What a Great Bar and Staff… Sadly the Owner Howard Sharron has passed away in the last several days… He was a True Friend to the entire community, he and his Wonderful Bar will be greatly missed…

Their claim to fame«Country Gay Bar.» How about not… I was highly disappointed in the fact the only country in that bar was the lights above the bar. Crowd started off slow but eventually picked up around 11:30 pm. Average age 45 with a few youngsters and a few older. I can understand playing top 40 music to draw a younger crowd in once and a while but not every song. Do not advertise what you are not. They did have great bartenders that took care of their customers: 1 star. Drag show was good too: star number 2 People were great to talk to for once in a gay bar. I approached a few and they were friendly to the outside and some townies approached me. Not a lot of cell phone activity too which was great and was easy to mingle. I would recommend either starting your night here or ending it here. Not a place to spend your entire night.

Awww… if country music and culture were fun, then this would be the place. Fortunately, for years they’ve branched out to attract lost sheep. After Jacobs died and illogically was transformed into a doomed«Bronz» this bar crept upon me as a likely gay dive bar replacement. I resisted. I had the best attire for country theme, but never wore them. Shooters was a bar I snuck into when my downtown plans were boring. Later, there was«Young Bucks» and Shooters gained notoriety for a trendy dive dance spot, but this was short lived as is many of their events. I suspect they like to be thought of as the only gay country bar in the city. But, if you like cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, generous pours, and free people watching… this is my vote for post Jacobs gay friendly(or gay) dive bar.

Stopped in here for the last 40 minutes of a drag show on a Friday night. This place was packed and had narrow walkways so it was hard to maneuver through the crowd. I won’t come here again unless my friends beg me. While it didn’t take long to get a beer, there weren’t many good places to watch the actual drag show from. The group I was with was on the actual«stage.» I also didn’t appreciate getting humped continually(unsolicited!) by a gay guy as I was trying to watch the show.

Shooters is a great place if you enjoy some good country western music and line dancing. The dance floor is always busy on Saturday nights with line dancers. The dancers are great to watch and hot! The overall crowd is pleasant and very friendly to everyone. Another great thing is that there is never a cover! Plus they offer free lessons on Thursday nights at 8 pm, then open dancing from 930 to 1100. The lessons are offered by the Cincinnati Rivertown Wranglers. Great time, great drinks, great friends. Enjoy your time at Shooters

Shooters is a fun one for the gay scene, and I feel they’re currently at their prime with the new«Young Buck Thursdays» that has been drawing in the younger college crowd with bangin’ music, drink specials, and, most importantly, a photo booth to capture the memories and show off on Facebook. Shooters has done an excellent job at recovering from the«old balls gay bar» to a trendy and happening place, and is recommended(on Thursdays!) for a little taste of queer life in Cincinnati.

I ventured over to Shooters one night with a group of friends. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t been to this bar yet! The place has no windows, and it set up with a dance floor in the middle with barn/hoe-down like seating areas surrounding it. They have TV’s throughout the space that were playing country western music along with the videos. As the night went on — the music and videos switched to a little more poppy dance tunes, which was fun! As far as gay bars in this city go — this is by far the most unique and fun! I sure don’t know how to line dance, but a few of the regulars got out there and started showing us the moves, my group of friends studiously followed and learned. Good times! Then later on some large group dances occurred to The Cupid Shuffle and Single Ladies! Drinks were reasonably priced too –they had these pink shots for $ 2 that we all took. Get your books and cowboy hats out of those closets and head over here for a barn-raisin’ good time!
