I just visited my local Sams Club and was extremely dissappointed with the service. My daughter had received a playhouse for her 4th birthday from my family through . Unfortunately, the playhouse was too small for her, so I needed to return it. I went to my Sams Club. I visited the service desk, where apparently I was interrupting a conversation between two service desk employees. Minutes later, an employee finally decides to see what I may need help with. I explained to her that I needed to return an online purchased item, but that it was a birthday gift, so I was not the purcahser. I informed her that I had a copy of the receipt of purchase, and wanted it refunded to the purchasers card(the original form of payment) which was my sister. She told me that they couldn’t do a return on online items. I asked her where that was stated at and she immediately changed her statement. Minutes later, she tells me that she«will» return it, but that I can only get a store credit. I explained to her that I did not want a store credit, because I did not shop with Sams Club or Walmart. She continued to tell me that was all she could do. I asked to see the manager. The manager on duty was VERY rude. He immediately showed disinterest in my issue, and acted as though I was interrupting his day. I went ahead and explained the situation to him, and he continued to show no concern. He simply TOLD me, «A store credit is all you can get». I reminded him that my sister(the original purchaser) paid with her credit card, purchased just two weeks ago, I had the receipt, and that we did not want to buy anything from Sams Club. He completely ignored what I told him, and again said all I could get was a store credit. I left there furious with the store, and called corporate office. At corporate, I recieved an apology, but no resolution. Simply put: if you buy something online, you better like it, otherwise you will be stuck with a store credit at store that does not pride themselves on customer service. I will NEVER shop at Sams Club again. HORRIBLE service.

Great location, great pricing and has everything I’m looking for. I do wish they did more of the sampling, but beggars can’t be choosers. My only warning is that most of my trips here involve a long wait in line; but then again, most of my trips are on weekends.

Warehouse and wholesale stores are pretty much the same. This Sam’s Club was no different. The membership fees are turned back to the member fairly quickly. If they sold gasoline at this location, it would help members quite a bit, as Sam’s Club generally has the better deals on gasoline, similar to BJ’s Wholesale and Costco. If you think that Sam’s Club is WalMart with a membership, you’re only partly correct. While they’re owned by the same company, Sam’s Club generally has better products and upscale food, along with some very familiar brands in bigger sizes and greater quantities. The staff was friendly and they have extended hours for business and premium members. You can also do «Click and Pull» where you tell them what you want and they’ll have it ready for you by a certain time. Their snack bar is good for a quick bite. The pizza combo is a good deal at under $ 3.00 for a large slice of pizza(even deluxe) and a drink. They sell the take-and-bake pizzas, of which the ingredients taste better than those of WalMart. Update: for the first time in 12 years of dealing with Sam’s Club, I needed to return something. The register at the Membership Desk hardly had enough cash to handle that. Why cash? Sam’s Club doesn’t accept Visa. 13 minutes of using the walkie-talkie and overhead paging got no help from management, so the associate just gave me the money in whatever form she had – including $ 30 in $ 1 bills. I got an explanation the next day that an employee was hurt on the dock and that all of management was there. I suppose it’s possible. Also, I ordered tires and had them installed at the store a couple of days later – with a lot of cash again. Days later, I just stopped at another Sam’s Club because it felt as though there was a serious problem. They weren’t balanced correctly. I saw the technician applying the weights, so I know that he was attempting to balance them, but all 4 were wrong. Besides that, the young woman at the snack bar is snippy, but doesn’t have a problem making people wait while she talks to other employees. I’ve changed my mind about this location.

I am a fan of Sams club. I’m not sure why. I like the idea of the store a whole lot more than I like the store itself. I like the idea of buying a brand new bed, tires for my car, prescriptions and 20 gallons of mayonnaise in the same place. I do buy some items from here from time to time, but I think if I ever actually have kids… this place will be the holy grail of thrifty shopping.
