Salon M of Mt. Lookout

Salon M is fabulous! I have been going to Mary Beth since I was a child, and she is truly one of the only people I trust to do foil highlights. They look so natural, even when grown out. I always leave an appointment with a smile on my face and the hair color/​cut I want. We used Salon M (MB and Caitlin) for my wedding day recently, and I cannot say enough good things about working with them. Not only did they travel to the location we were getting ready, but the whole process of working together was a breeze. The Salon M team developed a day-​of timeline for us, and brought everything they needed with them. Each bridesmaid absolutely loved how their hair turned out, and our styles lasted through the night. Highly recommend Salon M. Great service, amazing staff and you’ll always leave happy!

PJ is wonderful! Book ahead for him, he’s worth the wait! He listens to all concerns, suggestion and really works with you to get the hair color/​cut/​style you want! I always leave loving my hair!

Shannon at Salon M (formerly «Cura Bella») was the best thing to happen to me after moving to Cincinnati from New York. Now that I’m moving back to NYC, I wish I could take her with me.
About the Salon: it feels fresh, it is clean, they feature high-​end, natural products, but never push them on you, and the online appointment booking process is smooth and easy. Sometimes salons with such great reputations come with a vibe, but this one was genuinely nice and comfortable.
About Shannon: The perfect stylist. She gave me the exact cut and natural-​looking golden highlights, subtly adjusting for seasons. She could have chastised me for not coming in often enough, like I’ve experienced elsewhere, but instead I was always warmly welcomed. It was always wonderful to talk to her (again, never pressured or forced, always kind and natural) and she has a wonderful, infectious energy. She is a true artist, interested in learning about new techniques, traveling to do so, even though she’s already beautifully talented. The amazing thing is that despite her superior knowledge about trend, color-​suitability, etc., she’s the kind of person who puts her clients’ preferences and comfort above everything and even with this challenge, they all walk out looking (and feeling) like a million bucks.

I called Salon M. on a whim when I found a flyer in my mailbox. They got me in two days later and the receptionist was more than helpful. After telling her that I had never been there before, she moved my appointment up 15 minutes to give my stylist time to get to know me/​what I like before she started cutting. She then asked if I had «a lot of hair», and after telling her that my hair was very long and thick, she moved my appointment up ANOTHER 15 minutes to ensure that my stylist had enough time and wasn’t rushed. I so appreciated this, because it has been an issue for me in the past.
I was randomly booked with Shannon– and it could not have been better. She made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. She really listened to what I had to say; she laughed, but still took me seriously when I told her about my last hair cut horror story. When gave her freedom with my length, she took just the right amount off and didn’t take it upon herself to do something she didn’t think I would like.
You get what you pay for here, that’s for sure. My cut was $ 45 which is pretty standard for most salons that I have been to, and Shannon was worth every penny of it.
