Heard they closed. Good riddance. Terrible service, stupid people, over-priced crappy beer, and music so loud you have to shout constantly. The staff was only marginally more intelligent than their moronic patrons. The thing that amazed me the most was that people actually stood in line to get into this vortex of banality.

How this place still exists is beyond me. I’ve never been a fan of meat market bars and this place takes the cake. The Lodge Bar is your average yuppie/business person/frat bar. It serves expensive crappy beer and tries to have a constant party atmosphere. I’ve never seen a good band play here and it hosts events such as the«Girls Gone Wild» tour. If you’re into that kind of thing, more power to you. Don’t ever expect to see me in that bar ever again. Any place that charges me $ 6 for a draft of Bug Light gets an instant failing grade from me. Don’t waste your money or your time.

I went to the lodge bar for a company happy hour this week. Overall, it is a pretty relaxed atmosphere. The décor inside definitely fits the name, with probably 10 different mooseheads hanging on the walls. As a bar, I don’t really have any complaints, except that they don’t have many beers on tap. The crowd here is mostly in the 25 – 35 yr old range. Decent, but nothing to write home about.

good times! if you’re from southwestern connecticut or work for GE, this is your black bear sono in cincinnati! I went to the lodge last saturday at 11:00pm. no hassle $ 5 cover and live band! the drinks are moderately priced, nothing to rant about. the front of the stage gets pretty packed. and seriously, what is with this 2:00am light on rule? rock hard from 11:00pm-2:00am and then… go to McD’s! there is ample street parking on all the streets nearby. parking garages available too. watch out for the homeless asking for money.

Trying to look like a rustic cabin on the ski slopes, Lodge Bar features a lot of wood and a faux log exterior. This, at least, makes it stand out from the concrete and glass of downtown. It does not, however, make it stand out from your typical rowdy bar: loud music, packed people, mediocre beverages. So why the alpine décor? Beats me. Just something to set it apart from being your typical loud crowd bar. Don’t be fooled by the outdoorsy theme; the bar scene here is as plain indoors as anywhere else. This is Ohio, after all; not a mountain in sight.

If Ted Nugent became an interior decorator, he would have designed Lodge Bar. From the attractive bartenders in Hooters-esque garb to the galleria of mounted wildlife carcasses, this place screams testosterone-filled carnivore. And that’s not a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for. My boyfriend and I went there for Friday Night Happy Hour, which runs from 4 pm to 9 pm. The place was busy, but we didn’t have a problem getting a seat at the bar and were quickly greeted by a friendly bartender. She gave us the run-down on the drink specials: $ 4 cherry bombs and $ 2 you-call-it. I ordered a Bacardi Rum and pineapple, and much to my surprise it wasn’t watered down like many Happy Hour drinks at other bars. While I loved the drink specials and think rustic dcor is nice departure from the stale sports bar model, the music playing there really annoyed me. The selections shuffled from Shania Twain to Justin Timberlake to Culture Club?! I understand that they’re trying to maximize their appeal to people of all musical tastes, but I’d rather they just pick a theme and stick to it. In Lodge Bar’s defense, they have a stage for live music, but based on the tunes that were playing when I visited I couldn’t tell you if the bands are country western, pop, or 1980’s cover music.

Went to Lodge Bar to celebrate my 21st on Friday. The bouncer waved me through with a «happy birthday» and told me I wouldn’t have to pay cover… which would have only been $ 5 anyways. I was pleased with the quickness of the bartenders, I had my first drink within two minutes of being at Lodge… a «birthday cake» shot… take it, tastes just like chocolate cake! There was a pretty decent live band playing on Friday and a DJ, the band played country, rock, and pop covers while the DJ spun Rap and dance-party hits. I received a special birthday shout-out from the DJ, which made me happy :) A few shots later I found my way to the women’s restroom, where attendants were handing out candy. Why? I don’t know, but I don’t turn down free blow-pops. There is lots of room to dance at Lodge and plenty of tables to take breaks at. The crowd on Friday appeared to be mostly 21 – 25 and the bar seems to cater to this same age demographic. I checked out the website today and found that they host a «Grey’s Anatomy Viewing Party» every Thursday night during the show… Lodge is fun, if a little crazy!
