Always great service, everyone is friendly. I go there to get my hail colored by Jamie, who is great — very efficient.

As you walk into Identity, usually one of the staff will offer to hang your jacket/coat up for you, and ask if you want a drink(soda, water, coffee, etc.) while waiting. As you wait, there are newspapers and magazines to read, or you can hop on your phone and do some web surfing. I’ve rarely ever experienced more than a five minute wait before being seen. Being a guy at a salon, the typical haircut includes sitting down and explaining what type of cut you want. The stylist trims a few areas on your hair. Then, you go back to a comfortable reclining seat that has a sink attached to the top where you rest your head. You then get a relaxing ‘professional’ hair wash/massage. After that, you walk back over to the stylist’s seat and finish your haircut while discussing whatever you’d like to talk about(personally, I like to vent some of my personal issues to the stylist, so it’s like getting your haircut and a mini therapy session all at once). Overall, excellent service by the staff, quality haircuts/styling and a positive atmosphere make this an enjoyable place to visit.

Joyce Lamping is the best she cuts and colors my hair. I have the worst hair. curly kinky, thick. she makes it look straight thinner and she cuts and styles it in a way I can do it the next time it needs to be done. usually a couple of days later. She always take into consideration your age, your face shape and texture of hair. When you need a true professional call Joyce @ Identity on Beechmont. don’t waste you time and money going to anyone else. if you have crazy hair like I do.

My regular guy doesn’t offer Sunday hours and because of my schedule, it was the only day I had time to get in so I called Identity because they’re one of the only salons in the area with Sunday hours. They gave me an appointment for a haircut and eyebrow wax that afternoon. I had no clue what to expect because I had never been and there’s this thing about salons being uptight for no good reason, but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t wait long after arriving, the nice thing about stylists who keep to their appointment times. He offered me a drink. He wasn’t overly chatting, which I like. He did say he needed to leave to check on a lady’s color(I do not know anything about salon time management but when you are only getting a haircut and are left waiting, this annoys me, but I understand they want to work between clients and don’t always have assistants to help). Luckily, since he was new talent my haircut cost less than the products he was trying to upsell me and it looked great! The lady who did my eyebrows was great and the price was reasonable. The only odd thing I encountered was when I paid with a credit card, I was informed they do not accept tips on credit/debit cards. For those who don’t carry cash, that presents a problem when it comes time to leave a tip.
