This is a solid Chinese takeaway joint. Nothing fancy, but the food is solid and well prepared and the staff is friendly. Dumplings are homemade and very tasty, egg rolls are good, lo mein is very good and the entrees are solid.

I went in for Szechuan beef and a veggie egg roll, and asked for it extra extra spicy.
What I got was beef and vegetables adequately steamed in a thin brown sauce with an oily layer on top, and absolutely no spice whatsoever. About the only thing «Szechuan» about it was the baby corn.
And the egg roll, overcooked and very greasy because it absorbed a lot of oil in the fryer. Probably because the oil was too old and the temperature too low. Even the rice was a bland disappointment and very grainy.
Do yourself a favor and keep driving another mile or so in either direction and go to either Thai Taste or China Island.

I used to LOVE this dive, but then I got a feather in my chicken lo mein and just writing this sentence and thinking about that experience makes me a little queasy.

Cannot believe I am the first Unilocaler to review this Glenway staple. I don’t know how long they have been in business but it seems forever. If you want cheap, fast psuedo Chinese, then this is your place on the West Side.
It’s better than a fast food joint but not quite Thai Taste. The food is actually pretty decent and you get a large portion. The service is exceptional and they are very fast. They don’t deliver but you will have your order in less than 5 – 7 minutes.
Nobody I’ve ever seen eats at the place. It’s a hole in the wall for sure — but for take out it’s tremendous.
