We went to Rasheedah’s today and it was just what we were looking for. The customer service was great! The prices and portions made it a great value. $ 10 for a dinner with two sides and bread. This was my first time eating soul food at a restaurant versus eating family’s cooking, so it’s hard to compare the food quality, but I’ll try. The food was very good. I LOVED the bread. The fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, and greens were very good. I probably would try something else instead of the candied yams next time. They were good, but not great. My husband got the same items as me except he got the potato salad instead of greens, and that was also very good. It’s not in the greatest neighborhood, but other than that, no complaints! We would definitely return!

I went to Rasheedah’s and she wasn’t there, they only has one serving of greens and if I wanted another serving I would have to wait 45 minutes now this is in the afternoon around 3 o’clock the food was not good at all the mac & cheese looked old like it was leftovers I had the salmon Crokette which was not good at all and if it was cooked to order I wonder where they cooked it; that’s because it wasn’t cook there and if it was it just wasn’t good if I could give lower than one-star I would, I won’t be back that was $ 16 wasted, Thanks a lot Rasheeah

I’ve been going to rasheedas since I was a teen and I was so excited when it relocated to the west side(which is where I live as an adult) the food is always great. They live up to their soul food kitchen title. I can’t believe I’m just now leaving a review. I’ve tried both chicken & salmon dinners and have always been impressed The mac n cheese is always on point the yams YESPLEASE! Lol greens are lightly seasoned which I appreciate bc I’m not big on salts I’ve tried the cabbage in the past and was a happy camper. This is the kind of food that puts you to sleep! Good olé southern comfort

I’ve tried other items from here, but nothing really stood out. I come for the Mac n Cheese ONLY. I found out today after calling multiple times to place an order for pick-up, that if you call too early(after they open & before ~ 11am when help arrives) that they do not answer their phones as it goes straight to voicemail. I had assumed that maybe the phone lines were busy with orders since this is a busy time of year. Clearly that is not the case. Very convenient, I might add. For the convenience of your customers, this should be listed on the menu.

This place probably has the best soul food in Cincinnati. Most places I have eaten at typically have terrible sides but not this place. I highly recommend the Salmon Croquettes and the macaroni and cheese. This is the best mac and cheese I have ever had(yes even better than grandma’s :). And Salmon Croquettes are nice and thick. There are some areas that this restaurant can improve though. The customer service is TERRIBLE. It usually takes a while to get your food or even for them to acknowledge your presence if you come in. The bad customer service is still worth the great food. After you figure the things you like from the restaurant you will find it is best to order your food before arriving and this will no longer be an issue.

This is one of those place you leave with left overs. Of all the times I’ve eaten here the food was delicious and hot! Don’t come expecting pork to be on the menu. Only Halal meats here and some surprises on the menu. This is the healthiest it gets for souls food. From the gingerade to the cream of wheat bread! I had the African red snapper with buttered red skinned potatoes and the bread. It was not how I pictured it but it exceeded my expectations! I walked in and was not greeted and sat down trying to figure out who worked here and who didn’t. Once I place my order the meal came out in five minutes. I was shocked. I spent $ 7 for a meal that could have easily cost twice as much. They have a food strategy here because they offer some atypical menu items on different days of the week to keep you coming back. They all sound appetite and I think it’s brilliant! The place looks like a typical diner with nothing really special. The focus seems to be primarily on the food… and that’s how it should be!

LOVE this place! Came here for my birthday dinner tonight, after reading all the glowing reviews on Unilocal, and was not disappointed in the least! Rasheeda’s is everything a soul food café should be: delicious food cooked to order, regulars chatting at the counter, and the game on TV. You can tell instantly that this café is well-loved by the community it serves, and by visitors as well. Between the five of us, we had: — 2 cheeseburgers — 1 fried chicken(dark meat) plate — 1 Philly cheese steak — 1 chili cheese fries(lunch portion) — 3 sides mac & cheese — 2 sides corn bread — 1 side candied yams — 1 side cole slaw — 1 side greens — 1 side beans — 5 pops — 1 water A few observations: — The food takes a while to come out. This is because they make it just for you when you order it. — The greens have a Cincinnati twist — they’re spiced with cinnamon or nutmeg The portions are HUGE — large enough to do them family style. The best part about Rasheeda’s, for me, anyway, is that our waitress clearly cares very much about her work and our experience as customers I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been here a few times. It’s more of a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s good sometimes it’s not. I must admit better good than bad. All vegetables are cooked with no meat

My boyfriend and I waited for a hour for our order to go today. This was 3 hours ago and I am puking in the toilet. My boyfriend is extremely nauseous. What a major disappointment.

Rasheedah’s experience was very unique for me. I don’t usually eat very much soul food and didn’t really know what to expect. Needless to say, I left very satisfied. The food was piping hot and fresh. The atmosphere was good and matched its surrounding area. I had the jerk lamb which was the specialty for that day. It had so many more spices in it than I imagined. The taste of the meat was amazing. I had macaroni and cheese and coleslaw as sides, both of which were ridiculously amazing. I’ve heard great things about the beef ribs, but unfortunately it is only served on Friday’s and Saturdays. All in all, it was a great experience and I recommend it to everyone, especially those who eat zabihah!

I really enjoyed our experience here. The food was delicious, reasonably-priced, and the portions were large! My family came in on a Thursday evening. We chose our own seat. Our server was very nice and allowed more than enough time to make our selections. We ordered salmon croquettes, tilapia, and catfish dinners. We also had lemon pepper chicken wings, a turkey burger, and sides. The turkey burger came out about 5 minutes after everything else but everything arrived piping hot. We all enjoyed our food. I ordered the croquette with greens and Mac and cheese. The flavor of the greens was unique, may have had nutmeg or cinnamon. The Mac and cheese was good and the croquettes reminded me of my childhood. Delish! We ordered a bean pie to go… I just warmed up a slice… It was even better today than yesterday. I would have given 5 stars easily but there was a little(big in my eyes) violation of kitchen etiquette. Our server took out the garbage, brought the garbage can back, and began packing carry out orders. He very well may have washed his hands prior to bringing the can back, but he clearly sat the can down, then began packing orders. He wasn’t actually handling food, but he was handling plates and containers. We will return, but hope this review inspires change in the hand-washing category.

I can really appreciate a place that makes your food to order. Some people may complain that it may take a while to receive your food, but let’s think about that for a moment… hmmmm… That means that your food hasn’t been sitting on a warming tray for the last five hours waiting for someone to order that particular meal. Everything here is made fresh which is why I have no problem being patient waiting. Cornbread which is made from cream of wheat is absolutely delicious! I’ve also had their salmon croquette, macaroni and cheese, candied yams, and other things which are super home cooking good! Highly recommend!

The dark chicken pieces are small but everything is really good. I had fried fish with mac n cheese with potato salad which was very good. I also tasted the candied yams and cabbage. I’m not really a cabbage fan but it was ok and the yams were good. The cream of wheat bread is definitely good and you should try it.

Being the good bridesmaid that I am, I recently helped secure catering for my friend’s wedding. She needed(halal) food that would appeal to a wide variety of people and palates. Rasheedah(the namesake of the restaurant) did not disappoint. She was great to work with! She answered all calls personally and treated all my questions/ideas/suggestions seriously. She didn’t once get annoyed or frustrated when I called back for the upteenth time about our order(you know, brides can be picky…). Her prices were more than reasonable and included a mix and match of entrees and sides. She did ask that we pay ½ in advance, which was not a problem. We ended up ordering(for 85 guests): baked chicken, meatloaf, mac and cheese, green beans, butter potatoes, and the cream of wheat bread. It was amazing! The chicken breasts were so moist and tender, which was a surprise because the bride had requested all white meat. I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken like that. The meatloaf was dense and filling, and the sides were scrumptious. I also asked Rasheedah to include a pack of to-go containers with our order so that at the end of the night, if guests wanted they could take some home. Sure enough, with her generous portions, there was food aplenty for everyone to leave with a meal good for the next day. I think our only disappointment was that we couldn’t serve her famous beef ribs. Rasheedah could only spare about 20 orders of ribs, and we knew EVERYONE would want some, so we didn’t risk it. But if your party is somewhat smaller, you can serve the ribs.

Rasheedah’s Café serves the best soul food in Cincinnati. I usually get the veggie plate. The collard greens and string beans are always nicely seasoned. The mac and cheese is consistency PERFECT and the potato salad is the best I’ve eaten outside of my aunts kitchen. I also like to order the delicious salmon croquettes, grilled veggie burger and fried catfish. Everything is great and the large portioned dinners range from only $ 6.50 — $ 10.
