Just an amazing shop. Very inexpensive, Found many items that I could find else where. Found items that we thought were discontinued but they had them. Many whole made candies. Lots of bulk item candies and chocolates. Just an amazing little shop. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for candies/chocolates/or nostalgic goodies you could not find elsewhere. Thank you Minges…

This is a great place to buy candy in bulk. It comes in handy for easter baskets and Christmas surprises. Candies are usually in 5lb bags so don’t come here expecting to buy one of something. They do however have a counter of unwrapped chocolate candies they sell by the pound. You can get your Buckeyes here. I love the quaint old-timey feel of a bulk candy store. And they sell assortment bags(handy for alleviating the guilt of hiding some of the Easter eggs a little too well). The staff is really helpful and the selection is HUGE!

Holy crap! Could this place be any cuter? I pretty much OD’ed on sweetness by just walking in the door. It has all the old fashioned candies and it is just so damn adorable that you can’t help but smile as you walk around. They carry Dorchers old fashioned handmade candy canes.

I went to Minges this morning and although the store exterior is charming and the interior layout is clean and organized, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The store was supposed to open at 9, but was still closed around 9:15. I peered through the window to see if anyone was inside and I saw a clerk. She saw me as well, but then proceeded to wait another 5 minutes before she opened the door. At that point, I thought that maybe their hours had changed and I just wanted to get an update from her as to their new hours. When she finally opened the door, I asked her what the hours were and she rudely pointed to the sign that said 9 – 5. I told her that it was after 9 and she said that was waiting on a colleague to arrive before she opened the doors. At this point, it was close to 9:30. I was looking for gum balls but they only carry 2 types. I asked if I could special order some, and I was told that they don’t do that. No other options were given. Overall, a very frustrating experience and I won’t go back or recommend them to others.

One of the hidden treasures downtown! This candy store is simultaneously like stepping back into your childhood(CANDYCIGARETTES!) and steeping into your future(CHOCOLATECOVEREDBRIDGEMIX!) and it’s just glorious. This candy store has all those candies you thought had stopped being sold as well as your favorites in bulk. Sometimes you can even come across already a few peeps that have already been perfectly aged! Bring and appetite and check it out next time your over on the West side of Court Street!

Stumbled upon this little candy shop one day after shopping at Cappel’s right across the street. Having no idea what to expect I wondered into this place and then my eyes busted out of their sockets. I’m not even a huge sweets person but there is something about walking into a candy store that just really gets me going. Memories of when, and where I ate the candy. Where we bought it as kids. I remember me and my brother scraping quarters together to go buy those vanilla french chews from the five and dime down the street. That kinda stuff. And this place is full of nostalgia for me. They have everything from red hots, to gummy bears, rock candy, chocolate and truffles to liquorice. Literally anything you could ever want, and if they don’t have it, I’m sure they could get it. My only disappointment, which may be a positive for others, is that this candy is in bulk. So you can buy a 10 lb bag of lemonheads for $ 22. Now I am the wrong person to ask because I have no idea if that is cheap or not. But what they have is quality, and the staff is very friendly. I was looking to buy those cheap gold coin chocolates and they were out so close to St. Paddy’s Day but the nice woman named a few other places that might still have them. I really appreciated that she took the time to help me! That is not common these days. Stop in Minges and just look around if nothing else. Super fun and there are some things that are not in bulk if you just want a quick sugar rush ;)

Minges Candy is awesome. The staff is great, especially Leslie who I believe is the granddaughter of the founder. She knows EVERYTHING about candy and is a great resource if you are trying to figure out how much to buy. She was extremely helpful with making suggestions and helping me figure out how much candy we needed to have for my sister’s wedding candy bar. If she doesn’t have something in stock she can turn it around in usually a day. The store itself is super charming, you are literally entering an old school candy shop. Not too many places like this exist anymore. Minges is the perfect place for all of your bulk candy needs. Also they now have a small parking lot next to the shop. It is small and fills up though so you may have to park on the street and I noticed meters now take credit cards!

I had no idea what to expect as I walked into Minges. I knew it was a candy shop from the candy in the window(and the sign announcing it as a candy shop) but beyond that, I was clueless. I’d never heard of it before but the people at Cappel’s told me if I needed to fill a piñata for Cinco de Mayo, that’s where I should go. And so, I went! Minges, it turns out, does bulk candy for cheap. But it’s not a warehouse — in fact, it feels like an old school candy parlor. Everything is made of wood and there are just shelves and shelves of candy. Whatever you’re looking for, it’s there. I saw classic candy and modern candy and candy in bags and wrapped candy and just about everything I would need. I wish there was a little better organization to the product, as everything just seemed to be randomly thrown up on the shelves. Still, the workers were amazingly friendly and helpful, showed me what I was looking for(turns out they had bags of piñata made-mix ready to go) and even helped me box it up. Nice! No free parking, but tons on the street. Throw some quarters in the meter and come inside. I’m recommending this place as the local shop for candy buying. Need to fill an Easter basket or give away stuff on Halloween? Don’t go to Target or CVS to buy it — come here. It’s local, it’s cheaper and it’s friendlier. You’ll win every time.
