Classic place I’ve gone to for years to see what’s available from estate sales to antique watch restoration. Friendly people and great location.

This is where I’ll go to buy the next piece of jewelry for my wife(shhhhh, don’t tell her.) A friendly staff that was welcoming. Why is it that so many jewelry store folks are off-putting? Maybe that’s me. Anyway, these folks weren’t off-putting. They have mostly estate pieces. So lots of jewelry of old, classic styles for women who appreciate quality and timeless classics. For men there were collections of watches, razors, pocket knifes. And then there were just crazy stuff like a few pieces of furnture or political buttons from the last 60+ years. I even found a «Nixon is the One!» button. Go, browse and buy. I will.

I love this store. Off of Hyde Park Square is this jeweler. They barely have this name in the window and it’s hard to see if their even open. However, what they have is just the greatest collection of beautiful jewelry and crazy junk. Mixed in with the diamonds and gold are buttons from the 70s and toy cars and weird pieces of art. It just goes on and on. The store is much larger than you think it would be, as there are a few rooms in the back. And the display cases are everywhere. They make very good use of space as there is just something to see wherever you turn your head. Starting from the window up front and going all the way to the back. There was even a little adorable dog with giant bug eyes running around as we shopped. He was awesome. The staff is friendly but not pushy and didn’t mind when we shopped for 15 minutes and didn’t buy anything. There are also random bowls of different candy laid around the place(one was full of tootsie rolls, another full of lollipops and so on). Was that for us? For kids who came in with their parents? I have no idea, but it was nice(and sort of felt like my grandmother’s house — especially with all the old shiny stuff behind glasses cases.) This seems like the kind of place that is constantly getting new, strange things in, so each time you shop it’s a new experience. I know I’ll be back. I may actually buy something next time.

This is a great store to just browse. They have lots of antique and modern stuff. A favorite place to look for gifts for P. The window ifs full cheap exotic stuff to draw you in. I recently bought several items from the window, including an antique nitcomb, and a gold locket. Not as cheap but very nice was a Victorian garnet ring. P loved it.
