with the process, considering both my nerves and sanitization. I highly recommend this place!

So first of all, I came here when I was 18 to get my first tattoo and was very pleased with the results and my experience. This review has zero to do with first tattoo. This review has to do with my most recent tattoo that I got at the beginning of April. It’s a very special tattoo that I got for my little sister who (successfully) battled childhood cancer. So I got the yellow childhood cancer awareness ribbon with little stick figure kids inside. An incredibly simple design, or so I thought. I don’t know if the guy who tattooed me decided he didn’t like me or what, but it’s never a good thing when in the middle of a tattoo you have to ask your artist to re-​draw a line because it’s wobbly. And then the line comes out much thicker than all the other lines because he has to go over it twice. Also, i’m not a tattoo artist, which is why I go to other people to have my work done, so when I come to someone, I’m trusting someone with my body to put something on my skin that will be there FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
When that doesn’t get done well, it’s not like I can wipe it off and we can start over. So the fact that the one line is thick, and the shading is crappy, there are gaps of where there should be yellow (by the stick-​figured children, because he tattooed those before doing the yellow), there is an extended line that shouldn’t be there near the bottom of one side of the ribbon, and that there are various blowouts, basically sums up my satisfaction of my tattoo. Definitely NOT satisfied.
I still love the idea of my tattoo, and whenever I look at it I do think of my little sister and how hard she fought (and continues to fight) to live through what was such a terrible terrible disease. But I also look at it and it hurts my heart, especially when I look at the other work i’ve had done that ironically cost me MUCH less money to get done.
Comparing the tattoo I just had done at skincraft to the tattoos I had done by my tattoo artist when I lived in California is like comparing art a kindergartner did versus a painting done by someone famous. I know it sounds mean, but it’s true. And I don’t even want to go back and complain because I don’t want anyone from there to try to «fix» it and possibly make it worse! :(
So for now it’s the thought that counts, until I can scrounge up enough money to hopefully fix the mess-​ups. I guess from here on out i’ll do ridiculous research before letting someone touch my body with their needle and ink — or just stick to getting my tattoos done when I visit California, because my tattoo artist in CA is LEGIT and knows what’s up.

Getting my ears pierced before I turn 60 was a definite must on my bucket list. Just a plain Jane ear piercing but Dawn couldn’t have been nicer. She explained all my options, explained everything she was doing and gave me all the necessary tips for the healing time.

This review is long over-​due! Got my first tattoo here and will gladly get more when I’m in town. Great clean place, super-​knowledgeable staff, I worked with Stephen. I’ll recommend him and this place to anyone virgin or experienced.

So I took my 14 year old to get her nose pierced. Yeah, you read that right. But she’s done some cool things and this isn’t a manifestation of anything other than her wanting to get her nose pierced so I said, sure why not.
She did the research and got some recommendations on-​line and came up with skin craft and then I double checked everything. I got a few greenlights so I said ok to skkncraft.
I’m glad I did. A tattoo/​piercing shop is kinda like a Hallmark store, not a place I’d ever want to ever go into. But the lobby of the shop was clean and then the rooms where the inking and piercing wis done was clean. It had the feel of a doctor’s office — not some inner city free clinic but a nice suburban doctor’s office. The piercer was as professional as I’d expect someone who woke up one day and said, «I’d love to be a piercer» could be. The whole process was quick and simple and clean. My daughter got a bunch of verbal advice from the guy then some written instructions that were pretty easy to follow.

I’m a little bit obsessed with my piercings, and now Skincraft is the only place I would ever trust to do them. I started going there 2 years ago, when I wanted a dermal anchor piercing on my hand, and no one else would do it. That’s when I met Jeff, one of the piercers, and he told me all the risks of putting a dermal in my hand, but said if I took care of it, he would do it. Two years later, I still have my hand piercing along with another dermal Jeff did in my ankle a year ago.
Dawn, the other piercer and one of the owners, is also amazing. She pierced my nose and it didn’t even swell or hurt afterwards. This is the third time I’ve had it done (had to take it out for work and other things in the past) and I’ve always had trouble with it until now.
Whenever I’ve had any issues with my piercings, or even just needed help changing them out, I’ve gone back and they’ve helped out free of charge. They offer good advice for taking care of them, and if you ever decide you want one out, they know how to teach you to help keep the scarring down.
I don’t have any tattoos, but the work I’ve seen them do in that area is great too. I’d recommend Skincraft to anyone looking to get a piercing or tattoo done in the area.

I went with my friend to get her lip pierced here and it went very well. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the facility is very clean. I have gone there to get new screws for my nose and they did a great job fitting them perfectly. Recommended!

After a year at my new job in a new city, I was ready for my mile marking tattoo. This was my first (hopefully a second on the way…)and I wanted this to be a good experience. After receiving piercings at good, bad and ugly parlors, I was super skeptical of anything in a city I didn’t know much about… but Skincraft with it’s welcoming staff quickly became my parlor of choice and then after glancing at India’s portfolio, she was the artist for me. I brought in, not even a sketch but two pictures to help her develop what I was looking for. I left and an hour later came back and she had created a better tattoo than I could have ever imagined!
Being my first tattoo, she walked me through everything. An INCREDIBLY sterile environment, I highly recommend this parlor and being conveniently in Northside — hit up Melt afterward for a bite, you will surely be hungry after anxiously awaiting your new investment!
